Yes, it's actually been too long, because I killed Behemoth, at the very least, which gets you to lvl 6, and Final Guard to lvl 7. Here's the full real-time route: Get Change Cube Get Call Cube Get Tome of Arms 1 Get Short Sword Save before Behemoth chase SG to area around Raging Fire Get Summon Skeleton Get Whip Skill 1 Get Spear Kill Behemoth - Summon Skeleton, Spear SG past pushable block Kill Keremet - push cauldron next to right ledge set; leave Charlotte w/ Tome of Arms 1 left of cauldron, position Jonathan w/ Short Sword on left edge of upper right ledge Get Stone of Flight SG to Throne Room Get Speed Up Save Kill Final Guard - Whip Skill 1 Get Final Sword Save Kill Drac - Final Sword No double jump means no Keremet, and I don't even know how you get to Drac without killing Behemoth (something to do with your warp spot to the right of Raging Fire?), but I stand by what I said before - don't waste time on getting more EXP.

You don't need the double jump. You have to switch to the jumping character before it goes off-screen, otherwise it will despawn if you press X. So, let it gain just enough height to make it to the floor above with a second jump, then switch.

You SG into the Throne Room to trigger the cutscene and remove the barrier, then go back down to kill the Final Guard. It took me a few hours to get the FS on the first kill in real-time, you have TASing tools, so, keep trying, I guess. As for Bat Moon, there's no reason to go near Death, it's really easy to dodge by double-jumping over the bats at the right moment. Unless partner jumping gives less height than Stone of Flight, this shouldn't be too hard to TAS.

I only manipulated a Final Sword drop on the first kill once, and I didn't have Stone of Flight, so beating Drac wasn't a question of tenacity, but pretty much impossible. However, I do seem to remember saying somewhere that FS did roughly half of HC's damage. Of course, the FS run didn't kill anything but the Final Guard beforehand, while the HC run had EXP gains from three bosses. It's been far too long, but I do think it's definitely worth a run. Also, if you find a way to SG into the Speed Up room, it could be of help against Drac (like crouchsliding beneath True Drac's feet).

Thanks, your post explained a lot. Yeah, my time comes from looking at the save after skipping ending and credits. 1000 Blades is located in Sandy Grave - you wouldn't go there in a Final Sword run. With your crazy canceling techniques, you wouldn't even need Whip Skill 1, anyway, just Final Sword and something to push back the wings (Raging Fire/Summon Skeleton).

Sweet. I'm somewhat surprised it's "only" ~4 minutes faster than my console run, though. As for possible improvements, if you suspend in the first Sandy Grave room, you can grab the High Tonic in the room above for Astarte, and maybe take the upper route while you're there. It seems to me you actually lose quite a bit of time from being underleveled by skipping Behemoth and Keremet and skipping the detour for Speed Up, money and mastered Dart. After all, the Holy Claymore route mainly exists because it's a much more real-time-play-friendly alternative, but with a TAS, definitely do try going straight for the Final Sword and Drac. Partner jumping Bat Moon while backdash canceling your slow, crap-damage-dealing weapon with zero potions suddenly sounds a lot more fun. :P Of course, you could try doing another Holy Claymore run following the real-time route or a slight modification of it. Would be interesting to see what's faster.

If bots don't count as cheating, awesome! Best grinding spot for all intents and purposes is the lower left entrance to the Double Hammer room in Training Hall. Just don't forget to include all moves you're going to use in the run in your kill script so you they get enough attribute points (iirc, only the move that delivers the killing blow gets AP, though I could be wrong). At least one and a half playthroughs are required to get all max ups, though you could probably write another bot that starts a NG+, plays up to the first available MP up, saves, and starts a new game.

The main problem with warping is mana management, because this move eats through it like nothing else. In order to use it to its fullest extent, you'd need to do a NG+ run with a 100% file - lvl 255, maximum amount of max ups collected, attributes maxed out. It wouldn't be as "impressive" as far as tough boss battles go, but the ridiculous speed alone justifies such a run. With a fresh / lvl 1 cap file, you'd be walking around 75% of the time, waiting for your mana to recharge. How to get your hands on such a file is another question - cheat and it most likely wouldn't be posted on the site, or create it yourself through hours of painful grinding - I've done it myself on console, and it's about ten times more annoying than Shanoa grinding.

Can't wait for whatever runs you choose to do. Also, humble suggestion: OoE Albus NG+ would make for an awesome TAS. It's pretty much impossible to optimize in real-time unless you have three hands. Personal best so far is about 22 minutes.

In the first random encounter after a hard reset, you're guaranteed to escape successfully on the first try. Especially if you're going for in-game time, your strategy for monster areas is encounter -> escape -> save -> hard reset -> encounter. I've also 100%ed the game with starting equipment and no random encounters fought, so leveling is definitely not required. It's pretty straightforward, actually - get most Djinn along the way and maybe Eclipse, but aside from that, proper tactics and lv4 summons are everything you need.

Actually, the Burst glitch works on pillars, too, and possibly other Burst objects. Time for a new Magma Rock route.

http://www.gamefaqs.com/portable/gbadvance/file/561356/37987 "Play as only Felix" and "Walk in Lava" have some use. As of now, I found two sequence breaks inside Magma Rock. 1. In the second area (after the first blue gem door), climb down the two ladders, go south into the next room and use Burst on the statue on the ledge to skip straight to the next area. 2. Follow the normal route until you get to the three pillars you have to push into place. Ignore them and use Burst on the left statue. Go back to the previous room, climb the ladder next to the chest and jump onto the moving platform to continue like normal. ---------- Aside from the fact that I'd love to see a TAS of this game, the main reason for this thread is that I just encountered a weird glitch. It seems unlikely that it can be properly researched without TASing, and I'm unable to do so. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H90BUkBhTeE Read the video description for details.

Yeah, that's what I'm doing, but it's the Killer Doll that glitches through the ceiling, not me. I'm using the original European version, could this have been fixed or am I just missing something? Also, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rjFf7q2tXwM starting at 1:50 How does this work? After the Catoblepas warp, I fly right into the next screen, only to start zipping away from the warp room along the chapel ceiling, then disappear past the right side of the room and get a black screen, so I guess that's not how it works, but I can't see what he's doing differently.

How do the money cheating glitch and damage into wall work exactly? I only managed to clip the Killer Doll out of bounds, not myself. I found this apparently unassisted warp run: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fDoTvbKhfwU What route would you use for a New Game+ warp run? There are so many ways to warp around that it seems futile to figure out routes without tool-assistance.

Hi, I'm currently trying to figure out routes with warping / out-of-bounds glitches for both New Game and New Game+ unassisted speedruns, but other than Catoblepas warps, I have little experience with techniques used in recent TASs, such as the Giant Bat zipping glitch from the last and the death warp glitch from the new TAS. Are any of these feasible / possible to use in unassisted runs?
