It was a typo. I even edited it before you replied. The guy's entitled to his opinion. He watched the TAS. He should be allowed to rate it. You're basically saying this concept is wrong and moozooh is being ridiculous for defending it. ¬_¬

No. People are free to vote whatever they like, but the rating system should not be used to protest site politics and judging decisions. The forums should be used for that, not the rating system. I believe that you understand the distinction but are nitpicking just because.
It's not a very good protest if the only reason that it became an issue is because of the runner's ego. None of the site moderators gave a shit. Also, only relevant to Saethori, not Cardboard.

It's not to the extent that quoting Albert Einstein is in any way relevant. It's not to the extent where he should be forming a prejudice against it. ¬_¬ There's a million different things that could have been done differently from one MST TAS to the next. Route isn't everything. Just look at the shitstorm that was formed over the Mario 64 0star camera angles. None of it was relevant to the route. It still mattered. There's no way you can objectively claim 'seen one oot tas, seen 'em all' as you seem to be assuming. Heaven forbid the guy gave the game another chance.

Watching different OoT TASes != doing the same thing over and over again. -_-

Having something cause physical harm to you is a little to different to something causing an unfavourable response. (For one thing, nobody would call you an idiot for watching another speedrun of a game you didn't enjoy) A better analogy would be something closer to not enjoying a certain type of food in the past, but then trying it again for the sake of seeing if your tastes have changed. Happens to me all the time.

That's a fairly silly thing to assume. TASing 2D games and TASing 3D games are worlds apart, you should know that well enough yourself.

So having said that he doesn't know enough about TASing the game to give it a fair technical rating, you still think he should give it one anyway?

He didn't give it a technical rating.

From what I've gathered from this and other posts, I take it there was an impostor on IRC. Who was he impersonating?

His nickname was TheSilentAssassin long before TASing was a thing. You're reading too much into that.

If the emulator had both, different extensions would be the most sensible thing to do. Requiring the emulator to be installed to switch between them so you can open them in whichever program you wanted to sucks, imo.

From the point of view of someone who uses emulators purely to play games, I don't care whether the name gets changed. I do think it's a pretty stupid name to give to an emulator though. *shrugs*

Well this isn't creepy at all. I'll just let you know that it's a pretty bad idea to try and sleep in a bed with a horse though.

Yeah you should be ashamed of yourself, that post took him a full two minutes of his life to write. That's two minutes he'll never get back.

Couldn't you just TAS OoT using the GCN rom on Mupen? That way we can make a defence that the gitch is supposed to work on that version during the submission process.
Isn't this discussion what derailed the other OoT thread to the point of it being locked?
