That isn't a TAS.

Bottom line, I really really want to TAS this game and I would love to see this guy's TAS submitted and published at TASVideos. I tried contacting him but got no reply :(
This is a really bad TAS of the game. I wouldn't want to see it published here.

Doom 3 currently can't be TASed. Only simple games are supported in Hourglass.

The second one looks horribly squashed. The first one looks alright, I can't decide whether I prefer it over #3 though. I'd need to see a gameplay video or something.

I cannot read. Yeah, I'd pick 3. But there'd be no way to make a general rule about it, since 'look better' is subjective.

I have not seen a game that falls under that category.

I chose #2 also. Stretched pixels = ugly. :(

I'm not a TASer, I'm a real-time speedrunner. To me, TASes are mostly technical demonstrations, but in some cases they can be extremely entertaining. I wouldn't say any Pokémon games played straight would fall under the case of being 'entertaining' since the game itself is a foregone conclusion in those cases. I suppose I did misinterpret what you defined as 'merits of the TAS', but that's a fairly subjective thing anyway as we both have our own opinions on what makes this worth watching. I don't usually judge TASes based on how they compare to real-time speedruns (outside of completion time). As far as a screenshot of winning a battle vs a higher level Poké goes, if there was some way of conveying how quickly and decisively that battle was won, I'd definitely agree with you. As it stands, all that screenshot says is that Skarmory was defeated with an ineffective move while Swellow was paralyzed, not that it was defeated in two moves. I feel like I'm just splitting hairs by saying this, but that's how I feel when I look at that screenshot.

I'm not trolling. I'm just saying battles are the most predictable part of this TAS. You know the player is going to go into it and come out of it unscathed, regardless of opposition, which is why I said the most interesting screenshot to me is the one where the player is standing on a roof (which is actually one of the screenshots you suggested, heh). There's nothing predictable or expected about that. I'd be intrigued to find out how that happened.

It's a TAS. Why wouldn't you expect it to win?

That screenshot says to me, "Hey cool, a Pokémon Ruby TAS and the runner found a neat little line in it." While it says nothing about the merits of this TAS, neither does seeing the screenshot of Swellow beating a 9 level higher Skarmory. It's expected to happen.

I don't think anyone that wanted to watch a Pokémon TAS would be dissuaded by a screenshot. >_> Knowing how the Pokémon games work and knowing that this is a TAS site, I'm personally not going to be impressed by a screenshot of a Swellow beating a Skarmory many levels higher than it. I'd probably be more interested in the screenshot where the player character is somehow standing inside a roof.

There are programs out there that will allow you to remove the header from your ROM to allow the patch to work on it, for example, NSRT made by our very own Nach. I won't link to it as linking to the host would get me banned (>_>) but you can find it by googling for 'NSRT SNES'.

This technically isn't the first PC TAS as DOS TASes are still PC TASes. This would be the first Windows TAS. That said, I enjoyed watching the movie, so yes vote.

It's generally a good idea to have proof before you accuse people of things, that way you don't end up looking like a massive special. "It looks like" is not evidence. It's conjecture. How do you know he doesn't use the input plugin?

Voted yes. I had no idea PoR had this sort of glitch! Very reminiscent of the Harmony of Dissonance Maxim mode run.

I managed to get it to sync so I have a watchable encode, but it's not really up to the standards of the site so don't go getting mad me for it. :D Edit: http://www.gamefront.com/files/20397627/mslug3_TAS_by_x2poet.avi Edit 3: Link updated.

Voted yes. I found your take on the autoscroller spaceship part very entertaining, though I can see other people not finding it as interesting as I did. I also loved how you finished off the end boss, I never thought melee cancelling would outdamage both flameshot AND shotgun. I suggest frame 47453 as a screenshot. :D Edit: The run didn't sync all the way, but I saw enough that I thought I was able to vote. It desynched about 15 seconds before movie end.

You don't need to to know about emulator devleopment, to know that a DS emulator won't be able to emulate 3DS games. You just need a little shred of common sense for that. So yeah it was the stupidest question ever asked. Or certainly one of the stupidest.
While I do not wish to continue this derail, bear in mind that Dolphin began life as a GameCube emulator. Wii support was added later in its lifetime because the systems were so similar. This is also the case for the DS and 3DS, so it's not stupid to wonder if the same thing might happen.

You do notice the irony of you using sarcasm, to berate me for using sarcasm, don't you? Anywho some people say there are no stupid questions. jlun2 just proved these people wrong. So sarcasm really was the only possible response.
The irony was intended. As for 'stupid questions', if you aren't going to handle answering someone properly then don't bother doing it at all. Not everyone keeps tabs on emulator development, nor should they need to.

Sarcasm sure is a nice way of expressing things right? Anyway no, desmume can't emulate 3DS yet.
