Hmm, the only levels I recall having emu (emo?) problems were the battlefield ones when a bomb would go off in the background. The whole thing would stop for a second...think about it...and then display.

I am very curious how the HP works in this game too. I can remember trowing/hitting/whatever to bosses for what seemed like forever and they would just keep on getting back up for more. Then later when I'd go back for fun, I'd hit 'em once or twice and they'd drop!

I guess that just depends on your view of when the end of the game is. Right when you're given those quests, you're basically told to go get Lavos now, but there's all this other stuff to do instead, so decide. That's why I condsider it the end of the game...even if doing all of them takes as long as getting to the point of officially getting them!

You mean like completeing all the little side-quests at the end of the game? That'd be both cool and long.

Yeah, like I said it probably would take longer. I remember hitting him like 10 times and he still took the same amount of punishment later. Soooo...are you just going to taunt us by telling us your progress or are you gonna be nice and WIP us?

Ah. He ONLY did this for me right before he switches sides with you for the 1st time. He would go BIG laser, then jump. But if I caught the whole thing, then hit him with it, he would keep on shooting. Only when I didn't return it would he move on. You are right, normally when he does this during the fight he will just move on with the missles. I actually don't recall very well if anything after that was shorter. If I can find the time I'll see about making a movie or something, but don't count on it! oo! I found a movie! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cwgqjI_ZhM0 The player isn't exactly the best and it doesn't show what I'm talking about but it will at least help you understand the moment I'm talking about. At about 1:05, the player hits him with a missle, and the beam is firing. It's this moment right here that if you catch the beam and then hit him with it, he'll fire it again. Catch again, hit again. Repeat till tired.

This has nothing to do with the Run, but I remember when fighting Cerebus Alpha that during his 1st phase, when you're in front of him, right before he jumps over you he fires his big super beam. You can catch it and then hit him with it, and he'll do it again. Repeat till tired. Never seemed to speed up the other parts, though.

Those warps they were talking about are the little bonus stages with nothing but trampolines and fruits. Once you fal it always will drop you in the same spot later in the level. To get to them you wait in a certain spot for a few seconds, then some clouds take up there. They tend to skip a sizable chunk of a level, but they do take a while to get up there. If you don't know what I'm talking about, if I remember correctly in the 1st level, after you exit the forest, right before the 1st snake you ever see, which should be right before the hill are two totem poles. If you just stand inbetween them you should be able to go there.

That's some impressive research done there. Now what do you intend to do with it?

Hmmm..didn't even think about question manipulation. That would be interesting to look into. I guess the "perfect" manipulation would be making all the numbers you need to hit on the bottom row AND be single digit answers. But of course that is assuming it can be manipulated... By the way, is there a video plugin that will show the rock/question text?

Yay! Good to hear that someone is going through with this. It does kinda stink that those two levels won't render right though. I played through this game a while ago on this emulator and had a very wonderful time trying doing those levels. A tip for math fun: save before the question let the Clancer answer it. Now that you know, you can just reload and go!

Hmmm, I saw something like this in other games on other emulators. I could savestate right before collecting something, then if I loaded I would keep the item. I think it had something to do with something outside of the savestates, like the save-ram itself would change.

Well, if you can get that to work, then maybe you could get my arcade runs accepted around here...

It seems around here the theory is how fast could the game be beaten if it was just turned it on and played. SRAM can sorta do that because it is just there on power-up. Savestates could do that but it would be hard to be exactly when the game powers up, so it would be possible to "cheat" by having the savestate start a little bit later than the power on start.

Uh, the frequency of the electricty going to the power of the TV doesn't have an effect on the operation of the TV. There's certain types of cicuitry that will change the frequency to what it needs. Everything does that quite easily actaully, so there should be no problems.

A little on a little off topic question here. Are there any games that don't emulate right? I remember playing through FFIX on EpcxE (or something) and it froze at a certain cut scene. Only an older version worked. Are there any like that in this emu?

Nah, if the monster is normally immune to death, then insta-death won't hurt it at all. But if it CAN be doomed/banished but at a very very low %, the vanish combo will work.
