Just today v1.5 was released. Sadly, (re)recording has not been worked at for quite some time now.

mkv files got deleted and I don't really understand out it works.
Because mkv is a stupid gay format.
Would you mind giving any good reasons as to why you came to this somewhat troll-like assumption?

I really enjoyed it. JRB (as always) is a course I don't really like, but you kept it entertaining and fast enough for me not to skip through it. Some of the BoB and WF stars were really great, quite some of them with surprising routes. All in all, keep it up! :)

"Best" as in "good, but still rejected :(" or "so very bad, it deserved to be nothing but rejected"?

Imo it's not official until the movie is published, but whatever. HappyLee, why did you cancel your submission?

because youtube decided to cut out half the frames.
Hasn't that always been the case? Anyway, HappyLee: if this gets accepted and I get to publish it, I'll most likely use the file I just uploaded.

If it's done in C, must it be standard-compliant, or is it enough that it compiles with gcc?
I think GCC is pretty standard compliant, isn't it? <OmnipotentEntity> ShinyDoofy, if you write a submission in C or pascal I'll accept it. <OmnipotentEntity> provided I can get it to compile and run.

Synced fine for me with the latest SVN revision of 1.43. (Check the SNES forum for the Google Code page). I also have a patch handy for making it compile (finally) and adding proper -dumpstream support.

it feels strange that there is gameplay after the movie is over.
Would something like the end credits appear after finishing them? I somewhat doubt that the lemming standing on that ledge is supposed to be the end. However, you're free to correct me, of course. :)

Alternatively, you might send your encode to me via Skype and I'll upload it some place (as I suppose that there's something wrong with your browser and not your connection in general).

Ehm... Google only finds a file on Megaupload (or any other upload service for that matter) because somebody linked it somewhere on a publicly available website. Imagine your private photos of you dancing around in the back yard naked could be found via Google just because you uploaded them there as a backup for yourself - not that great, is it? ;) So, bottom line: We'll have to wait for you to give us the link to that file.

A codec is not a container format.

(I wouldn't be at all surprised if some people ask questions like "do I need to have internet explorer running in order to use skype?")
I love how some people tell you to "turn off the Internet" (==close the browser) to have better performance in online games. The use of words just creeps me out.

Yes, it needs that. Usually, you capture the run losslessly first (with x264 (->quantizer 0) or FFV1) and then encode it (compress it, add subtitles, set the correct aspect ratio and so on). So yeah, you will need VirtualDub or mencoder, whichever suits you best and/or gives the better/best results. I don't know about Windows, but on Linux you can actually skip capturing and go directly to encoding by using mencoder and FIFOs.

That would be really great! :) As it's "just" a WIP (and not a publication), I don't really care about the format. Still, x264 and vorbis sound in an mkv would be neat. Xvid and mp3 in an avi would be alright as well, of course ;)
