It's not the best game, but neat enough. Weak yes vote.

Crap, you're right. I'll upload the new file in a moment. /edit: it's been updated, redownload the .torrent file. You can use your old mkv, as it's basically just a patch to the old one.

Because it's shorter than "rerec" and people familiar with the concept immediately know what it's about?

Well the glaring thing about that statement is -interim.
Indeed. Toothache used an interim version from June 11th. I've tried every non-win32only-changes revisions from that day, the day before and after (because of the different time zones) and none of those synced.

Has anyone managed to get this to sync with FCEUX? I added a few frames between those two start button presses at the beginning to get the game to start at all, but it desyncs after the two first doors :/

At this point I really do think the movie should be rejected just because it was made by nineko. I also think it would make him happier.
Yeah, to prove his point that everybody hates him. By the way, why isn't this rejected anymore? Did this get lost in the transition?

Warp: this sound most awkward. Just some random ideas: Have you tried deleting/renaming your ~/.xchat2 directory to start off fresh? If you have backlogging activated, maybe something's wrong in there. Is this also the case in new channels or in queries with people you haven't spoken to directly? Have you tried newer/older versions of XChat? Does this also happen without iconvircproxy?

This version has software video core fixes that affect many games. http://yabause-rr.googlecode.com/files/yabause-rr-2363.zip
Unfortunately, 257 worked "best" for me on Windows: I can capture runs, but the sound is way off for arukAdo's Castlevania run (about 1-1.5 seconds, I'd say). 2363 isn't much better as it desyncs right from the very first frame (the Konami video keeps playing although it should be skipped). Maybe I'm just doing it wrong: Start Yabause, have the image autoloaded from the config file, pause the emulator, load the movie and start capturing, unpause, desync.

Somewhat offtopic: When the AVGN introduces the Famicom in his Transformers review, what game's music is playing in the background? I seem to know it somehow, but can't come up with a name :( /Thanks! :)

Sadly, the latest run desynced for ,e when you were about to enter the the door at Lakeside Castle. Still, having played through this hack myself by now (with 70/117 exits...), I'm looking forward to this. /Nevermind on the desync issue, I needed to run it with up+down/left+right.

Since I encode the game's sound and video separately, I mostly only check for the sound after muxing the final mkv. Without the sound I can concentrate on the artifacts a little more and check for visual improvements.

I dare anyone to implement NESvideos Piece for the rerecord branch of Yabause, more specifically the QT port of it. From what I found out until now, this is really ugly to do, if at all. There is some function called YabauseExec in the core to emulate stuff (1 frame?), nothing special. I'd go about and use the screenshot code to get a frame's pixels as some QImage and read the information from that as needed, but the widget actually displaying the game and thus holding this frame's pixel pointer hostage has nothing to do with emulating one single frame (->YabauseExec). There's also no option to advance one frame in the QT build and to top it all off it's all threaded, so this is impossible for me to accomplish. As usually, anything on this is highly appreciated.

Dromiceius: MKV is a container format and does not need any 3d acceleration. If anything, the video inside this MKV may need it to play properly/better (->VDPAU). You might want to try a different video ouput driver, though (-vo gl2 always worked best for me, but -vo xv usually also works in some way). As for the aspect ratio, if the game also runs at 384x224 (like that Street Fighter game), it should have been left untouched at about 1.71. I'll compare the encoder settings those two encodes used later today. My random guess is that one of them uses too many consecutive bframes.

Thing is, I also use Gentoo and Fedora.
For your servers???
Ran Gentoo for several on my server, never had the slightest problem.

That's why we now need to use self extracting 7-Zip files. So Windows users can extract them without needing any programs, and be horribly mortified and scared by the .exe, and UNIX users can just use 7za to extract self extracting 7-Zip exe files.
Thank God I can spot irony every once in a while. A little part (possibly even a big one) died inside of me when reading this. While I already can't stand having win32 emulators, this is just too much sucking up to M$. Bisqwit: emerge p7zip
