The game I'm playing is Valkyrie no Densetsu (via Namco Museum Vol. 5) The game is displayed like this by default: As you can see, it's not full screen. When I switch to TATE mode on the game's options, it becomes full screen, but the game is rotated 90 degrees to the left, like this: Is there not a way to rotate the emulator 90 degrees to the right back to make it vertical?

"backwards in the video dump" ? Not sure if I understand what this means, can you clarify?

Nevermind, I managed to fix my stuff, finally. One question though. Does that "Key Frame Rate" thing from Camstudio's Lossless Codec 1.5 work with LZO as well or only GZIP?

Is there not a way to increase the emulator's windowed resolution? seems like the max it can get is 640x480, but I'd like something higher than that.

What Version(s) of Bizhawk? Were you trying an SVN? What message(s) appeared? What were you doing when things went bad? Details help everyone!
BizHawk 1.6.0 There were no messages at all. The game simply kept running with wrong commands (it desynced) And through the whole run I only used slots 1 and 2 for savestates. No slowdown or anything like that, so on that part I most likely only loaded slot 1 a couple times to hit the enemy properly. And I'm certain that I didn't load a state that was ahead of me, I'm very cautious with that. So no clue why it desynced.

Seemed stable to me...What more do you want? A full QA department doing rigorous TASing? You found a bug. It happens. Get over it.
Woah. Thank you sir, but no. That's not necessary. I'll just use Gens instead. At least it has not failed me yet.

If an emulator wasn't allowed to be released until it had no bugs at all, there would be no emulators. And no TASVideos. Hmm, I kind of like that...
Then it could be mentioned on the front news that Genesis support is still unstable, not that is official.

This movie desynced for me: https://www.dropbox.com/s/ef7vrdyr6pj3knd/vk.rar Emulator Version: BizHawk 1.6.0 Rom Name: Vamipre Killer (J) [!].gen It desynced for me near the end of Stage 1, when I'm fighting the Bone Dragon. How come it desynced if the Emulator now has official Genesis support?

Sorry for double posting, but I wanna ask something again. This might sound pretty dumb, but is there a way to make a .gmv file work on BizHawk? That's because I made a couple movies with Gens, so I was wondering if BizHawk could make the .gmv work without desync.

It's saying above that they added .gmv movie importer on one of the earlier versions. Does that mean it's possible to do what I want?

Pretty broken? Do you mean that it desyncs?

Sooo... I know I should have asked this sooner, but... How is the emulation of Genesis on Bizhawk now? Because if it's good enough, then I'll use it over Gens. Is it as reliable/accurate/stable as the one from Gens?

I'm uploading the video to my Dropbox. Only problem is that it will take a while since my upload speed is so slow...

Basically, I used Camstudio Lossless Codec 1.5 to .avi dump, and since the emulator does 2GB split, I used VirtualDub to join everything together plus the audio as Direct Stream Copy. Here is the info: Also, the method you told me about to try on Handbrake keeps giving me this error:

What ARE you using that is causing Handbrake to crash?
See for yourself: https://www.dropbox.com/s/yno365d8eysrmmb/vidstuff.rar As you can see, the .avi works perfectly on my computer. But when I put it on handbrake or any other video converter, it crashes.

Sorry for the late response, but I don't want to mux my .avis into .mkv. Doing so will keep the same size as the .avi. What I want to do is convert to .mkv AND decrease the file size at the same time so I can upload it to youtube. I can't upload insanely big files with my lame 400 kbps upload speed.

Out of those 6 options, which one should I choose (that gives the best quality) for dumping on 720p?

Ok. I've tried 4 different converters so far: Handbrake, VidCoder, Total Video Converter and Format Factory Handbrake simply crashes upon selecting a big .avi file for conversion, so I probably can't do much about it. VidCoder gives me an "Assertion Failure" error: Total Video Converter turns the video upside down (lol) upon conversion and lowers down the quality a lot, causing image artifacts to appear everywhere. Format Factory is the only one that converts fine, but the .mkv's it creates are HUGE. (3:17GB for a 01:06:39 video). So I can't upload such a big file with my low internet speed. ...So, can't anyone help me, really? I'm having trouble to find something good.

Can you recommend any good .avi to .mkv converting software?

So, I take it v2.0.2 svn0 has this bug as well, right? I just want to confirm because I'm a bit lazy to record stuff all over again.

So... I tried to upload my new .mp4's to youtube, but I got this error: "The video has failed to process. Please make sure you are uploading a supported file type." It's the first time this happens to me. Anyone got a similar problem while trying to upload videos made through PSXjin's .avi recorder?

Sorry for bumping this old thread, but I dumped some movies through PSXjin v2.0.2 svn0. Does it have this bug as well? If it does, then are my movies compatible with svn718, so I can make they run there without desync?

I'd like to take the opportunity to ask something. Which codec gives the better quality? Camstudio's LZO or Lagarith?

Woah, thank you so much guys. I got stuff working now. This method is 1000x times better than lame Fraps. Everything turned out lag-less, with good quality and audio synced. The size also turned out only 1.93GB which is decent enough for me to upload to youtube.
