Speaking as someone who is not a hardcore Mario 64 enthusiast, I enjoyed watching the run. Yes, the concept is pretty arbitrary (again, to a casual observer), but hey, it's something new and different. There are enough differences between it and the 120 star run to warrant publication, in my book. Hell, it's worth publishing for that Chuckya glitch alone. I would also support the creation of a "concept demo"/"TAS labs" section of the site for movies like this or the MM3/4/5/6 quad run that is expressly for experimentation and entertainment instead of simply beating a game as fast as possible.

Some of these are pretty cool (like the OOT one(s)), and I will go on record as stating that I would not at all mind if they were utilized when making the AVI of a run. edit: I should rephrase after reading FODA's post; I would support this if a 2nd AVI was made as an alternative to the original -- I wouldn't want this to be the only thing available, because obviously that won't sit well with many people. But having the 2nd one available would be neat.

Been following this for a while now, glad to see it's finally complete. Well-done run of a colorful, challenging Treasure game? Yes please!

Wow, that is quite a substantial improvement to an already great movie. Easy yes. edit: No desyncs for me, it plays all the way to the end.

Looks very promising so far. I don't know if I'll be able to help at all, but I'll definitely be following this. BTW, why not use DeHackEd's storage instead of filefront? http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php

I really like the music that plays when you're in HyperSpace. However, the rest of the movie didn't hold my interest much at all, since I've never played the game before. On the other hand, nothing particularly strikes me as sloppy or poorly done, and I'd imagine that fans of the game would enjoy seeing this, so I see no reason to reject it. Votin' meh.

Wow, I forgot I'd ever posted a thread for this game. Well, needless to say, I'll be following this closely. I played this game a lot in my spare time over summer last year and will try to help out if I can. comicalflop: The most obvious difference in 100% and any% is that getting gold medals in every category (A/B/Pilot) will open up the bonus games (human cannonball, skydiving, Jumble Hopper). I don't know if Tragedy plans on doing those (since Jumble Hopper is really the only interesting one, in my opinion), but there you go. 100% seems like a better goal than any%. Like Dromiceius said, perfect scores are pretty tricky to get, and therefore more impressive. It seems like one of the main benefits of doing any% is allowing yourself to lose points by bumping into the ground with the Gyrocopter so you travel faster (which I've never gotten to work), but... the Gyrocopter isn't that great at handling or anything, and I imagine that doubling its speed would make it a lot harder to maneuver tightly. Maybe it's possible, I dunno. Like I said, I've never done it.

I hope someone takes up Pilotwings sometime. I love that game. Someone notify JXQ when they get Blast Corps working on Mupen. I can't wait to see his take on it.

Great improvement! Obvious yes. May I request that when the AVI is made, can the sound setting be set so that 'PSG High Quality' is unchecked? Sonic's jump sound effect sounds odd when that's enabled, and the last AVI used that setting.

monotoli was down for about an hour earlier today, sorry about that. Should be fine now barring any power outages or something over at Dreamhost. Other than that I have nothing of importance to add, other than I'm lurking around and watching the WIPs with great interest :)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=btE4bmED5pA WOW. I cannot believe this was released by an actual company and not one person working independently for an hour a day for about a week.

Okay, wow. This is like Bisqwit's treatment of Mega Man, but even more extreme. The game is broken to hilarious degrees, while still being intact enough that it's extremely entertaining to watch all the way through. It's consistently amazing, clever, and fun to watch. This is the quintessential TAS. Give this three stars. :)

I think Sonic reaching the edge of the world in Oil Ocean 2 would make a great screenshot.

When he is ready, I hope he will announce if he will try to improve the current Sonic3&Knuckles run. Best of wishes to you Nitsuja.
I'm selfish and would rather see him finish Mischief Makers first :)

This is certainly an admirable first run. Although I really, REALLY wish you had chosen a Sonic where getting the emeralds actually matters :(

Furthermore, I disagree with the decision to wait for up to 6 seconds at the end rather than spend extra time in the score tally. Adds to speed, yes, but at a horrible cost to entertainment.
I don't know about that. Waiting is waiting, whether it's before or after you cross the finish line. I'd rather watch Sonic mess around before crossing the finish line with the regular level music rather than with the annoying score counter beeps :) This is kind of conflicting, it's well made but maybe not the best idea for a run in the first place. I'm still gonna vote yes, though :)
