Wow, that certainly fits the "Crappy Youtube Videos" category... massive thumbs down here.

I have to say, I loathe playing this game! Not so much that it is a horrible game, horrible to TAS etc etc, it is just so damn hard to play. Look forward to viewing some WIPs and such (as well as a publication ;) )

Tim Curry in one of his weirdest, and most horrible roles yet: a singing wizard with crappy 80's special effects that are, evidentally, his only spells. Enjoy. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Sr2cAuye_SM&mode=related&search=

I tried clicking on the link for "Movie rating" in the main site's faq and I got an error message "User not found." for whatever reason. Just giving a heads up for any interested. Here is the URL http://tasvideos.org/rating.exe

I was entertained by this movie, I say go ahead. How many levels are in this thing? If there are more than 50, I believe you should probably choose a different game type, if possible, unless you found ways to entertain the viewer.

It does not work with earlier versions, only v1.51.

Thanks for the feed, guys. I have a question...assuming the rest of the run would be similar to that WIP, would anyone still support the run? It's pretty clear that there definitely aren't as many new routes as was expected. I could make wildly different routes, but they'd all be a lot slower than the fastest known ones that I'm using. I'll finish the run no matter what, but I'd just like to know if it still has the same chances of being published as it did when it was first suggested.
Personally, I would still support it... to me, no coins is one helluva challenge and it will amaze me no matter what! XD So yes, full support from this forum crawler.

The emulator said I had a bad Rom checksum, consisting of all 0's. However, the movie ran fine and I can give this movie a big thumbs up.

So stupid, yet so funny all at the same time. I give you PS3 Elite http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H6Be4TlXe5s&feature=dir Edit: Figured I would do a shameless plug of my ytmnd I made ~a month ago. It's a little deep for a ytmnd, so if you dont get the joke PM me and I can explain. Also, if you can name the movie the song is from, you get a prize.. or something.. anyways enjoy. http://midolsave.ytmnd.com/

Suprisingly, I enjoyed watching the more-often-than-not half naked man throw shields at his enemy. Yes vote here.

On the non-tas run, when you are in an area with a really hard to find pokemon, you'll save and start a new segment before looking for it?
I think that would be waaay too tedious. Hell, to this day I STILL havent caught a Tauros in the safari zone. bastards always get away (sorry for the colorful language, I have pent up rage about Safari Zones ;) ) On topic: I watched the last WIP and was extremely impressed, and look forward to when primorial#soup (or anyone else) continues it. I do think reaching indigo plateu (iirc the place where you can fly to and from) and then going to get the certificate would be the best/fastest way to go, but it has been a while since I have played so my memory may be dusty.

The game was played well, no doubt about that. However, I voted no because I was not entertained at all. It seemed to be a lot of crawling around, collecting money, buying something, collecting arrows and money, continue to collect money and arrows, buy something else, beat the boss. I think this was simply a bad game to TAS, not having much of anything to abuse/save time (but the go through the floor glitch, from what I could tell, was very helpful in saving some time)

But would the star-in-a-cage...star... or the penguin slide race be any faster? Or is he doing a "any star that normally requires a cannon to get won't be collected" type of thing?
He is getting all stars in the entire game that don't require the collection of coins, use of caps, or use of cannons.
Ooooh... talk about feeling stupid... well, then, disregard my comment mr_roberts_z and good work thus far! (Thanks for the info, AQwertyZ ;) )

One thing I noticed was the foot race star, is it the fastest star you could have gotten? I admit, I didnt look too hard in this thread to see if it was mentioned in another message, but waiting for that turtle to show up was time consuming (although you DID find good ways to keep the viewer entertained).
He is doing a coinless / cannonless / capless run so he has to get it.

I enjoyed watching the WIP, especially when you played around with the coins in Bowser's level. One thing I noticed was the foot race star, is it the fastest star you could have gotten? I admit, I didnt look too hard in this thread to see if it was mentioned in another message, but waiting for that turtle to show up was time consuming (although you DID find good ways to keep the viewer entertained). Aside from that, I noticed nothing that would need further attention. Good work!

The only two categories we need for this game are 1. Any% 2. 100% (3 stars next to save file: all stages, all secret exits, all star coins spent)
I think a 100% would be the most interesting, having played the game myself. Optomizing coin routes and utilizing probably glitches/that damn turtle shell (that sucks massive balls) would be insane. However, as with Sonic 3D, an Any% would be best for starters... to, say, wet the appetite of all the viewers ;)

Strangely enough, a glitch like this has recently been discovered in Age of Empires: Age of kings for the DS. I see that this glitch could be used for multple units for the offenseive purpeses. Good work.
What are you talking about, dude? As you probably know (since you started this topic) the discussion is on Fire Emblem not Age of Empires @_@ On Topic: This game has a very impressive TAS capability, especially (sp) due to the difficulty of juggling frames/turns as well as luck manipulation... I salute all who have worked on this, and any other FE tas <o \o

Giving it a shot, here I come! My completion time goal is 12:00. I figure SMB will be about 6 minutes, SMB2j maybe 9, SMB2 about 10 (because boss-fighting won't be too optimal).
Are you gonna be attempting to do SMB3 as well, or leave that out?

It seems that after I defeat Dark Matter (the boss coming when you have all Rainbow Pieces), you can choose from either sound, bonus or boss. Sound means you can simply listen to the soundtrack from the game. In bonus mode you go through all the bonus stages again, and in boss mode you get to face all the bosses once more, without any abilities. Would any of those be valid in this run? I think it would get repetive to go through the same stages all over again, but that's just me. Thoughts please.
Hmm, the sound thing would be pointless, imo. The bonus stages were already beaten once, so that would get repetative and the boss fights, too, were already completed once before, so there wouldn't be any new material there either. I think simply clearing out the main game is more than enough.
