I am so proud of you, boy ;_; *wipes away tears* Definitely (sp?) a yes vote, for utter-awesome... i cant think of anything you weren't able to improve from an already great run. Good work, man. Good work.

Wow, that looks a helluva lot better than my pitiful attempt :) I am really torn about which branch is faster... but i think falling would probably be better than Pan's pitiful running, thus leading me to think that the left path is the better of the two. But, I may just be talking out of my arse ;)

After playing through the whole game on easy mode, I think this would be a great game for a TAS. It may be difficult to get viewer praise if the viewer had never played this game before... however for those who have played the game, they will appreciate the run and be fully entertained, IMHO.

I actually meant to edit my other post earlier, but my Ipod went emo on me >_> As far as I could tell, the sword didnt change the score tally at all... there is nothing added under the "Life" or "Fly" tally, so I would assume the sword doesn't affect the score at all (unless the stage clear bonus is upped a bit from getting the "secret" sword) Also, picking up the sword does not replenish health, so you are still not gonna get any health bonus' at the end.

I like your level 7, especially since it is difficult to quickly maneuver Pan (due to the game's programming) thus making it difficult to keep a person entertained. I, however, was entertained by your arial (sp?) acrobatics. Is there a reason you didnt grab the sword? Not being too familiar with the game, I didnt know if an extra "You have the golden sword!" bonus would come up at the end of the level (thus losing frames) or if all movement, including background scrolling, would cease as Pan shoved the "weapon upgrade" into the air for a couple hundred frames. All in all, excellent TASing, I am loving your progress and can't wait to see the completed work!

Why don't we just use the original version, Mobile Electric Beast Telefang? Preferably the Speed version as we want to go as fast as possible.
Still, IIRC, the bootleg was as interesting as biting my fingers off... and if the only difference between the original and bootleg are translations, the game would still be dull >_>;

It is too bad the hardcore gamers on Nick Arcade *cough* decided to not play this game as perfectly as you have!

Seeing the puzzles solved so quickly was entertaining, especially the more complex ones. However, not being a big puzzle man myself, the novelty eventually wore off, as did my attention span. Of course, that is the game's fault, not the runner's. I will give this a solid meh (nothing personal).

Hold on, gotta look for my face that has just been rocked off... I believe it is safe to assume that if nitsuja got his hands on an actual S3 + S&K cart, well, the carts would probably blow up. In other words yes

Your skill at dodging trainers is unmatched. Yes vote for this, and many many other reasons as well ;)

I was quite entertained by this movie, a definate improvement over the first few levels I had viewed a couple of weeks ago. Definite yes vote.

My game always de-syncs at the very beginning... you dont even get past the "Internal battery has run dry" screen. My ROM and your movie's ROM match up, as well as my being able to play the previously posted Sapphire run just fine. Ideas?

@stickyman05: I'll mess around with your idea and see if I could get something like that to work that saves time.
From just playing around with the idea in normal gameplay, I found it difficult to quickly change my facing direction, however my tests did prove Pan always moves the opposite direction he is facing... but as I said, it was difficult to change direction quickly as well as keep your momentum going (granted, the hit basically stops your forward momentum anyways @_@) EDIT: Basically, I wrote a whole paragraph to say "Will it save any time?" Pz all.

zidanax, your run (so far) is beautiful... makes me cry in rage at how well you play this difficult game ;P One possibility I noticed for improvement was for the snow level with all the snow ball throwing pirates (I believe level 6). ~One screen before the boss I notice you take a hit from a shield pirate, but when you take the hit you bounce back to the left... what if you turned your back to the pirate, so you would take back damage, and possibly, bounce to the right? Sorry for being rather vague, if you need more of an explanation let me know so I can elaborate some more.

Skychase, I have no idea what you are talking about. Try using complete sentences while elaborating your ideas next time. EDIT: Sorry, skychase, nothing personal. Just had a crappy day, thus I am crabby. Upthorn, thank you for your insight. As the man said, there is no way to do it, thus i do believe this X-men run is officially on hold. >_<

That is a good question... I think we would have to go to Bisqwit for that one. Would using a splice to create one movie file be legit, or would there be too much possibility of cheating in some way, shape or form to be even considered for publishing? I think after homework is finish I will be whoring myself out the the website's faq, and, possibly, kissing Bisqwit's a... I mean, asking Bisqwit if it could be legit.

Hey guys, although I am not super familiar with the game (rented it twice, sucked hardcore both times, began to hate with the passion of the christ... whoops, i digress) but I, too, noticed many possible improvements for this game. If you need a theory tested or something, hit me up. Pz

I did a bit of testing, and was able to figure out how to skip the first Juggernaut fight. here is the gmv file http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/4712/juggernautskip.gmv I wont be working on this run seriously until the next gens comes out, where recording with a reset is possible without losing all the data recorded before the reset sequence.

Skychase: Excellent find on that Mojo skipping action. I played around with it and found that you have to come out of the teleport in the middle of the room, right behind that black-spikey-hangy thing (aka just above the mojo statue in the background). If you travel just past the left torch Mojo will spawn, and the battle will start. AceofShades: I will definately have to play around some more with the Iceman deal. Juggernaut, from my initial testing, could not be skipped unless you have 1/4 or less of health (credit to Jaysmad for that one)... Sabretooth would be a great boss to skip, however iirc the the top of the level is quite low... but that is said with no testing behind it :) EDIT: So, I successfully tested your theory on Sabretooth, he can be skipped! If only there was a way to skip Juggs... I did end up with under 1/4 health, but I didnt originally plan it this way. With some polishing up, would this type of damage take away from the movie experience, or be too time consuming, etc... comments please! here is the movie http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/4648/sabretoothskip.gmv EDIT II: Can someone please explain to me wtf happened at 13495?! Crappy hit regestration (sp).

I just wanted to point out that in this bux-fix version of the emulator has a bug when taking screenshots. I press F12, and a message displays in the emulator saying "Failed to take screenshot." I also tried taking a screenshot with the non-bug-fix version of the emulator, and it was able to take a screenshot... so it appears it is only in this bug fixed version. I don't know if you have already found/fixed this bug, but figured you should know for future revisions of the emulator... keep up the good work!

Here is a demo of another route that can be taken through savage land. The beginning of the "new" route starts once I enter the first cave (Frame 1800, if fastforwarding is desired [highly suggested, embarrassing gameplay]) Here is the .gmv http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/4161/X-Men%20bottom%20route%20%28U%29%20%5B%21%5D.gmv I should also note that I have not found a way past the waterfall via the bottom rock without having to call iceman...
