I share that view kopernical. Unfortunately I'm not consistant in that view. Rocket Knight Adventures by dan_ ends when the outcome of the game can no longer be altered, and in that case it's just sweet. My point is if we should base the comparison on the actual LENGTH of the movie file (# of frames of input), or on some other measurable thing. (Hitting hammer in SMB, bankrupting all other in monopoly, final boss STARTING to die? Finished dead? credits screens coming up?) As you see, the EASIEST way is to go by the # of frames of input in movie file... This could cause some weirdass situations where a player actually uses longer time to get to credits or something... Bleh. Usage of common sense is not an option atleast, as common sense is very uncommon.

heh, Thanks for giving us your interest. I find it quite ironic, seeing as how you could have spent your time playing these console games without cheating instead of entertaining us with your opinions on a matter we clearly will disagree upon :P

yeah yeah yeah, impossible, perfect etc, just what you said last time ;) Nah, I still vote yes, even if you in the near future improve it further.

So what you are saying, is that the length of the movie should be entirely based on the number of frames saved in your movie file.

I'm glad this one was bumped, hadn't seen it before as a rather new addition to this forum.

it works fine mars, you just gotta 1: Copy the save state and movie, overwriting existing 2: Load rom 3: load movie, but CHECK THE READ ONLY BOX!!! (Otherwise you get that problem) 4: Load the savestate. Failing to check the read only box will truncate the movie file, causing it to 'end'.

That is a good path for a speedrun. Here are my suggestions: 1: If you don't need the points for the bonus diamonds, don't take them, each taken adds some time to your run when they count them up. 2: See if you can beat those defense guys by using missiles or time bombs (that you buy between level 1 or 2). You don't use any other weapons at all. 3: Improve flight path, there were some places where you could have shaven off some frames by turning faster and basically cut corners better. Otherwise, hope to see you submit something that I could vote yes for! (I would not have voted yes for this, it is far too unoptimized yet).

I kinda like it the way you are doing it now. Level by level, and doing it part by part... It gives people the ability to give feedback as you advance levels, without you getting WAY too much feedback in 1 go.

put it some site, then add [ url ] somesite.com/file [ / url ] And you can still hold down to do that trick even without he shield! As long as you hold down you can't pick up anything.

Never seen or found the warp at level 1. I don't care how boring you think this would be, I just want to see it :P And there isn't that much 'empty' area flying really. Try doing 2 first levels and ask for feedback atleast!!!!

Made a tic tac toe several years ago. It would always draw against itself, win against unsuspecting humans when starting, or always draw and/or win when human started. Not such a big woohoo, just start in a corner, take opposite corner, and if your opponent gets suckered, you have won. Otherwise it's a draw.
