I've watched about 2 minutes and already I see how suboptimal it is. I know this is a "Glitchfest" run but this just looks like it's trying to go fast with the left+right trick. The other playaround was fun and actually showcased glitches. Also fairly low amount of rerecords so I'm not sure if much effort was put in this (1.7k for over an hour of TAS). This is also the same guy who posted the Gradius TAS with a template description. I don't think he really knows how this site works yet. No vote, but don't give up.

Me, 3 minutes after the beginning of the run : "Stop! It's already dead!" This is so broken, I never know where you are going and made that surprising and very entertaining. Also, the RNG in the digging game was insane. Great job. Yes vote

When you go to record a movie from SRAM, check "Start from SRAM" and then choose the .dsv . The game will start from the beginning but with the save. You can't start from a savestate if that's what you want (as far as I know).

It is possible to speed up the process, so that the player does not have to wait very long at all. By talking to Toadbert in Toad Square after defeating Bowser Memory ML, he will tell Mario and Luigi that he was having a weird dream, which foreshadows the event in the Lumbar Nook. He mentions a code: "A B X Y L R Y X B A". When this code is entered, time speeds up and Bowser's back is healed in seconds.

The TAS I sent is different from the video, but yeah, I guess I didn't manage the pyrokinesis gauge completely perfectly. It was mostly an attempt at TASing this game, and can be improved if more time is spent.

Just checked, bus-level timing off does not save a frame per text, it does save some frames during texts though, and some loading are a bit longer with it off.

Sure, here you go : https://puu.sh/ByjJ0/78247cbe07.dsm (for some reason I can't send in in userfiles) For it to sync properly you'll need Desmume 0.9.9 with bus-level timing on, I left it on because I want a fair comparison vs RTA, saving one frame per text is a lot. Also this is done up until a bit after the fusion tutorial. Also, this one and the one in my video is not the same, I've improved them, still, I think yours are still faster.

Yeah, the dash is the fastest movement on the ground, but we can't keep this speed in the air, instead we get normal speed, only Mario can have faster movement speed in the air, and we stop between dashes. So, overall, Mario is faster.

Honestly, I understand this could very well be rejected because inprovements were found and a second TAS is being made, but I still wanted to try to submit this since it is still overall pretty optimised, I could still see this getting accepted. If you end up rejecting this movie, fine, I understand and accept it, we will work on the other TAS and submit it whenever it is completed.

Are there any plans for that challenge mode TAS, or a 100% (eventually) as well?
Challenge mode? If you mean the time trial mode we unlock by beating the game, it's basically just the normal levels but you start without eggs and have a timer, however, score reduces the final time, so a TAS that aims for a low IGT might be a possibility in the future. 100% is being worked on by Hartmann, a japanese TASer, but I don't know if he's still working on it, he is not really active in the community.

Would it be faster if you gather enough eggs in the first room of 4-6 so that you can use the Eggjumping glitch to jump over the hill around 54:45 in the run?
I didn't think of that, we'll consider trying that in the next TAS. It might end up being faster.

I don't really know, since this one will obviously be more optimised than mine. I would say it will probably be finished either close to the end of this year or a bit after the beginning of next year. Most probably next year. The reason why it's still in 3-1 even though he posted the world 2 WIP a few months ago is because he also took a break for a few months.

Link to video Road to Nowhere 50.31 3539 rerecords Featuring a really weird bounce, this beats xy2_'s tas by a frame. More improvements are probably possible if we manage to get a better bounce. This was the only way I could make it work.

Link to video 5-6 Conveyor 55.68 509 rerecords That's probably the 2nd biggest difference from WR to TAS, beating the current WR by 13.78 or 827 frames, 1st being Road to Nowhere with 14.75/885 frames, which I honestly want to give a try

12-10 Palpitation 53.73 351 rerecords Shoutouts to SilverBawxer for showing this clip, I tried to reproduce it and... there you go. Got insanely lucky on that one. Not really sure if it's possible to get it a cycle earlier, otherwise there is not much improvement here. Edit : AAAAAAH Why do I improve by a frame right after I upload something.... Just went and searched for the banana counter address. Found a few addresses that looks for bananas. 021FBF48 is the banana counter for lives (resets at 0 once it reaches 10 and adds a life). If we set it higher than 10, it will go down by 10 every frame and add a life until it's not over 10. 021FBF70 is the post world 11 counter for unlocking world 12. We can set it to 2006 to instantly unlock world 12. It cannot go up until we beat world 11, but we can change it's value anytime. It will only unlock world 12 if you have beaten world 10. Not a major thing, just felt like searching for them. Another address I found is 021FBF34, this one is for lives. It can actually go over 99, but it will only show the 2 last digits. Practice mode sets this coutner at 99, but it only does so when we enter the level the first time. It doesn't decrease in practice mode. Also, you can have it overflow at 255.

I've been trying to tie 3-1 Racket's WR and I'm just unable to reach it. I keep getting 55.93. I'm currently at 2251 rerecords and I just don't get how Silverboxer got his 55.95. If you want to try with what I've got yet, here's the file : http://tasvideos.org/userfiles/info/49076423055371651

Link to video Backslide 54.58 651 rerecords Went a bit out of order because I wanted to redo this level. Tried to get off the starting platform sooner while still having enough speed to reach the top. Ended up saving a bunch of frames.
