Nothing wrong with that, take all the time you need Vidar.

Gender has nothing to do with TASing. Can we get this thread back on topic please?

I think it's awesome that girls want to do TASes. Anyway, getting back on topic: I watched the 337 run and I must say it was amazing. Great work Vidar! As for the robot AKA and fetofs spoke of, it's the one on the right right before the checkpoint. You slaughter the one on the left and let off a charge shot for the one on the right but it's unclear if you hit it or not. Other than that the run was stunning. Keep up the good work and take all the time you need. The finished run will be worth it.

I'm not sure how you get the items, after some battles the guy was like "You got the <insert name here> item! It does this!" Maybe GameFAQs has something that explains how to get them. Once we know how I'm sure they can be manipulated and recieved when needed. I also think Hard Mode should be used. EDIT: Just checked GameFAQs and they aren't too sure either. CooperTeam's guide lists what each item does and says they are completely random except for one which can only be obtained at the second to last boss. Also lists descriptions for each mech, just as the other FAQ does. Not sure which one is better.

Ah, ok. I read through Nati's character FAQ on GameFAQs and have an idea of the formulas now. I'm going to re-read the luck manipulation FAQ on this site to refresh myself on how to do it, then I'll take a shot at a practice run up to the first dungeon and see how that goes. Hopefully it works out.

I always tried to save that V-item until the fight on a later planet. I can't remember the guy's name, he was huge though. I remember you had to fight his mother right after him. He was the one I used it on, seemed to work really well. That and the other items, I think there was a N and a D. Those were really powerful too. It could've been one of those I used on him but I can't be sure.

I'm gonna have to give this a meh. It was played well but it does look like it could be optimized better. Great job for beating it though, I could never get passed the second level myself.

Seems like he should. The trick is getting off his shield. With that gone he should fall pretty quick. I don't remember how to make him throw it at you. I think you did it by destroying his super-scope like gun on his other arm, but I can't be sure.

Yeah, that's what I figured. Question is, how do I do that? I've never done luck manipulation like this before, I could never figure it out. Which version of SNES9X should I use for this? Should I use the most recent one or wait for the 1.51 release?

Yeah that's probably what I would do. By manipulating the fights so I get the monsters I want I could easily fight S. Brains every time. How do I use the memory RNG values Nitrodon found to manipulate the fights?

True, but I'd still need to fight to get levels so I can get the stat increases. While I can manipulate fights to have multiple enemies and max exp, it would still take a while if I couldn't manipulate the fights themselves.

Heh yeah, that's what I saw. I was able to manipulate the stat increases you get when you level though. That was about it.

I killed the first guy in one charged hit once. If you can hit the spot inbetween his legs and upper body, he'll explode instantly. It's tricky to do but with frame advance it shouldn't be a problem.

Wow, never thought this thread would be dug up. This has been on my mind since my last post on this thread. I would love the chance to do a run of this but I could never figure out the luck manipulation.

I tried to download the commentary but it just took me to a link that said "This account has expired as of July 27th..."

Wow, this went really fast! I watched the WIPs and the AVIs and was very impressed. I also followed the thread closely and read about all the desynch issues and hardships that occured during the making of this run. Now that it's completel, it's a gimme. Instant YES vote. Awesome job Guano!

Just watched this and I have to vote yes. Donatello teleporting all over the place was just amazing. Great job!

So you're aiming for a 100% (or was it 105%) run? Interesting. You may need to make it "Fastest possible 100%" (or 105%) to have a chance at getting accepted though. Either way, good luck.

I was wondering what happened to this run. It was looking real good and then it just vanished like socks in a dryer. I'm glad you picked it up JXQ, it's gonna rock now. I can't wait to see more!

Nice game, very nice physics and music. They really should've brought this over to the US or something. Either way it was a really good TAS. Voting YES.

I've beaten Emerald before and I must say it is somewhat different from Ruby and Sapphire. One of the main differences is when you encounter a wild Pokémon or battle a trainer, the Pokémon will move or jump around for a second or two. All this really does is add more frames to the battle times. No big deal since I'm pretty sure you can disable it in the options menu. The story is different too. In Ruby your enemy is Team Magma and Sapphire it's Team Aqua. In Emerald it seems you are going against both of them. At first it seems that Aqua is your enemy but as the story twists and turns you wind up dealing with them both. You are able to get both Groudon and Kyogre in Emerald, as well as Rayquaza, Latios or Latias, Mew, Lugia, Hu-oh and Deoxys. There are also more trainers, the new Battle Frontier area, and a new champion. A couple of the Elite Four members use a different Pokémon too. Sidney (the first guy) replaced his Sharpedo with Crawdaunt and Drake (the fourth guy) replaced one of his Flygon with a Kingdra. The champion is no longer Steven but someone else. I don't want to spoil it for anyone so I won't reveal his identity. I will say he uses water types instead of steel types. Another thing to consider is there is a character named Scott that you run into from time to time. When you encounter him he just blabs for a few seconds then walks away. You never have to fight him but it's just more frames to worry about. As for your rival, he/she is still the same. You do meet that Wally guy in different spots after the first however. He is towards the beginning of Victory road instead of on the way out. That's all I can remember right now, if I think of anything else I'll post it. I hope this helps.

That's fine. I still don't know where I can shoot enemes inbetween scenery. So, who else can we get to judge this?

Yeah that's the one I was talking about. I'm gonna have to fiddle with it and see how fast I could get it to work because it would be much faster to use the glitch than not to use it. There is so much that could be skipped if you were invincible. I'm glad you liked the run so far.
