I'm still not understanding how "10 clicks" is all that bad, given this is a site of making movies of games frame-by-frame with extreme care (ideally). Personally, I feel if the person/people took out the time to make a publishable movie then the least I can do is spend the, what, 30-seconds tops outside of watching the TAS to give them some - if ambiguous - feedback. That said, I do think jlun makes a good point in that there's no reason to be brought to a separate page just to bring up a mostly similar page, just with a box at the bottom.

This is a really nice idea. I've been trying to do my part and rate movies that I've seen or voted on to help. Hopefully this will get others on board.

I agree with Smash and repeat what I said in the first Super Pitfall submission thread:
Not to be rude, but should this conversation be moved to the game's thread? It just seems a bit odd that all of this theoretical discussion and technical route and glitch planning is going on in a submission poll thread of what is (ideally) supposed to be a finished run. Wouldn't it make more sense to cancel/delay this submission and then come back after all of the teas have been dotted and the eyes have been crossed?

BizHawk doesn't support 16-button SNES controllers that's needed for the Arbitrary Code Execution part where button input is executed as code.
Huh, didn't know that (although, I've never done anything that required it). Regardless, this is a really good improvement, and it's good to see Ceres more optimized now - personally, I'd rather see real-time improvement over IGT, so this is much appreciated. It's funny how relatively small the individual improvements are, but they really stand out if you follow the previous TASes and know about the intricate movement the game, and TAS has to offer. Obvious yes vote.

Total totally (heh) saved me when I mistakenly made most of this TAS on Bizhawk instead of lsnes. Oops. >_>
Maybe this is a dumb question, but why is BizHawk bad in this case? Overall I'm gonna have to wait for a temp.

But seriously quite a bad game that reminded me more of those short flash games on newgrounds and various sites. Sorry voted no.
^ This feels more like a demo more so than a full-fledged game, to be honest. While, as far as I can tell, this isn't a bad TAS technically on your end, the game itself offers extremely little in the way of entertainment.

The publication seems to be missing the "heavy glitch abuse" tag. Does this not qualify?

I always love ACE TASes, they tend to be extremely detail oriented and this one is no exception. Yes vote.

Wow, Moose, it's cool to see you finish the Richter All Bosses TAS. Regardless of how you feel about it I certainly enjoyed it. With Psxhawk do you have any interest in the new ACE stuff?

I've begun working with this game again using BizHawk 1.11.0 One thing I found in the process is that due to the more accurate nature of BizHawk's emulation I lost 191 frames during the loading screens before the first stage. Despite this I was able to squeeze 6 frames out of the first stage itself. http://tasvideos.org/userfiles/info/24248296849249841 The re-record count is fairly low due to using multiple instances of BizHawk to test out different strats - I like being able to look and compare things side-by-side as well as compare to the current publication. I plan on looking deeper into possible damage glitches (akin to the Sentinel boss fight) and I'd be interested in suggestions others may have.

Even stronger yes vote. This game has come a long way. The old run (the current publication) and this run are worlds apart in terms of route/tech. Love how this turned out.

The currently published run is on the same difficulty.
Personally, I'd rather see a slightly slower movie done on hard mode. But that's just me. Although, if someone wants to clue me into just how much slower we'd be talking it probably give me a different perspective. I was going to link to the movie rules where it mentioned using the hardest difficulty to add to another point I was meaning to make, but looking through the movie rules now I don't see it. Was this rule done away with or something and I missed it?

I'm not going to lie, part of why I can gain some entertainment out of the cut scene bits is my nostalgia for the show. But if we're to look at this game from an objective standpoint... well, how many other games where, I think it's safe to say, 60% of it is cut scenes would make it to moons? Hell, I'd say the other penguin game had a lot better interactivity/cut scene ratio. Don't get me wrong, due to nostalgia I can find the game itself entertaining and I don't think this is a bad TAS whatsoever, but I can understand how a general viewer might raise an eyebrow. Then again, I'm not certain how this run got to moons. But that's just me.

Jeez, with all of these time saves what's the estimated time of the run? It's gotta be nearing the sub-5 mark by this point.

I love how through new tech you can eliminate "uses death to save time" as one of the objectives and can add "major glitch abuse".

At this point, I have improved my film, this time by 51 frames. Will be finished, but may have to take a second look, I think I lost a few frames somewhere. But probably we will have saved more than 8 seconds over the race Kurabupengin. : D I will not cancel, but replace the file. It will not be long before the finish.
Cool, I'd really love to see how far this can be pushed. It seems like a simple game (and I guess it is) but there's quite a bit that's interesting and precise from a TAS standpoint.
