If you want to see a prince TAS you don't need to do that, there is a very simpler (and agreeable) way: stop demanding others to do it and do it yourself! And if you can't, just work hard in order to become a good TASer just like everyone did before you.

Rescue Shot is an unconventional shooter game by Namco, got infamous in Italy because in was illegally sold as a fake PSX Pokémon game. The story revolves around Bo, an anthropomorphous bunny which travels in order to gather the so called Dream Fragments and get back his memories. In my opinion, this is a low budget developed game which accidentally got way better than what predicted, expecially about the musics. The gameplay consists in protecting him aganist any possible danger by shooting to enemies, objects and influencing his movements by shooting directly at him. The game is sort of arcade stage-based, with few alternative routes. I decided to pick the Japanese version of the game (Rescue Shot Bubibo) because the only other version is European. In order to achieve the fastest game completion time possible, it is necessary to exploit the ability to force Bo to jump forward, by shooting at his lower back as often as possible. In the meantime, I try to get as many Dream Fragments as possible, kill as many enemies as possible, and get as much score as possible. Here is my first WIP encode: Link to video

For anyone who doesn't already know: I found the game I was looking for in this link and I already thanked MUGG in chat. By the way, there is a game I played about 15 years ago or so, a space vertical scroller, for NES probably, in which at some point you have to fight a face which is immune to any attacks and you die all of a sudden for apparently no reason if you don't keep moving. The boss dies by himself if you keep yourself alive for enough time. Edit: oh, and another thing... This is actually important... Some years ago I got on a site about cool Windows indie games, and I've seen a video of a run and gun game which was awesome beyond words. Very dynamic gameplay packed of attacks to dodge. I remember to have seen something like a Chinese dragon, and I'm not sure to remember if it was an enemy or the player character.

Such a thing would bar us from accepting a run, as it'd be distributing a bunch of other games.
Uhhh... the legality of this TAS is already questionable. It contains a bunch of music code ripped from other games, sprites ripped from other games, one copyrighted song and one copyrighted video clip.
Well, the movie file actually contains just video and audio, coded in order to be "played" on lsnes emulator. Also, these are some very little clips and the author didn't get a cent for this, so I don't think this may offend the copyright holders. On the other hand, there are a lot of youtubers getting paid for showing very long gameplays which in many cases contains all the stuff you can see in this run. And about the Spongebob clip: c'mon, it's just 3 seconds long.

Great job, really. Expecially with planning the storyline: it has great effect. By the way; I see feeding data via button inputs has a limit in terms of speed, but what about data coming from the Game Link port?...

I disagree here. I think it's ok to turn SFX off in this case. This run is way faster than the currently published one, but it still has much repetitiveness, and earing the same sound effect for whole minutes is not exactly what I'd call a pleasant watching experience. So I'm voting Yes. By the way, I'd really prefer to have SFX on for any other case.

So, I had an idea while watching this run: [2285] GBA Densetsu no Stafy "demo glitch" by jlun2 in 03:28.68 In this run, a major skip is managed by making the second demo play to desync, and thus getting control like if it was an actual play. This resulted in getting all levels unlocked right away. The fact is that Devil Island also features demo plays, which of the second shows the Ultimate Flail in action, which is the item required to unlock the final boss fight. If only there were to be found a way to exploit this demo, the game would get beaten in the blink of an eye. It looks like the game completely locks all inputs during the demos, except the Start button, which only allows to stop playing the demo and get back to the title screen. I tried playing a bit with the RAM; I made the demo desync by lowering the hero's health, but this didn't unlock the inputs and the demo still ended the moment was planned by its internal timer. I also tried lowering the hero's lives in order to trigger the game over title: this unlocked the inputs and delayed the demo timer, but after pressing on "continue" the game got back to the title screen anyway. Edit: I succeeded. [3471] GBC Devil Island "demo glitch" by ThunderAxe31 in 02:10.27

I have to give a Meh vote. I see you did a good job with the TASing but the gameplay is pretty repetitive and the graphics are horrible. Still, I'm curious about how would be a run done on Normal difficulty, because I feel like it would be interesting to see the enemies killed with some clever attack combinations and some actual health management to cope with the taking-damage abuse.

The only problem I had was with the conversion from bk2 to tasproj. Every time we launch TAStudio while a bk2 movie is running, it is converted but it still starts a new movie. The solution seems to be to close TAStudio immediatly after confirming it (maybe the emulator too? I'm not sure), then launch it again and open the converted tasproj.
Try to do this: open TAStudio > File > Open > File type > All files > *your .bk2 file* Works just fine for me with 1.11.9.1 Edit: Invariel 20 seconds faster :O thankfully my life is not a TASing contest. :)

Faster F glitch? I found a glitch that allows you to fire F faster. (The glitch occurs at the beginning of the mothership part where you get 2 F). If you get a new F right after you finish using up all of another F, you can fire 2 shots of F within a few frames. It seems that if all you do is fire F, then you can fire the second shot just 2 frames after the first shot. For some reason, if you crouch, throw a bomb, or try to use turn around cancel, the rate you can fire F becomes slightly slower (have to wait about 4~6 frames), but it goes back to being just 2 frames after some time. This does not work when you try to go from big F to normal F (tested this in the last part before rootmars2). I think this will be really useful for rootmars2 and might even make it better to get F instead of G from the redballs.
Neat, but be aware of lag.

Hi players. I know most of you are having a hard time trying to beat the game by playing it casually. I wanted to tell you that during the analyzing part, you may use code cheating (aka game hacking) to make it simpler to explore the game. I'm not going to explain you how to do this, but know that Google is your friend and BizHawk has all of the most common emulator tools. Good luck. Edit: you may ask me for help with TAStudio. I know much about how to use it, and I even found some ways to workaround crashes.

I like this run more than the 1-player one. In most games, 2-players runs do obsolete 1-player ones, because of the higher entertaining value, technical value, and faster time. But this case is different, because the routes are very different, so I personally think should be created 2 separete branches.

I think you misunderstood... TASVideos rules are aganist my idea because it involves an hacked saveRAM state-starting movie. The real problem is that Monster Hunter Tri servers are not operative anymore... So hacking the game is literally the only known way to access online-exclusive game contents. And the only way to do so without breaking TASVideos' rules, would be to use Arbitrary Code Execution by a clean movie. Quite hard, but still possible.

Link to video I have a dream. My dream is to see a TAS of Monter Hunter Tri featuring a full hunt of Jhen Mohran. "But of course this is impossible, since it can only be accessed online" would you say, right? Well, are you really really sure about the 'impossible' part? First of all, more than one person found a way to hack the game in order to be able to hunt Jhen Mohran in offline. And this have brought me to the idea of doing a run starting from hacked saveRAM. But of course, this would break TASVideos run submission rules, so the run itself would remain unofficial. The other idea is to ACE the thing. But I have no data about anyone achieving anything like a game-breaking bug that may bring to be able to do that. Succeeding in such feat goes far, far over my possibilities, but the dream remains. Until the day I or anyone in the world would do it. I still keep wondering how awesome would be. What kinda of superhuman tricks would be used. What kind of route planning. And how fast would be comparing to the solo world record. Well, what I can provide for the moment, is data about the game mechanics. There are a lot of informations that could be used to have a very fast Jhen Mohran kill, while at the same time giving a very entertaining fight, unlike most video in which the player just keeps hitting the same spot most of the time. The weapon to use would ineed be the bowgun, because of its ability to hit Jhen Mohran before it get very close to the ship, and also because of its ability to hit the most vulnerable spot of this monter's body: the inner mouth. Jhen Mohran guide: https://www.gamefaqs.com/wii/943655-monster-hunter-tri/faqs/60456 Bowgun guide: https://www.gamefaqs.com/wii/943655-monster-hunter-tri/faqs/59978 Bowgun damage formula: https://www.gamefaqs.com/wii/943655-monster-hunter-tri/faqs/59704 Cheat codes: http://geckocodes.org/?c=RMHE08 I really hope someone with the necessary knowledge and experience will consider to try to realize this.
