https://youtu.be/KHEn7tNtpcA https://www.speedrun.com/pkmnrbyext#RedBlue_-_Catch_em_All The PSR community hasn't worked on this run as far as I know, it was originally submitted partially as part of April Fools and the new routing is even more of a judging nightmare

You missed this line: "There will likely be another TCG1 ACE submission, as I found an input improvement in the deck edit, and would like to apply this brute force technique to it as well, while at the same time having the final product be console-verified. That should be the last one..." Also 100% in TCG is usually considered All Cards

Who scores Uno? Your family has it right, this game is weird I like it but it's so short. getting that RNG sounds painful.

From ISSOtm: BG palettes are all white, OBJ palettes are random except the first byte of palette RAM is guaranteed to be 0

The quarantine isn't ultimately about preventing disease spread anymore. As many as 60% of people will get the virus unless they keep us quarantined forever. The hope is that a temporary quarantine will bide enough time that hospitals can prepare to treat those who are symptomatic and develop better methods of treatment, so that people don't die due to lack of available care.

Heh there will always be the argument of "how it would've looked like on a GB/GBC/GBA" vs "how it's specified to look in the code." The correct choice can vary heavily per-game since some games were colored to correct for the GBA screen and some weren't.

I did a more thorough split by split comparison of frame times to more accurately account for the timesave. We actually save 3.5s on the weedle fight, 2 seconds on route 3, 2 seconds on Misty, a second on Nugget bridge, 2 seconds from the new flyer, 6.5s on Koga accounting for the Elixer saved in the Blaine split, and another second from the flyer cry at the PC on the Lorelei split. The other random 7-8 frame diffs are caused by a different move order. New Old Diff Split 26397 26401 -4 -4 Weedle Guy Start 29189 29404 -215 -211 Exit Forest 36212 35375 +837 +1052 Brock 53124 52402 +722 -115 Enter Moon 64976 64249 +727 +5 Exit Moon 76609 75992 +617 -110 Misty 92412 91844 +568 -49 Nugget Bridge 126988 126403 +585 +17 Surge 160098 160689 -591 -1176 Fly 185039 185622 -583 +8 Poke Flute 206289 207154 -865 -282 Koga 244815 245789 -974 -109 Blaine 252129 253110 -981 -7 Erika 258263 259254 -991 -10 Sabrina 269968 270945 -977 +14 Giovanni 298153 299192 -1039 -62 Lorelei 302168 303200 -1032 +7 Bruno 306662 307701 -1039 -7 Agatha 311923 312966 -1043 -4 Lance 317990 319041 -1051 -8 Champion

If you wanted to compile a collection of good emulators including GB and GBC you wouldn't touch VisualBoyAdvance. Suggesting that shows you did little research before posting this, which is also revealed by EZGames's point about Kega Fusion being closed source (which means it's known that you don't have permission to use it). It reads more like a naive list of game consoles you like and what emulators you use. What is Retroarch missing that requires building another collection of emulators?

Maybe we just reorder the settings in the UI to give console mode that top priority?

Understood, I was just remembering some confusion this caused for ViGadeomes https://github.com/TASVideos/BizHawk/issues/1854

Yeah I've heard that currently Gambatte only uses GB in the header even with GBC in sync settings. Could be something to look into.

Alyosha, if you need any more movies to test: Super Mario Land 1.0 and 1.1 have resyncs TwistedTammer's LADX syncs almost as-is Mickey's Chase has that resync you just mentioned Pokemon Blue/Yellow NSC and Glitchless (I know you've tested some of these before) Pokemon Crystal Glitchless (I believe you tested this one as well) Pokemon TCG should have console-syncable movies soon

The regression in interim builds was fixed, so this game is working properly in BizHawk interim again.

Can the movie rules be updated per the above? Perhaps something like: "GB->GB or GBC-in-GBA GB with SGB enhancements->GB, SGB, or GBC-in-GBA GBC->GBC or GBC-in-GBA GBC-in-GBA is allowed due to the support for console verification using the Game Boy Player"

This run is 27:41.61 when played back on console and when timed to the cycle in emulator. Here's my archival YT upload of a console verification of the run on GBP https://youtu.be/zvWXMFkJjC4

To me, most of the entertainment comes from knowing the history of the category, with years of memes about a tutorial skip and the category being previously completely glitchless, to now see a tutorial skip into a credits warp is hilarious (not to mention technically intricate). However, at the same time I can understand how a viewer with no context might find a video that is essentially half the tutorial and a few deck edits to be highly lacking in entertainment. Which is unfortunate, as the full gameplay for TCG goes so fast as to make it equally difficult to watch.

Something that may help this research: https://github.com/kaspermeerts/supermarioland It looks like there has been some amount of disassembly work on this game.

https://youtu.be/BfxDRLrz2eo Has anyone tried to reproduce this glitch before? It would be great if we could figure out how to reproduce it. There appears to be some way to cause objects to spawn offset from the expected positions, which allows for a faster 4-2.

You're right - I might have been building bizhawk in debug mode on accident making it run slower, but the sound isn't there either way

Oh that reminds me I tried to see if GBHawk would play LIJI''s gbvideoplayer2 demos but they don't run anywhere near at full framerate so I couldn't really tell if they were accurate

Twistedtammer was a little off describing what we'd been verifying with Pokemon, but his TAS wasn't :) this TAS has been console verified by both entrpntr and dwangoac, without any modifications beyond the usual export lua script and getting SRAM to match EMU (FFs) https://pastebin.com/DXiDT9ZT ^how the console playback is done I'll post a link as soon as I have video archived of the verification.
