Of course you will get a 0:23 with the optimization level you got going on. How couldn't you? I knew about this whole 49'15 a long time ago, I just didn't mention it to you earlier I think. :-P This site is full of godlike TASers.

Nope, it's not because of emu changes. It's a true gain which can be done on any emulator, since the only differences to the newer ones are the door transitions and loading parts which don't affect a run at all in-game wise. That run gets one year old soon. Maybe I will drop a small teaser of the Ceres part for you guys to see then, as a sign of celebration. :-)
Yeah Ceres teaser!! And one thing that I have to say now: Cpadolf, I told you 49'15 was possible! :)

To be honest you don't really hear the music when playing with frame advance. :-P What I like more is doing a really really good part from landing until green Brinstar, it's nice when your fingers get to rest as that elevator goes down and you hear the music. (in skill-based speedrunning) And are you really serious? 49'15?? Is that because of the emulator changes or have you really improved JXQ's frame counts? Me want to see. :)

Thanks for the tip, but I'll just do this TAS this way. I don't really at this point care if I lose a whole minute or so to you other guys' runs, I'll make this one my run. :) I'll pretty much try to get the same frame counts but if I lose like 1-5 frames at some rooms especially in complex ones I don't mind/care now. Green Brinstar music has always been my favorite one from the whole game. The second is probably the victorious music at gunship. :)

I actually compared to your unfinished RBO-run, but so many tricks have been found after you started that run I think that's the main reason. Haha I can't even get the same frame counts in Ceres with JXQ, I'm already losing a frame at the third room. I think I'll just still go with it, as my first frame advance using TAS I don't think I even need to tie up with JXQ. He's godlike.

This is just boiling my brains. In non-assisted speedrunning you only kept beating my times. But what do you know, now you're beating my, moozooh's, saturn's, and god knows how many other players' times. You're something special CPadolf, I'm amazed. I've only tied in frames with JXQ in the first room in Ceres hahaha. I did it like 2 am and was too tired to go on, maybe today I'll hopefully get the whole Ceres done if I try enough. :) This is fun.

http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/246355426/Tonski%20-%20Ceres%20Station%20improved.smv I used memory watch with finding the pixel positions where the doors open and improved this in other places too, such as those smoke puffs' manipulation and small optimizations. :) I'm not happy with the last room though, it just looks slower than Hero's any% TAS. I looked some pointers from that TAS as I tried to improve my Ceres. Still any help? How do you like it? Any comments are appreciated.

Thanks P.JBoy, Vivi57 and moozooh. :) Now that I know what I did wrong I'll probably give it another shot today with memory watcher moozooh gave me link on.

http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/1177388297/Tonski%20-%20Ceres%20Station%20test.smv I did a test on Ceres Station first time ever using frame advance, I must say I'm very disappointed in this one. Could you guys give me some tips and tell what I did wrong?

And I do plan on stopping the public releases of the test run, but I'm not sure when. The next WIP should already give an idea on what route I am going to take (that is, being a spoiler), but I'm not yet sure how far I am willing to take it. If you have any opinion on that matter, I'm ready to hear it. Btw, Cpadolf is making some good progress at TASing SM. Wanna compete with him?
Yeah, my opinion pretty much is not to reveal too much tricks/route/timesavers about your run as that leaves people more excitement when watching the actual run, and they'll be waiting for it a lot more. You see, when you've seen WIP's covering like 50% of the run you just want to skip it until the run is totally new to you (unless it's something very good) because you've already seen it. CPadolf has always been ultimate godlike in comparison to me. :D I couldn't match him, still I will try some day when I start my run. I'll probably pretty much use the same route he does, aiming for the fastest ingame-time. In other words, I'd have to get 24 min ingame-time to beat his best TAS. Although he didn't succeed in his Phantoon 1 round, I will be trying to. It's all about how much spare time I have on my hands, if I'm too busy I won't bother starting this TAS any time soon, and I'd have to learn frame advance using instead of only 2% speed I've been using. I'd have to learn how to use memory watches too to be able to skip Torizo. I hope you guys will help me out with that stuff. :) Saturn: Okay I see your point. Hero of the day: You should've seen the smile on my face when I read that. :-D 33 seconds over your old run and you're only collecting the Gravity Suit? I think that's a lot considering how early you basically are in the run. I'm still putting my hopes on sub 40 min real-time TAS. :) I know it's possible.

Woah! o_O Those are probably the fastest WIP's I've ever seen. I still think you should stop releasing any more WIP's, you know the more you release them the more people know about your run and the less surprising it's going to be when watching the final run. At least I'm seeing it this way, only a thought. :) The excitement would make people wait the run much more. I personally today used frame advance/2% speed for the first time in my life and got under the first super missile gates without mockball. It was quite nice to watch what I personally did. Some day this year I might start a serious TAS using that frame advance, as this recent semi-TAS of mine at www.youtube.com/TonskiTAS is only played at 24% speed or so. Saturn you said you did an any% run very far and 80-85% of the rooms were frame perfect and then you did the run to the end very badly with hardly many savestates used right? Ummm... Is this test run or so available anywhere? I'd like to see it. :)

How many missile packs are you going to take? Since Phantoon 1 round is possible with 2 I don't see any reason to take more, unless very needed later in game. Found even more timesavers? SMV's or some kind of explanations would be nice. :) I'm amazed how can there even be more timesavers when watching the old any% TAS.

Evilchen I just watched your latest 10.smv that got all the way to Tourian, and those speed walljumps were just awesome! That's probably my favorite trick in Super Metroid. It would be nice to see it in all TAS runs. Kudos for that. And Hero, your last runs realtime was something around 40 min am I correct? Do you think it's possible that with NTSC Torizo skip and several other timesavers found it's possible to go clearly to the 39 min side?

I kinda continued my run, I'm at LN elevator at the moment. Hero pretty cool. Didn't Saturn get the same clock in his RBO? Speaking about it Saturn how are your runs going? And could someone please advice me how to get the frame counter to be there when I'm TASing? I've never used it and I think it might make me do better TASes.

Hero of the day did you do this video from your own run? I mean is this sickdeal account yours? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YHtJz1803bM I gotta say I liked it a lot. Just found it randomly. I'll say short what I think that can be fixed in the next run, just an idea: All the 4 main boss rooms should be entered abusing the turnaround to trigger door transition earlier.

I just watched Kraidyness after hunting for ZM (U).gba. Man it was worth it! :) I've never seen so optimized moves in Zero Mission. It's just outstanding. I'm pretty sure Rio Room was HBJ'd, but that question moozooh brought up came to my mind too. Is it possible to freeze those flies into a bridge?

I just watched pretty many SMV's actually, they all worked with me and I'm using v. 1,43. Anyway, if I noticed right damage boost doesn't have its own smv? http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/5739/damage%20boost.smv

Okay, so if I understood this right: The Super Metroid Tricks page is updated by moozooh, we need to record smv's for different tricks there? If this is the case I'll check the site and see what trick doesn't have smv yet and record it, okay?

I've actually never seen Horizontal bomb jumping in SM. I guess skipping the WS lake missile tank or getting to Gravity Suit by horizontal bomb jumping would be quite like Rio Room 9% TAS in ZM, no? I think the run should be called "MetroidElitest run".

I just downloaded the VBA emu or whatever and ZM rom, but I can't watch Kraidyness no matter how much I want. :'( Any ideas what might be wrong? I guess it's the different rom (version), but since it's the first time I'm using this GBA emulator to play a TAS I wouldn't know.

Thanks Moozooh, I guess I misunderstood. :P Too bad you can't skip Botwoon, although the fight makes a nice add to it I'd love to see how you could skip that worm. P.JBoy, sounds great, but I don't think would 9% and any% Kejardon runs be reasonable. I mean the 9% most certainly, but if that's done I don't know why to do an any% run the same way. Wouldn't it just be the same run but with some more items collected? (some which aren't necessary at all?

I'd actually like to see as many Super Metroid TASes as possible. :) All those runs discussed in page 69 interest me a lot. One question though: How could RBO be a NBMB run at any way? It doesn't make any sense, as RBO has to defeat all the 4 main bosses, just in exactly the opposite order that's meant to. NBMB (No Boss Mini Boss) in other case doesn't kill any bosses (except Torizo, and even that's if played on console) but aims for getting as many items as possible without killing any bosses. I can't link RBO and NBMB to eachother. If someone can somehow please explain to me too. :)
