The whole point of donor boards is that I do _not_ need to modify anything; I run the exact ROMs that match the inputfile. As Kirby has two PRG versions I don't need to hunt for PRG0. I'd still like to verify against actual copies of the games. To see what a donor board looks like with EPROMs populated, look at the Double Dragon verification video (in the description for [485] NES Double Dragon by Phil in 08:57.47. This also allows me to verify against ROM hacks. Re: Kirby specifically, it doesn't sync...looks like an emulation timing problem. Re: my device, Kirby doesn't run on it. Kirby is on the NES. My device is just a glorified controller. There are numerous improvements to playback vs other designs (look at SMW total control for example). My new device will bring even more improvements.

Have TKROM and SLROM donor boards; have verified Double Dragon and have been working with Kirby's Adventure. Parts for the board come in next week so maybe I should start on firmware development... edit: new page, board I am referencing is here edit 2: Major problem with boards. I have had the boards for over a week now I think and I should have noticed it. I should have noticed it before I even sent them out for fab. Anyway these PCBs are useless and I wasted 5 hours soldering a lot of expensive parts to a board so I am not very happy nor motivated.

I've tested a number of combinations with MESHUGGAH and the only result on console has been this same screen. So at least this implementation of the bug, as played on FCEUX, won't work on console.

OK, I can the two: The old submission TASeditor posted gets through the first level, but doesn't get through the star door... Kirby UFO didn't get the edge boost to go high enough to enter it. The run MUGG posted does the same thing.

If it wasn't mentioned already, the outcome of the "stone in water" glitch is different between PRG0 and PRG1 versions. You might need to console verify with both versions.
As I said in the thread, I verified against the same version used for the movie - PRG0. Should I really burn PRG1?

And here is an old TAS I dug out that you might want to try console verifiying too.
Will try that as well as what TASeditor posted after work.

OK, tried it - the UFO is one pixel shy of getting over the first wall and gets stuck on it.

Crashes with similar / same screen as before on console.

Console DEVERIFIED Syncs all the way up until the glitch, but the glitch performs differently; instead of credits, I get a gray palette (maybe the same one as the gameboy level), a normal statusbar, and a glitched play area with a constant loud tone. This was run with a PRG0 romset on a TKROM donor board created from a file with the same hash matching the submission. (so it is not PRG difference) Edit: I added R to the last frame of movie (as is the opposite of instructed to get non-glitched ending? maybe I'm not understanding) and I get this, which is basically exactly what I see on console. I didn't confirm the noise yet. http://i.imgur.com/ymlCUG1.png Edit 2: I understand what to do now. I re-ran with non-glitched ending - same result as above.

What is the latest WIP from power-on? I can try to console verify.

My PCBs for the next generation replay device should have been in by now; hopefully I will have them this week. Still don't have the parts for a complete assembly but I should be able to get started developing. I just ordered a TKROM board and some SLROM boards. edit: maybe this gives you an idea of what I am trying to do

Tried console verifying, but desyncs at some point during the countdown - the countdown doesn't match the run, and a damage boost fails.

Doubtful it is uninit RAM - they were able to re-run IIRC - but it could be dirty SRAM and a bug / old feature accessing something there, could be an issue with my mask ROM, or who the hell knows. I am still borrowing an NES...keeping a lookout for a deal on another NES and whatever games I can get. Until I get at least another Zelda cart I am stuck on this game.

Doesn't sync on my console. The enemy at 3972 gets killed, Link goes to a little to the left, save+reset, and syncs up until the rock (because the rock crusher part wasn't picked up). Tried every variant I can think of, but this is deterministic - I get deterministic desyncs with prior runs too. Others got prior runs to sync on Zelda II so I don't know what is different. I cracked open the case and it has NES-AL-0 PRG mask rom, 1mbit 28-pin. Unless a bit in the ROM is bad, or some SRAM other than what is in the save is being used somewhere...

Sega doesn't disappoint when it comes to annoying sound effects and the most suicide inducing loud announcers in videogames. If you're into killing yourself and all that. If you weren't before, you might be now.

I meant to verify this as soon as it was submitted, but I've been busy being overworked and puking. Once I get done puking again I'll see if I feel well enough to run this one. (Note: I couldn't get previous Zelda II runs to sync. Not sure if this one will be any different.)

I only read that the glitch has been verified, not that a recorded / reproducible version has been...

Do you mean exploiting a specific error in the emulator? Because if not, there are probably a few runs that have emulator inaccuracies and don't sync, and thus rely on the emulation error. (I believe River City Ransom is one such game)
