the one who "intentionally not included" an ignore function is the phpBB guys, the reason probably being "too much work". phpBB2 does not have ignore lists, and it's impossible to add them without rewriting half of the board. phpBB3 finally has ignore lists, but it isn't finished yet and it's unknown whether bisqwit will upgrade this board. He's made lots of modifications to phpBB2 and has several scripts directly accessing forum data (mostly user data), those mods and scripts would need to be rewritten when upgrading the board. If you really really need technical help to ignore someone, you'll need to write your own custom css / transparent proxy / greasemonkey-script / whatever.

What is the proper antonym of single anyway?
"whipped". Funny, I wouldn't know a proper word in any language I know (German, English, French, PHP), except for paraphrasing ("I'm in a relationship", "I'm seeing someone", "I have a girlfriend" or whatever). Don't worry though, the language will become easier once you're engaged or married - or broke up.

This is the run I've been waiting for for years. Will watch it a couple of times, then vote something along the lines of 'yes'.

Single again since two months, far from being married (and hopefully even further from having children).

I'd love to, but for some reason your run desyncs right at the beginning. I probably got a different / bad rom. ~/emulation/gameboy/GBA-Roms> md5sum 1252\ -\ Prince\ of\ Persia\ The\ Sands\ of\ Time\ \(E\).gba 02ac5505ff0db2206b859e2c5f912b6f 1252 - Prince of Persia The Sands of Time (E).gba does that match yours?

it's too late to change your run in progress anyway, so I don't mind your choice (actually, agree with it). There's just this thing about low% and item/speed-tradeoffs that doesn't quite mix.

Besides, I really don't think you'd be happy watching a run that has 1/3 of its length spent on screen transitions (unavoidable) and another 1/3 spent on repeated out-of-room shenanigans and pause screens (partly avoidable).
yes, I would. You've lost the impatient viewer who demands non-stop action anyway when you spend two weeks bomb jumping into tourian - those viewers are better off watching the any% or 100% runs. A kejardon run derives it's entertainment value from other things, mainly the novelty value and the display of some game-breaking glitches. It's these kinds of runs I can show to my friends - on speedruns they'll go "oh, well, he's kinda fast, meh", but with glitch-runs, they'll keep watching. IMHO using the pause glitch isn't just the right ideological choice, but also the right choice for a good TAS. Glitches all the way, baby! So, let's happily disagree. I'm still looking forward to your run :) Also, in soviet russia, cocks suck you.

What's wrong with the pause screen abuse? IMHO that glitch fits quite well into a run that's already glitched beyond recognition. It's not like you need to get to lower norfair with it, I'd deem it acceptable.

you did have varia, but at that point you did shoot all the blocks, then started rolling. It's possible you didn't lose time doing it though, still looked weird. regardless, yes vote.

around frame 62000, when you return right after killing the metroid, you're shooting the upper row of blocks instead of just rolling underneath. Any reason for that? otherwise it looked fine.

nice to hear that you're working on this :) IMHO the most entertaining (but also somewhat arbitrary) way to deal with competitions is: first run: go purely for score, land the combo just before time runs out second run: get the stats, throw in a bunch of combos to reach the gold medal, then end the competition showing a second 1-minute-combo probably wouldn't be a good idea, since the second run will either look mostly the same (boring!), or get a different score (showing that the other run wasn't optimal). getting the stats first is probably a little slower in the menu, but might allow for higher competition scores if you spend them between runs, so that's an option too. If you want to be a bit less arbitrary, you could state your goals as I mentioned here, do one 1-minute competition run that picks up all stats (in one combo), then a second 1-minute-run that'll go purely for score. I'm not sure about stats. Since they're collectible in the levels they should be taken on a 100% run, so you'll need to do the bonus levels as well. You might call the run an "all-goal" run instead of 100% and simply ignore the stats though, adding a bit more arbitrariness to the definition. If it was my call, getting the stats and bonus levels is probably more interesting than watching the credits. I rarely sit through the credits when watching runs anyway.

Dear Fabian, on the off-chance that you actually care, my problem has been sorted out. There was a good opportunity to get back to that topic yesterday (wasn't planned, just lucky) and it turned out she hadn't even taken our response seriously, she just felt a little insulted because that was obviously no polite reply to the question. I apologized, set the record straight, we've talked for about 5 hours, and all was well. thanks again for your point of view on the issue, it did help.

because the communication between the emulator core and the video plugin isn't one-way. If the core just sends instructions to the video plugin to display there's no chance of desyncs, but the video plugin has access to the emulation core and can change things. Don't ask me about details, but it'll probably communicate things like "finished drawing that polygon" or similar stuff. If the timing of those events isn't deterministic and/or depends on your video hardware you can get desyncs. If your video plugin doesn't correctly save/restore it's state, you can get desyncs.

just watched it, most excellent. Liked the levels where you cleared the last three blocks at the same time :) I completely agree on the choice of no laser. Was a bit surprised to see the boss that soon.

Dear Bisqwit, if you met God, and he'd offer to answer three of your questions. What would you ask him? if he offered to change three things in this world to your liking, what would those be? greetings Tub

Luck manipulation was not used.
Why not? What makes this movie stand out when compared to an unassisted game? 350 rerecords isn't much, how were they used?

I'm not really sure what you meant exactly by acting mating-ready around chicks and all that.
well, acting like you'd want sex. Which includes, but is not limited to, gazing at certain parts of her body. Looks like you don't care much, which is probably ok if your friends can handle it (or even accept it as a compliment). :)

These lasts couple of posts of yours tell me you're probably not aggressive enough around girls. I mean girls you actually like, not your friends. Do you agree?
I'm not entirely sure what you're talking about. What do you mean by being "aggressive", and why can't I "actually like" friends? Well, I'll try my best to answer: Sure, I'm an antisocial geek and shy (who on this forum isn't?), but if there's a girl I want, I'm not going to sit at home waiting for her to fall in love with me. She'll know, sooner or later, and I'll do my best to be presentable (the things you mentioned to Warp). The problem with offense is that I wouldn't get subtle hints to stop, and I don't want to annoy her to the point that it'll ruin a friendship.

Dear Fabian, thanks for the advice, your thoughts were helpful. One particular phrasing bothers me though, so here's another question.
Fabian wrote:
She's used to it and as long as she hears an indication she's not the only target of your sexual fantasies, it'll blow over.
She's not the target of my sexual fantasies, I have a strict no-nasty-thoughts-about-friends-policy. That's not always easy to follow (especially in summer), but I found that not allowing nasty thoughts at all helps avoiding those thoughts when she's around, and thus allows me to act more naturally and to resist the urge to stare at her boobies. Are you less inhibited about fantasizing than me? How do you deal with the problem of acting mating-ready around girls? Do you simply not care, do you use other tactics, or is that just not a problem for you?

A consensus of the run, some of you propose would be "complete 100% of the game except the gaps and with one skater only, completing as fast as possible but skating the full minute in the competitions and allowing to sacrifice speed to chain combos, not doing the same combo again, even if it takes longer for the same benefits and not jumping so often while grinding." :)
What defines 100% is always a matter of debate. Not everything that's listed somewhere in some statistic has to count (just like a 100% GBA castlevania run wouldn't pick up all items or level to 99). There is an unassisted THPS 2 speedrun that gets all goals and all the pickup money, but not the gaps, so following that example is a non-arbitrary option. THPS 2 even had the "100% goals and cash" message to support the definition, no idea about THPS 3 though. I'd propose these three goals, in order of importance: * completes all goals * does not end competition runs early (but skips the third) * Aims for fastest time Those goals are simple, clearly defined and much less arbitrary than your example. A run following that goals will show pure speed on the regular levels and huge combos on the competitions. That way the run won't be as short as this and it'll show more variety.
Everything between time attack and 100% tends to be arbitrary and a bad basis for obsoletion.
An obsoletion would have to improve the regular level times and the competition scores, no problem there. If a future run decides to end competitions early, it's still possible to compare the regular level times. (I haven't played THPS3 in a while, have I missed something? Additional pickups, skater-specific goals, ...?)

conclusion: if I fix the above, and stuck a subtitle in there when mukki first gains control of link for 2 seconds or whatever, would that be publishable?
The linear and boring part at the beginning is probably fast-forwarded by a significant part of the audience. IMHO the subtitle should appear when he first gains control inside clock town (9:20) and stay until the end of the first screen transition (9:26). Keeping the subtitle during the non-distracting black screen is always good :)
