What I dont like about rockband is that each instrument is individually easier and more bland then the guitar on guitar hero. For guitar hero they focused on songs that have a nice guitar part, but in rockband, things are more of a constant shade of mediocrity for everyone involved.

100% markup seems like a massive blunder, but generally, its not hard to see where they are coming from. Markets have different character, as whats popular in USA might not be in japan or whatever, so selling something that has been successful here might not be elsewhere. Its a risk to the to market products in an untested setting, and in business, risk is costly. I guess what I'm getting at is that it sucks, but its no coincidence that EU and Australia launch dates run insanely behind, and might not even happen at all. Business people hate the prospect of risk. What I don't understand is the need to create region lockouts for DVDs and games.

and evaluation copies only come out a little before the retail copies do. The problem stems from the need to create the review of a game but only having a week or so to do it.

The problem is that most of the time, they don't even want the games to be hard. There is a serious issue with the way games are reviewed these days, in that a genuinely difficult game is not likely to be beaten in any short amount of time by anyone, let alone a reviewer who is pressed for time. This means that if a reviewer is to ever see the content before commenting on it, he would either have to switch to an easy mode, or review based on only the start of a game. Neither of these cases does the game justice. As a result, if a company wants a game to be reviewed based on all content of the game, they need to make it easy enough to be reasonably beaten over the course of a few days, and gives the designers reason to make a game play well in a fast, easy play through, rather then a difficult, week long trek.

and I thought I was the only one tired and bored of the newer metroid and zelda titles. the first step of recovery is admitting that you have a problem. And I guess the first step toward getting nintendo to admit it will be to point it out to them.

The banana guy is setting up for one hell of a money shot. Am I the only one with a dirty enough mind to put that spin on it? When I first saw that video, I thought it was a joke intended to be taken that way. I guess I could be wrong.

the [!] usually indicates a verified good dump of the rom. This is generally the best version to select.

It can take time for the judges and publishers to do their thing. We have to cope with limited time/computing resources from the people involved with publishing movies, so being patient is the only solution.

not a bad idea. it has enough attention to detail that it would outclass several published runs, so I really dont see why not.

I dont know the game all that well, so forgive the ignorance-- but cant you fight lavos at most times throughout the game? it seems like this glitch would reduce the game to a time trial of retrieving the needed items, then a sudden victory. You probably realized this already, but what is at the heart of this is that it not only cuts out the leveling time required, but it also cuts out some amount of the storyline.

Going to school majoring in applied math and computational physics. Hope to graduate soon, and see if I can get a job working in cryptography. For money, I have a job doing phone tech support for my university.

Using left+right will be slower then the method used in the glitched run, but I do wonder if there isnt some way of getting further then half way.

you can tell because he is a right, master hand is a left! one thing I like better is that the character balance is way, way better then before. not to say there arnt still good/bad characters, but the vast majority are in the middle, playable but not too good range. Also, wii online is laggy enough I dont think I am going to play it again. Probably the fault of my shitty connection, but what the hey.

hate to be the math nerd, but 0/0 is not infinite, undefined has no meaning. its closer to meaning all values simultaneously rather then one single infinite value. besides, 6*0=0 6=0/0 does not make 6 infinite. Not that its the only thing wrong with that logic.

I really dont get why we dont just ban him and get it over with. As funny as his profoundly stupid posts are, he is behaving badly enough to give the community at large a bad name.

No more entertaining then the one then came before it. As a run whose only real purpose is entertainment, voting no.

AVGN and yahtzee are the only ones I find to be worth watching. I swear I must be missing the point somehow with those others, I just didn't find them to be funny.
