I dont suppose a properly timed bomb blast could alter your momentum enough to make a difference?

Still one of the most mind blowing runs on the site. I love the dark link fight by the way. Also-- If the warping is so poorly understood, how was the current route decided on? was it strictly trial and error, or was enough of a pattern known to decide on a reasonably coherent path?

This is the same split/argument that has been hashed over here time and again: is the goal to be a substitute for the guiness book, and be an authority on what the fastest times possible are? or is it an actual source of entertainment? I like to think that we have put that one to bed in this community, but in others it seems they have moved to the darkside.

I am really perplexed, I have the right rom (exact checksum match) and the same version of the emulator. It works for every other NES run available, what is different about this one? also strange, it seems to desync in 8-2, presumably about where he strayed from the last run. anyone got advice?

really nice, obvious yes vote. Funny that the lobby glitch has totally given way to the stairs method popularized in the basement.

it really would not work because of the design of modern batteries. What makes me laugh is that people actually seem to believe that shit. I saw one once about using foil, a paper plate and a penny to make a high def stereo speaker

On a side note, the fact they finally allowed us to customize the controls is a huge plus in my book. Turning off "Up to jump" has been a fantasy of mine for years.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8mHKHKR8x6A old, I know, but with snake in brawl, it felt appropriate.

And Snake is a fun and playable character even if Sonic's really not.
Funny you should say that, I found the opposite to be true. I guess I don't really know how to play snake, his moves are the right combination of gimmicky and slow that all I ever seem to get is smacked in the face. Sonic on the other hand is fast and responsive. Granted his B moves are mostly trash, but his normal a attacks and throw are good enough to make him usable. Wat is really strange to me is that bowser seems almost playable as well. Slow as he ever was, but it seems he hits harder, and is harder to kill then before! and whats more, he gets style point for sure. Got to love the white shell.

That's Mr. Resetti. His whole purpose is to piss you off. The fact that you are mad about him doing his job bothers me greatly. Also, the fact that you didn't take the time to even read what he said means that you're not focusing on the smaller points of the game.
Are you really supposed to read what he is saying, when you can hardly see your own character, and 2 level 9 computers are busy jumping up your ass, superman style? I like this game, don't get me wrong, but I cant stand items or maps that mess up your ability to actually play the game. Not being able to see, or suddenly reversing the controls does nothing constructive to the game play. I have an idea, how about an assist trophy that turns the display off completely for 30 seconds! That way, you get to know what its like to play brawl if you don't own a TV. fun fun fun. I like items, and I like variety in the game play, but introducing things that accomplish nothing but prevent you from playing the game is asinine.

you do realize that voting on a run that has been published for a year and a half doesn't really do anything right? it would make more sense to rate it...

Complaints: after playing the game more, I have mostly everything unlockable unlocked (mostly) and I can no longer stand to play with assist trophies turned on. Why? there are 2 in particular that really burn my ass: Nintendogs, and this other one that looks like Mr. Potato head. They both block a large portion of the screen for a fair amount of time, and all it seems to do is piss me off. There are a few maps I really cant stand either. I like the ones that move around a bit, it makes the game more varied. But there are a few maps that have really, busy backgrounds that tend to distract from actually playing the game. New pork city mostly, but a few others are guilty of this. And also on the controller: just use the gamecube ones. I tried the wiimote+chuck, but in the end that game is just at home on a more conventional controller.

7% sounds intriguing, but if the only difference is icebeam for speed, it would be too close to the pure speed run. That said, I would look foreward to watching either.

Ironically, I got half way through the second level of this game, thinking a tas would be amusing. But I gave up deciding that making the run would ruin my sanity. And the singers were a mystery to me. Looking foreward to watching this....
