If a game is so badly broken that the fastest run hardly even plays it, all that means is that a 100% run or something similar may also be accepted, it doesnt mean that the fast version wont be.

You could almost say diablo 1. A lot of it was ambient, but the tristram theme was just right for what that game was.

Ocarina of Time. No biased shit here, this is handsdown the best that has been created.
Its really up there for me. Its not even that it is the best music, so much as how well it compliments the atmosphere in that game. Everything jsut fits so well.

I am aware that there is a topic of best singles from games, but I was wondering what game everyone though had the best overall sound track. This should count all of the music in the game, not just which game contains your favorite individual track. To get the ball rolling, I nominate Chrono trigger, so much of it fits the game too well to go unrecognised.

exactly. You put it a little more clearly then I did. What is annoying is when a boring game has a faster, but still boring movie, and it gets publication because its "superior to an already published movie"

I think it might be worth adressing some of the worse runs that are still in the system. Rather then "faster then an existing movie" being a guarenteed publication, it might be time to revise the process. Being faster then an existing movie should remove the obsolete movie straight away, then the new movie should be voted on for its own merits, not just rubber stamped into publication.

Character selection is deffinatly worth looking into, namely, using drumbstick or krunch. Still though, the game had a good pace to it, dispite the repitition.

Not a bad idea, but a few things-- Even if you cant win on turn one, you may be able to eliminate one of them, meaning that your opponents get only 3 armys total, rather then each getting 3, for a total of 6. Also, it may take several tries to manipulate the AI into placeing its 3 armies, but choosing to attack minimally, or not at all.

Either way, its entertaining enough to be worth a 5 minute movie. Might not be the hottest shit on the block, but should turn out to be a solid submission.

Unless the glitching is so severe that there are only a few battles, there is just no way. The way combat is structured in these games is just miserable for a tas. Painfully slow paced, and just plain takes forever, even if you win in just a few turns. Level 100 pokemon will let you win in only 1 turn (one should hope) but battles will still totally detract from how much fun it is to watch. As with most RPGs, it would seem that the only people who like the runs, even a little bit, are the people who are in love with the game more then they are the TAS. You would have to love that stupid game to want to sit through another hour of that mindless shit.
