I was playing this game on the PocetNES emulator so this might just be a emulator specific bug but if not it could shave even more time. I ran down into the subway then ran backwards (still on the screen with the stairs) and I fell through the stairs. If this could be done again you could try this instead of making the 1st hole.

Wolverine appears, makes a few swipes and moves forward, but then he stops moving altogether after 5 seconds.

Randil, Thanks for the lookup! I found a 2nd Quest video that didn't have the sequence as well. However, I'm looking for a video of the 1st Quest. I really just want to show my dad the video; we used to spend hours together playing Zelda and I wanted to show him how it could be done in just over half an hour. If I can't find a hard copy of the video, then I guess I'll just browse to Google Videos and watch Michael Fried's old run. It's not all that great of quality, but it works.

I got to thinking, A great way to promote this site would be to put up some of the speed runs on a video website, like youtube.com So I mad a group there for just that purpose. http://www.youtube.com/group/TAGCM Is this a good Idea? or not? [Edit by Bisqwit: Merged into existing Youtube thread.]

Hey everyone, I apologize if an answer to my question already exists here at the forums. I searched for the forums for about 45 minutes and decided that if the answer were there, it would take me much longer to find it than if I just asked again. So here we go. I'm looking for an older speedrun of The Legend of Zelda for NES. I saw the one that Michael Fried did on Google Video and was quite impressed by it; I liked that it didn't use the Up+A restart sequence that pretty much all of the other speedruns I've seen of the game use. Does anyone know where I can get either an .AVI or the keypress recording of an older speedrun? Basically I want one that doesn't use the Up+A restart sequence. If anyone knows of a "human" run that doesn't use the restart sequence let me know, otherwise a TAS would be exactly what I'm looking for. Thanks!

I've tried everything to get this clip to work, can someone help me? I've tried both gens 9f and 9c(test version), player1 set to 3button, player2 set to 6button, sound on and off, DAC off, sprite limit on and off, resetting, argh. What am I doing wrong?

Can a couple of people please seed this, or send it to me? I don't know why, but I really love this game. I think it's because I have always been a huge fan of the Mega Man 1-6 series, and I discovered this game a couple of years ago, so it must be the novelty. But anyway seeders plz :P

And here I thought it was my controller being a piece of crap. It took me almost 20 minutes to configure the damned thing properly, because I had to constantly correct things. Half the time the button I wanted to map wouldn't even be changed, while another or two functions would be changed. That definitely needs to be fixed, and since I've noticed a few other topics regarding it I won't make another, but it'd also be extremely helpful to be able to actually use the hotkeys mapped to the controller. As of now the emulator accepts the change, but the buttons still do nothing. I mainly want to use the L2 and R2 buttons for savestates.

i was comparing the runs 100% v1-JXQ and v4-Terimakasih to see what differents they had, it occured that JXQ versioen constantly gained time on the and the Terimakasih version without any real improvments i could see. i continued to compare a little more and after a while i got the feeling that JXQ was faster no mather what section it was, even on stages they couldn't affect, like traveling downward and upward the "elevator", if feels like it have less frames to make a visual impression of a faster run even though its not since its speedup. i can be wrong but its the impression i got ^^ i compared situations where they only ran and it was faster there too.

Sorry if this isn't the right section for this topic...I'm new to the forum. I saw the MMX 1&2 simultaneously video on Google Video, and I have downloaded the official video from the newvideos site but can't figure out how to play it. I have Windows XP and have tried downloading DivX and Quicktime, but neither worked. What do I need to watch that video?

Even if you can't change the first fight, isn't there a big blue chuchu later on?

This MAY or MAY NOT be a cheat. that depends if using a Turbo button to jump is evil. If it isnt...then this is a grand ol' shortcut. Y'see if you turbo jump, objects above mario become easy for him to jump trhough. so when you start a new game, simply go all the way to the pipes. go inbetween the 2nd and 3rd pipes (NOT ENOUGH TO GET HIT BY THE PLANT), and hit it. if done right, you will hit the [?] block and get a mushroom. go forward, and up to the pipe. wait for the plant to go down, then go in. now you should be in an underwater area. moving forward, you should see 3 goombahs, which you couldnt kill since you're underwater. without fire, you're helpless. But you can take a hit and run past them. continue on, grab the axe, and then smile as you realize you're now in level 2-1! this is a great way to do a speedrun. Moreso, if the jump still isnt cheap, continue on untill you reach the plant at the end of this area. jump through the blocks and go down the pipe. now do that jump through the two invisible blocks above you. ironic how even Air has a hidden route. hope this helps you Air-maniacs.

I'd have to say no, I see no reason why this run couldn't have been done in normal mode in the first place. The only thing hard seems to add here is more time spent while killing enemies. There is lots of cool stuff in this movie but at some places it just seems lazy, I understand that's mostly for randomization but it still looks bad. Then again I'm just an ebil lurker atm so I guess my comments doens't carry that much weight yet :)

There is a trick to save some more time on the first boss. When you suck his feet out, he'll wobble and fall. If you stay on the same side, it takes 4 wobbles (away, towards, away, towards and fall). If you walk to the other side, he'll only wobble 3 times before falling (away, towards, away and fall).

I got to the last boss a few times when I was a little kid. I'd usually die during the damn stairs, but I got through a few times. I don't remember if I beat the last bosses. The final boss battle is really fun and well thought out by the developpers. I won't spoil it for you though.

No, I'm french!!! And I realize how easier it is to read english than to write it :-(!!! For Batman, I'll try...I just have to understand how a movie can be made ;-)!!! But that doesn't sound really hard!!!
