If I understand this correctly... they mean that if you have beaten Firebug before, and then died, you will not have to fight him again when you reach Joker. I doubt that this could be used in a speedrun.
I used to use a trick 15 years ago (it's a LONG time since I played this game!!!!) : when arriving just before the firebug entrance, I jumped and enter the room at the highest point of my jump and I was directly fighting Joker...I really don't remember if I fighted firebug before but I'll give it a try... P.S. : sorry for my (bad) english:-(!!!

How about the original NES Ghostbusters? I used to have that game when I was a kid, I remember it being tough, but not too tough. It has alot of interesting areas each with a different game type, and I'm sure it would be fun to watch.

I, for one, rather enjoyed the brief 'subtitling' explaining the magnet beam graphics. As it is obvious that the movies are becoming increasingly impossible to follow without behind the scenes explanations, it might help if more subtitling like that was introduced, to explain the glitchier segments of the movie, pointing out the exact locations for some of the more obscure, or hidden tricks. Also, it might help liven up runs with long boring interludes (Such as RPG runs with cut-scenes we've all already seen) by allowing the TAS-ers a chance to stretch their writing ability. Would it be terribly difficult to set up 'revisions' of movies to have the previous run playing beneath/next to the new run, so that viewers could see how the new and old movies side by side without the difficulty of syching different media players? I think the talk of this movie exemplifying a new standard of TAS-ing is quite true. I think we're moving beyond people playing games, and into the realm of scientific process being applied to a subject that can appeal to an audience that normally might not find science as interesting. Is there some reason you didn't use the infamous super jump/undead mode glitch (besides it being overly abusive)? Otherwise a great run

Kaz What makes it even funnier is that I'm neither Mexican nor white. And the other "pete"s just got lost somewhere.

I'm very disappointed that the Mexican was leading in the score for the whole game, but then the white cowboy takes the cake after beating the last boss. But nice shooting and use of dynamite! I think this version is much better than the SNES/Arcade, even though it is shorter. Otherwise, the run gets a little longer and more monotonous. Oh, and remember, when you want to avoid a stampede of bulls, sliding is the key! Yes!

hey guys, i figured out how to get to the paralell world in this game. you download it from that site using the username and password you get from finding the warp zone in level 1-1. If you just "press b to go to air" it takes you back to the start, with no difference. Although with no guide to go by, i'm stuck at the end of level 1-2. Arrrgh! Only one level left to beat after this! EDIT: YES!!!! I beat it! If anybody wants me to show the winning screen after you beat air part 2 on here, let me know (don't want to ruin the ending unless people want it to be ruined)

i'm making a Space Mega Force speed run and i had a question when you start out you have a multi shot and well when i take down the first few enemies the spread misses but one of the shots always hits so i always hit on the first fire but the point here is would i be penalized for those missed spread shots? here are some screen shots of what i'm talking about http://rapidshare.de/files/16442404/Space_Megaforce__U_____002.png.html http://rapidshare.de/files/16443661/Space_Megaforce__U_____005.png.html

Well, I saw this video a long time ago, and I was blown away, and recently I happened to find a file of it, and after about 2 days of playing it, I have beaten it. I didn't slow down the game at all, but I did use Nesten's turbo button feature. I wish I would've remembered that you can save where you are anywhere with emulators, because it definitely would not have taken me nearly as long. Now, whether there is some new ending after playing it once through, I have no idea, but here is a screenshot. I'm sure bragging is probably not appreciated, but I had to tell somebody. You understand, right?

After reading through this thread I saw that someone suggested Puggsy. Although it's a long game (trust me, I spent a good portion of my childhood with it) it would be very interesting to see a speedrun of it.

This is really wierd. I don't know if it's the snes9x program that isn't working correctly or it's the rom. The rom, to me, works perfectly fine but when i downloaded the movie and started playing it, it was fine until Link got out of the house. He started hugging the bushes, picked it up and went back into the house. I know the emulator only mimics button actions but when i read the description of the movie it said something about going faster by using up + down method. I don't see link going faster at all. Can anyone help me? Am i missing something? The version of the snes9x is 1.43.

well, i downloaded the avi file. Now im getting mad. I don't have the codec for playing this file for some reason so i downloaded the newest version. I thought it might work so when i installed it and played the .avi file, it is still missing the codec. I set the options so that it will download automatically but it still won't download the codec. Any anyone give me a site or know what codec to download?

Ok, i do not understand how to play Dehacked's movie. I saw this movie on the list and say it was a recommended one and also that this player was playing 2 games at once. I was amazed so i decided to try it out. Now i'm having trouble what to do. I downloaded the snes 9x, the movie smv file and megaman x the game. Now what else do i do? Do i need to download some other file?

the ones at the top of the page should link to the main page. it's a simple change that would make the website more usable.
