I've seen the run. It was well played, except the parts where the player's computer lagged. It could have been faster if he can avoid getting pinned down.

All, I can't believe this but I just learned that Martin committed suicide... he was a key partner in this project and also a friend. I am absolutely shocked and am also mad, at him and at myself for not trying to be more helpful to him. if you would like to voice your reactions and see those of others, the topic is here: http://www.mariokart64.com/cgi-bin/yabb2/YaBB.pl?num=1131901120 Maybe someday I will begin a TAS of mk64 in his honor -- it's something that I know was important to him.
I'm sorry you had to experience such a tragic loss. I've read part of the thread you've linked and it seems like he will be missed greatly. I offer my deepest condolences and hope you can recover.

Edit- Well that seemed to work. I deleted and reinstalled Bittorrent. Whee. Thanks for the help though anyways.

Hiya, I'm a newbie, which is obvious. Been to the site a lot though. Anyways, I've been trying to download the movies to watch but I keep getting this error.. It's been happening with pretty much any movie I try. How can I fix it? Am I missing something? I used to be able to DL movies a few weeks ago... Any help would be appreciated, thanks!

Bravo! I was a big DW fan back in the day. I thought the replay was awesome and would love to see it published, with a star even. I just wanted to say that because I can't vote. ;-)

I just made my own board and I don't have many members. I have 5 members including me and my bro. We both made the board. Come and discuss rom hacking, movies, games, music, art, crazy stuff and other forums. I need more members so come join. We have a liberty forum, here you have more freedom to post. Post anything that doesn't fit in any other forum. Post anything you want except things that do fit in other forums. Just don't post anything SERIOUSLY offensive. You won't get banned here but you will be warned if you post really offensive things. The reason why I made this forum and the reason why I'm talking about it more than any other forum is because I know some of you like to post stupid, pointless things so do it here! There are staff positions open here so if you wanna be a mod, then come join now before it's too late. LINK IS ON MY SIGNATURE I hope advertising is allowed. I'm new so I don't know.

This video was absolutely jaw dropping. I had to find the ROM so I could check it to make sure what I was seeing was real. I remember spending hours upon hours for several days to beat this game. Running into and only killing metal slimes to level up, finding goldmen to get gold, dying excatly when needed, etc. Anyway, the point is, how come this video does not have a star? I bet many people are familiar with this game, and it clearly shows what a tool-assisted speed run can make possible.

What Tombad is thinking of is 'Out of This World'. It isn't affiliated with Flashback at all.
It is. Flashback is the inofficial sequel of Another World/Out of this World.

Gods is not a classic game, but I've seen worse.
I consider it one of the best games. The AI of the enemies is great, the flying ones try to confuse you andavoid your shots and the thieves are clever as well. There are damn lots of secrets in this game which I haven't found out even 10 years later. Also, it was ported to most 16-bit systems.

The Amiga version is even "better" ( http://hol.abime.net/100 ). While everyone was used to play games with a joystick, this game had to played with the keyboard and mouse, like today's WASD-FPS.

Altered Beast is a game that looks like it could have been found in an arcade playing machine.
This game was indeed first released as an arcade game, later on ported to the Genesis/Mega Drive.

This hack is simply Mario in his own private Hell. The game forces you to take damage in order to progress, and does so in new and interesting ways. You can't ignore coins, because you need one extra life to spend in order to actually win. And when you do win, it's worse than the Princess being in another castle. It's almost like performance art. Level 3-2 is possibly the oddest thing I've ever seen done in a video game. It's certainly not a terrible hack: the Satanic Freak Bros. and its ilk from i-mockery.com are orders of magnitude worse. I'd "yes" this, but it appears I can't vote.

Wow, takes 0 damage. Very impressive. I spotted one thing that could have saved you some time. When you battle Rival in Saffron City, you walk directly left from the portal. When you win, he walks all the way around you when leaving. But, if you take 1 step up then walk all the way left, the rival will be lined up with the portal when he battles you. You can save the time it takes for him to walk 4 tiles. Another thing was timing for critical hits. I thought there were some fights where the enemy took 2 hits to faint regardless of either being a critical. Sometimes you timed the first to be a critical when it didn't really matter, so you could have saved some time for the "A critical hit!" message to pop up. But, these will probably save a minute at the most, so I'm really just nitpicking...

This is timeattack is two minutes faster and very entertaining. Two minutes faster i think is would be a yes! If this would be rejected the whole competion thing will be totaly wrong... it would only be a matter of taste. I know entertainment is important but time is better!

OK, I got the gens movie player. Now when I go and try to watch them, all I get is a blank black screen. Reason why the video won't play. It's the Streets of Rage 3 single player vid.
