I've been playing Megaman2 for about a year or more and I've got some pretty good times. Up until now I've only use rough times thou and I was woundering what the method you guys use to measure the times?
I was woundering if there was some kind of hack for MM2 so it would display the time at the end of each level instead of the stuff you get.

If there is uptight people like that on freenode, forget it , I'm not going back there. Worthless server in my opinion, no irc ops around no irc ops in #help channel. Probably too lazy to help anyone, server is cheap as heck.
to save you the trouble, the ethics was along the lines of obtaining the files off a site (long since dead i believe, i dont know) and then using an emulator to play it (either via ISO image or by using Nero or something else to burn the files to CD) which was deemed wrong and unethical by some and not by others for various reasons. yada, yada, yada... 100+ worthless posts and a massively redundant flamewar later, people were no further along than when they started.

Anyway, that's exactly how I got my copy of the game. I downloaded everything off of a website (still active, last I checked) and burned an ISO onto a CD-R. I don't feel guilty about it since the game is OOP and the system is defunct to boot.
For legal, not ethical reasons I will not publicly disclose the URL of that site, but trust me, if you look for it, you'll find it. They also provide detailed instructions on how to create and burn the ISO file onto disc.

If doing a soft reset were to help speed things along, would an author be allowed to do so in a movie?
For example, let's say I wanted to do Bad Dudes (remember, this is a "what if"). The company logo takes about three seconds to get past if I let it run. However, if I reset the game, I can skip straight to the title. FCMs record resets. Would a movie that did this be accepted?
If you ask me, I don't think it should be an issue.
Yes it would be allowed, You start the game and whatever it takes to beat it faster which includes reseting,glitching,taking an advantage of a bug is ok to do.
Whats not ok to do would be using a cheat or something.
Interestingly enough, the Game Genie ROM seems to have been authorized for distribution by the original maker nowadays
It is indeed interesting, considering that Galoob originally refused emulator authors' requests for information regarding the Game Genie codes.
I have an actual Galoob Game Genie for Snes and let me tell you its a piece of junk sometimes the codes dont work that you put in and it changes the value. Its better using an emulator.
I meant that the music that was supposed to play on level 1 plays on a different level, and the music that was supposed to play on another level plays on level 1. i dont know what levels have thw wrong music, but it sure isnt few of them.
The game is excellent, i'd say its the best straightforward castlevania ever.
