interesting and well done video walker boh...one thing you might find of some interest to you...there used to be a site with videogame glitches and such...the rygar flying glitch used to be within a game genie code...i assume almost any game genie code that involves going through walls, flying, etc might be reproduced somehow in normal gameplay with some patience...like many of the megaman wall walk ones i originally saw using a game genie countless years ago...but strider has a similar glitch through wall glitch like both rygar and megaman 1 and 2 do...so, it definitely is a recurring thing...very kewl how it appeared as if you were suspended in air hitting the robots back and forth...almost like a matrix movie scene..lol..bullet time effect move over...

Locke, if u haven't got it running yet. Do this: *Uninstall protowall, if u haven't already. *Install it again. *Copy the xp_driver folder to your desktop or whereever and rename it: xpdriver. *Uninstall protowall again. *Install it again BUT this time choose to install without xp driver. *Copy the xpdriver-folder u copied earlier to the protowall folder. *Now u should be able to install the drivers as intended. (Control panel/network conns/rightclick connection, choose props... etc.) This is what had I to do to get it running. =)

I've been checking out suprnova as long as it has existed...the only time attack that has ever appeared there for Strider has been the Genesis version, which is, unfortunately warpless...Most people I've talked to said that they didn't care to do Strider...which surprises me, It really is a great game...Even if you were to go directly to the last stage, from stage 1 or 2, it would be pretty difficult to navigate through it without all the powerups you obtain up to that point, like attack boots, etc...

I think these RIAA and MPAA stories are very amusing. Please post more if you got 'em! =)))

Thanks for the replies, everybody. I feel somewhat satisfied in knowing that people are blocking the MPAA's IPs from their torrents. I did immediately contact my ISP regarding the matter, but they have yet to reply. It seems as though they aren't going to do anything about it and just wanted to let me know that they received a complaint. I don't live in the USA, but I've heard that the MPAA is currently hunting down Australian internet users. One of my internet friends just notified me of an article posted on www.hardocp.com that I thought that you might find amusing: http://news.zdnet.co.uk/business/0,39020645,39167160,00.htm
MPAA Linux Blunder: Apparently the MPAA isnt up to date on Linux lingo. The MPAA threatened action over two software titles, Twisted and Grind, thinking they were movie titles. Oops. What seems to be an embarrassing blunder by the Motion Picture Association of America (MPAA) in its hunt for online pirates has prompted Linux Australia to contact its legal representatives and warn of a possible breach of Australian law.
I might consider legal action depending on how that turns out :D

A few other things I noticed in the gameplay...When going uphill, it's faster to backtrack slightly a few feet, then jump towards uphill for a much faster journey upwards... Many locations require you to traverse several unnecessary platforms, most of which can be avoided entirely by utilizing the triple jump maneuver in the most unlikely of places... several minutes can be saved by dying on purpose once an objective for any given stage is complete... And, of course, Slide jumping is great tactically in many areas...Hopefully, another Strider fan will have further input on this game that may shed light on a few things I am unaware of related to the game...Also wondering if anyone has actually attempted a time attack on this game in the past...If so, to what end result...

I am in the process of finally attempting a time attack on Strider for NES...I am curious about any glitches that I may not know of...The way the game was programmed allows many crazy glitches to go on...A few I've found thus far... 1.Go into a slide near the end of a ledge, time your jump right...before going back into the normal stance midair...and, you will magically fly through the top of the screen, THEN come up through the bottom, repeat a few times...This lends to some great "warp" scenarios once I play around a bit more with the glitch... 2.Bounce off of enemy bullets to launch yourself to a ledge you wouldn't normally be able to reach by a standard jump... 3.Walk Through Spikes, self explanatory... 4.Bounce Off Of Spikes...With this one, you can hit spikes a certain way to propel yourself 10 feet above to the ledge closest to the spikes... ...Are there any other notable glitches (or general tactics, tips, etc) any of you nes Aficionados know of...Thanks in advance for any replies...This is a great, and very fun game...and, I am sure will be enjoyed by those watching it once all the glitches come into " perfect playing form"...:)

had a lot of fun watching this movie...I think an NES Strider run would be right up your alley...love the way you utilized all of the glitches in Wai Wai...There are several in Strider as well, like being able to bounce off of spikes to ledges several feet above...and, walking right through spikes without being hurt at all...Despite having to do some levels over again...I really think it would be a fun to watch movie...I started doing one, myself, but stopped at level 2,,,simply because I just do not have enough time or patience to do these videos...But, I definitely have time to watch and truly appreciate them...:) Wai Wai World video will remain an important part of my videogame time attack collection...well done, indeed...:)

Hello. I wasn't sure if I should post this in General or Off-Topic, but I thought it was kind of important for people to see it so I decided to post it here. My ISP received this e-mail from the Motion Picture Assocation after I used Bit Torrent to download your Super Metroid speed run (which I really enjoyed):

Hello ! I downloaded the Goof Troop SMV and chose "open with" and picked the snes9x.exe (it was unpacked into a folder, of course). Snes9x started, loaded (some weird text came very fast for 5 seconds) and then just the colour of the Background changed, just black at the end and no Movie ... Also klicked on File/Movie Play ... Nothing ... My PC: Pentium 4 HT 3 GHZ, 512 MB Ram, XP Home, Service Pack 1. What am i doing wrong ? GreeTz Selecta

So is this run still on? I was all looking forward to seeing a swordless Zelda run that didn't end in death, and then all discussion on it just sort of fizzled.

Man, that clip was hilarious! =D Hope his alright though, poor guy. I usually dont laugh at people getting hurt but, man that was funny. Maybe it was a KungFu technique, kinda like "the drunken monk" only this one is called "the botched back-flip". Or maybe "the injured monk". - Face-to-foot-style! How do you like it?

Yep, Twisted Metal 2 was the best. I played all of them except for 4. I agree with your post entirely. I never got tired of ramming in Twisted Metal 2. I didn't use Hammerhead though. Half of ramming was that you actually rammed them, not got on top of them. That's why I liked Axel.

I'm not sure if you are still accepting contributions, but I have some you might like. Name: Chuck, 16 years old, Ohio, USA. I being one of the newer workers to this art, I must say that it is not easy. Not only can it be tedious at times, but even if you finish what you are doing, someone might stomp your record, making you have to either beat them again (from scratch perhaps), or do another game. An example of my experience with this is best known by one timeattack run I did on Super C, that beat the original current time by about 14 seconds (a significant improvement), but not very long afterwords, the guy I originally beat took out my record by several more seconds. Normally I would've challenged the record again with another speed-run, but his final product was indeed perfect, unfortunately for me. I was working on a Contra run when I basically stopped doing this, but never had the chance to finish it. So I guess that's my current project. I have been doing this for about a month of real, notable time. And I do it because...I just find a great feeling in knowing I did the best, and that I cannot be topped. What makes that even better, is the possibility that I am wrong. It forces me to do the best, by understanding the game, and putting my knowledge to the test. I may not be the best in anything yet, but it is a goal I will work toward.

I downloaded Famtasia off this site the so I can watch some of the movies on this site. However, I have two problems. One, the graphics are messy. Here's a screenshot I just took while playing Gradius (US ver.) on it: I swear, my ROM is not corrupt. I played it on Nestopia, another NES emulator, and it works fine. In addition, it is running at a low framerate--I checked the "Speed" settings and that didn't help. I brought up Task Manager (I'm using Windows XP), it's using only 7 MB of physical memory so that can't be the problem either. This is not happening on any of my other console emulators. Please forgive me if I sound like a moron. I have very little programming knowledge.

I was thinking about doing it but it's just absurdly time consuming. There are a few levels that are very hard to do w/o dying. I don't really feel there is that much of a demand for it, but if there is a huge demand, i'll get serious about making one and submitting it to SDA.
There are also a few levels that have time-dependent endings--to get full completion, you'd have to waste time on some occasions.
