I'm sorry to go digging up old threads, but there are four other differences I noticed between the NES version and the PC version: 1) The screen scrolling because a computer screen is wider than a TV screen. This mainly just amused me. :) 2) If memory serves, the skeleton in level 3 doesn't have health points. You need to back him in to a pit, and then fight him again when you get down near the exit. 3) The mouse in level 8 doesn't show up right away, you have to wait for him for a while. 4) I swear in the video you're getting free health for just surviving. That doesn't happen in the PC version.

get the mame32n emulator here http://www.mamehot.net/emu/mame32m-0.84u3.rar i got killer instinct 2 to work with this emulator. you have to put the kinst2.chd file into a folder named 'kinst2' in your rom directory. leave the kinst2.zip in the roms directory.

Would it be fair if I use a level ** party from a new+ game?

Considering that you are not the only one who has posted on this page, I must say you're wrong.
Considering that there's one whole person who wants it, i'd say i'm not that far off target. Are there going to be standards, or are you going to nitpick? Make up your mind. EDIT by feitclub: No flaming, sorry.

The one for Shadowgate was a cute novelty, and the one for Uninvited should've never been accepted. Even without slowdown and savestates, storybook games like Deja Vu require no dexterity, so there's no limit of skill or reaction time to surpass. And without the text, the games are just a collection of crappy 8 bit pictures. Nobody fucking cares. Save yourself the troble and use the time you would've spent "time attacking" Deja Vu on picking a game that's actually worth watching a "time attack" of.

That's because the one from feitclub's link is the one that's 1,703,936 bytes. In other words, it works for you because you have the right version of the emulator and the right ROM. Before, i implied that this mixup was the runmaker's fault; It's not. Not exactly, at least. The 1,622,016 byte Snes9X and the 1,703,936 byte one both say SNES9X v1.43-dev in the About window. The misnamed US ROM makes things even more confusing.

The computer lets you land like 4 hits max and then breaks it not necessarily true... i haven't really played it since it was releases for the snes (94/95?) but i distinctly remember there being a ton of "manual" combo variations where you chained a series moves together at certain points of the combo which had to be done manually... (ie no free automatic hits) thus the a.i. doesn't think that you're really whoopin it's ass ;p

It requires both the version of SNES9x from feitclub's link, and the correct version of the ROM. The problem is that some ROM sites have mislabeled the US version (The one you don't want) as the European version (the one you do want). If it runs at 60 FPS and says "Capcom Presents" when you first turn it on, it's the US version. If it runs at 50 FPS and just says "Capcom" with the same sound you hear when you turn on SF2 or the Megaman X games, it's the European version.

Now I've seen it. Thanks to Krysimis for the solution. I was using an old version.
Care to share what version it is with the rest of us, so we can actually watch it instead of cursing that yet another "speedrunner" thinks everyone should have to play detective to watch their stupid fucking movie?

Call me old-fashioned, but I believe if someone posts a message "hey, check out this site," that poster should give the address.
*oops* I agree, my fault. ^^

In the first level, it's possible to jump straight from the big stonewheel to the next level without needing to hang + climb up which was done (atleast in some) time attack video.

Hehe, I've been thinking about Super Metroid lots lately, and all the challenges and glitches in the game. I've never tried a speed run or a 100% run in the game, but I have had lots of fun seeing how much of the game I can skip. I truly love bomb jumping in the game, hehe. Anyways, the point is, I'm wondering if anyone else here has ever tried killing Ridley 2nd out of the bosses. I killed the ghost ship boss, and then Ridley, and of course that means skipping the Varia Suit and Space Jump. It was loads of fun doing it for me, and I was surprised when I read this forum and didn't see anyone else trying what I did. One of the hardest things for me was getting the Grappling Beam without space jumping, because wall jumping just doesn't work so good when there's spikes in the walls :) and of course spikes coating the floor, and crazy flying creatures that just don't like Samus bomb jumping...

Has anyone tried two player on hard difficulty? It wouldn't be a fun one to watch so I guess that goes against this site, but I know with a friend I can beat Turtles in Time on the hardest diff in just under 18 minutes. This is on the real console.

I usually just play through a couple of levels of Mars Matrix, then restart the game and let them try. That usually shuts people up. ;)

Just wondering; for the files on that japanese site that has the speed runs for Metal Gear Solid 2, does anyone have a problem playing the files? I've updated my drivers for my players and it still automatically closes down. Is it the files themselves? Or is there something wrong on my end? Just wondering. -A newcommer.

The game doesn't see it exactly as X bars of energy per shot, it sees it as basically whatever number value per shot the makers gave it, which then relates to how many bars are shown. For example: If you've got, say, 100 bars of energy and a special weapon takes 1.5 energy, it's going to go down 1 bar on the first shot, then 2 on the next because the weapon energy bar in Mega Man has no way of visually representing what's between 99 bars and 100 even though it still keeps track.

The original NES version came with its own special analog paddle. Without it, you're stuck with relying on savestates, since it was never intended to be played with anything else. You could try following some plans to convert the paddle to something that can be used on the PC, but i can't recall what site to get them from, or even if it'd work properly.

Well, the vid creator could list the CRC, which we'd all have to go through extra steps to see, or he could just go WhateverROM (U) and save everyone the trouble of hunting down multiple ROMs from pages that are generally very unstable and/or are annoying "Sign up for a site account so we can spam you" traps. So yes, it pretty much IS the vid creator's problem. Renaming your ROMs according to GoodX standards benefits everyone, including yourself.

I don't think $999,999 is a glitch, but a cheat.
No, it actually is a glitch. Sim City doesn't take negative amounts of cash into consideration, so a negative number to it is just a really big number. Hence the maxed out cash. The method used to feed the game a negative amount of cash is a glitch as well.
