Done with the trailer for the run if anyone wants it.
You can contact me at ICQ 57363818 or AOL at CuteShinobu.
If you can wait then I'll upload it in around a week or two.
As for the progress of the actual vid, so far almost done with the first castle (100.3%) in around an hour.
I want to see a timeattack on Gun-Dec :)
The game is pretty simple i have been playing it now alot..
But i am not soo skilled yet like u others.. Or how do you make the movies?
Hello, I was just browsing the other day and I found bisqwit's site on time attacks. Man, I didn't know that time attacks was such a popular thing. I must say that every video I've watched is truly amazing. Plus, it takes me back to my youth. :)
Anyways, what stunned me the most would have to be the punchout time attacks. I thought I dominated the game until I watched a few videos, now I just hang my head in shame, lol. My question was about the delayed punch. I've tried it many times and am unable to take off as much energy as you guys. Is there some special technique to doing this? If it's a big secret, then disregard this post. Just tell me to mind my own business. :)
Anyways, great job on all videos and keep up the good work. I can't wait to show these videos to the guys at work!
take care ^(^_^)^
I've started some SOTN speed runs and decided to do 3 in 1.
1. Alucard run (no glitches)
2. Alucard 200.6% run (no glitches)
3. Richter run
Right now I'm mainly focusing on the 200.6% run since it uses a lot more planning than the other 2.
So far on the normal Alucard run I've gotten:
Richter defeats Dracula 0:00:38
Meeting with Death 0:01:58
Defeat Slogra & Gaibon 0:03:59
As for the 200.6% run I'm so far at 21.6% in 15m 13s.
As for the Richter run, I've done some test runs and got 8:32 at the final save point.
Estimation, I think a normal Alucard run can be done under 50 mins, percentage with a full castle under an hour and a Richter run at 7 mins.
I get the re-recording, and it certainly seems possible that it could be done with this. But when I watch the AVI, it differs radically from when I play the FMV. The game never gets critical hits on the metal slimes, and consequently the player is killed.
Maybe I am doing something wrong. I don't want to accuse anyone of cheating without proof, but I know there is a game genie code that allows for every hit to be critical, and it seems odd that the AVI and the FMV don't agree. Is there a reason I could not recreate what I saw in the AVI from the FMV?

I have started using Famtasia and its nothing but problems not to say that i can run movies now but i have used Rocknes X for a long time and noticed it's movies functions and have to say it would be much easier to run and record movies if used. Of course you everyone has to test it out if it really will work like fantasia movie recording does. BTW just joined hope i can contribute to this forum. :)
i have snes and super mario world in real! i'm rec into my video and transfer into with my tv tuner into my cpu and up for you?
its ok?
and sorry for my poor english i'm am french canadian (Montreal, Quebec, Canada)
I started my first time attack movie on sonic 2 instantly when I found out about gens with rerecording (and that was today since I hadn't checked this site for a long time). I have played to Chemical plant 2 and all three levels are just as fast as yours (well maybe not exactly but in time units). I'll check if I can keep up with you :)
"Exposes all flying secret houses"
I don't know if it's been brough up but on the movies page the description of Tokushin's SMB3 video says it exposes all of the houses but it doesn't. There's one for level 2-2. But now that I think about it he was playing the Japanese version and I've only played the US version, maybe that was added later,
I didn't know there were people doing time attacks of MSX games. Can you post the link to this (or any other msx time attack you know) metal gear msx time attack ? Thanks.
Holy crap! I used to play this crazy game. One of my proudest accomplishments of my young video game career was getting to level 3 (water!) and promptly dying. I could beat the tree on level 1 fairly regularly though. I'd love to see a timeattack of this game.
Astynax, Contra 3, Milon's Castle, etc...these latest vids don't play. And I don't mean they say I have the wrong codec, they literally crash WMP saying I can debug or terminate.
I have WMP 9 on XP. Oh, and the error it gives is "integer division by 0(zero)".
Anyone have some pointers on how I can fix this? I downloaded an avi fixer but when it is done fixing the same problem occurs.
at the time marker, 28:36, there is a boss battle, when the battle is finished, megaman gains a single bar of weapon energy, which leads me to believe of a save state.
and at 31:54, he is fighting frost man. in the middle of the battle, his weapon energy goes up by one again, and i can see a noticible background variation in the video.
just giving the heads up.
