I was wondering if you, Bisqwit, would be interested in hosting a speed run i'm working on for SOCOM: U.S Navy SEALs. It's for the last level on the hardest difficulty. I discovered away of beating it very fast. So I just wanted to see if you accept uploaded video from recorded gameplay on an actual platform, in this case Playstation 2, or if it has to be a ROM run on an Emulator.

Suikoden I highly recommend for any RPG player that wants an excellent story. Looks dated, and the combat system isn't necessarily the greatest, but the storyline is very gripping. I could recommend a ton of RPG's in general, but by platform -- NES - Final Fantasy 1 SNES - Final Fantasy 3 (6j), Chrono Trigger PS1 - Suikoden 1 and 2, Final Fantasy IX, Lunar: SSSC, Final Fantasy 5, Grandia, Star Ocean 2 PS2 - Suikoden 3, Disgaea (Strategy/RPG), Champions of Norrath (a lot like Diablo/Baldurs Gate) DC - Skies of Arcadia, Grandia 2 GBA - Final Fantasy Tactics Advance (Strategy/RPG)

can't wait to see superplay videos made for SNES games with the new, super-improved ZSNES. But, is there really anything happening? There hasn't been any news on the ZSNES site since Aug 11th, 2003.
Try this page instead http://emuhost.com/ipher/zsnes/ it's updated *much* more often.

hey the thing on bubble man stage where you can use the start button to get that glitch (right after the second three snails) and before the matel fish so you get transportet by the "roof" a bit further... is that possible on the maga man 2 europe consol version? cus i end up there everytime but i just get stuck and have to jump down to the left by myself.

i haven't seen this one before just encountered this while playing mega man (europe) on my console... fireman stage: wish i had a place that could host a picture cus i don't know how to explain in a good way but i'll try. one room which you enter from the top right corner from a ladder, and one block free space to the left of the ladder (you have to move to the left in the room). there is 2 "fire popups" one i places directly under the ladder the other one is placed on the block before a "hole" that you can stand in the bottom of without falling through. from the same whole it flies up a couple of fire children as soon as you enter the room... you should understand where now... if i remember it right i got hit by the second "fire popup" and got into the "whole" while i was stil beeing all whacky from the damage taken. then when i got normal again i just went through the floor. i was pressing left as well while i got normal to get all the fact i can (same kind of glitch as in bouble man stage in rockman 2 when using the pause button just before the metal fish) back to megaman 1, which placed me just after the first ladder in the room "under" the one i described recently... my english suck so sorry for the bad explenation, but wanted t share it since i've never seen it before...

Hi, my question isn't really speedrunning oriented but i don't know where else I should/could ask it. Ok here it is: Start Kid Icarus from the first Level and go into the first Door(about 2-3 Screens above You). What the hell is this empty room good for ? I remember other empty rooms in the game where u can get in but nothing happens. normaly there are traders which offer u waepons/energy/addons, but why are these rooms empty ? Did the programmer forgot to put something in it ? What do You think ? P.S. Sorry for my not so well english ;)

skipping candle and cross is right but it would be no fun to play and absolutely not entertaining to watch such a movie in my opinion. magic key was stupid thats true. i just forgot that the last castle got no doors....perhaps i make a second run but not yet it takes too much time to run through whole hyrule :-/ and i dont want to make a run without candle and cross.

I just realized something on the other post about contra....... On the run I recorded, I didnt even pick up any weapon upgrades. I think if I got the L upgrade, I could maximize the aim, possibly making the Base levels doable without killing the soldiers. Also, it would make the boss battles easier and I'd be able to destroy the spike tank things and spike walls faster. Thanks for the idea Bag of Magic Food (referring to your other post)!

i dont think so. you will run out of magic very soon. fairy spell needs lot of magic. of course you can get magic from every 6th enemy i think but killing 6 knights i.e. takes a lot of time as well. but its definitely true that my run can be improved a lot i cant say anything different i know this. by the way as you can see i used the german version not the US one. perhaps there are difference but i dunno.

with the fast levelling of the japanese version .. hwo should the nes version be shorter?? the other problem is, avoiding the enemies on the worldmap is harder than in the fds version.

Lolo speed runs I think would be fairly entertaining (at least to me) I tried doing one myself and got kind of burned out on it, but there are definitely some levels that take exact movements to get through as quickly as possible

And do you think you really need to kill the "guy on the wall" in the first level, or was that just a mistake?
well honestly, I only killed him because the angle he shoots at, along with the gun turret down below, it's almost a trap....... so one of them had to go. I might be able to do it a lot smoother with re-records but I wanna see if it's possible only recording once per stage. Now THAT would be entertaining! I also need a little help with re-records..... like keyboard/controller setup. I only really did my run recording once cause I'm not sure how to have one hand recording/loading and the other hand playing. That makes me think about that Double Dragon 2 run with two players, one human! PS I'm not trying to really go for speed cause it takes a lot longer to get through the stages without shooting. More for aesthetic purposes!

I recently heard about a challenge for Contra. The challenge was to go through the entire game not killing the regular enemies or gun turrets..... only the bosses/mini-bosses. With that in mind, I carefully reviewed the game. Contra being one of my all time favorites to play on NES, I tried it out. My findings are somewhat mixed. I recorded myself going through Stage 1 without killing any of the regular enemies and only destroyed the guy on the wall at the end, and the red circle door thing at the bottom..... I left the two machine guns there. Mind you, this is all in one try (re-record counter at 1 :D). I see much room for improvement but here's what puzzles me. The base levels (facing forward and running from room to room with those laser barriers keeping you back) are pretty much impossible to play the same way due to the number of enemies that just love to run back and forth in front of the red targets. I'm wondering if anyone else has heard of this challenge. Maybe someone and I can collaborate on a sweet video..... going over tactics, strategies and whatnot. I've got my version 1 for Stage 1 finished recorded with Famtasia. Like I said, I know I can improve but if anyone wants to see what I've done, let me know. Thanks!

Hello all!! I've been working on a speed run that I've recently submitted to Bisqwit. Anyways, I was wondering if anyone knew of some glitches in this game?? Thanks in advance! Ryan

I would say that the game has to be pretty much completely different from the original to warrant a time attack. Something like "Super Mario Adventure", which is a hack of Super Mario 3, is pretty much a completely different game from the original Mario 3.

If someone was violating copyright by redistributing my material I wouldn't probably sue him because that's a difficult thing to do but I could make a complaint to the violator's ISP if he was hosting the material on his web site, or to eBay if he was selling it there. Most ISP's and eBay especially don't like copyright violations and will remove any illegal material. The most likely way to illegally redistribute digital content is of course p2p networks, and that would be almost impossible to stop. I know, it's just a game. But is someone wants to take it seriously and prohibit redistribution and/or commercial use he has the right to do that. If I spent 10 seconds drawing a meaningless stick boy and uploaded it on the Net I would still have copyright to that piece of work, no matter how silly and stupid it was.
