Ok. I just received a brief comment from the Nintendo/Bergsala in Sweden, stating: "It's ok to use video captures of old NES games" Hope someone will let me use their movies then =) Regards jpt

I better check with Nintendo first thing in the morning. I'll post any response they might have on the subject.

Hello I was wondering, if any of you authors/submitters would allow me to use your movies in a retro section on a dvd for a danish gaming magazine? regards /jpt

i recommend using a client that allows u to choose the incoming tcp listen port and setting it to port 80 (in case ur isp has shaped/capped use of other ports, port 80 is http status) ie azureus. azureus also allows for auto-seed when the torrent is done coming in. i tend to leave it seeding for a while, but my contributions are negligible because my isp packetshapes like crazy (college campus)

I've been downloading and watching timeattacks for about a week now, and I've decided to try making my own. Whould Mc Kids have potential to be a good timeattack? Here is a review for those who don't know the game: http://www.leesux.com/mckids.html And here are all(?) maps of the game (if someone else wants to try): http://www.greggman.com/mckids/maps/Page.html

I already read in the FAQ about the codec problem, but after using all my resources, I can't find anything allowing the movies to be played in Windows Media Player. There doesn't seem to be a codec that can play it anywhere on the internet! Certainly *someone* has the codec and knows where to find it around here? I mean, Windows is the system used by the majority, so certainly at least one person has the codec? Thanks in advance for any help.

Whoops, sorry about that. Heh, that's what I get having five windows open at a time including chatting. Again, I apologize. *feels stupid* :p

Ahhh. So I missed part of it. I didn't know anything about the scripts. I thought it was just, if people had it downloaded and were still running it, then that's the only way to download. The script thing makes it much more logical, heh. I do understand about bandwidth, that's for sure, as I have my own web site that I own and operate. That's another reason I asked about the FMV files instead, because they are much smaller in comparison. Needless to say, BitTorrent is the most complex program I've come scross in a very long time, heh. Thanks for the quick reply! I appreciate a webmaster that actually responds, unlike many others. On that note, is there anything I can play FMV files on? Is it worth it, or is there a drastic quality reduction?

Okay, I'm pretty good with computer stuff even though I'm new to BitTorrent. That said, this thing is utterly frustrating me. I am trying to download the Castlevania II movie, and the download is the slowest I've ever had since getting a cable modem (currently downloading at 1 KB/seu, YUCK!) . . . This seems, to me, to be a problem with the implementation of BitTorrent. I read up on how it works, and it doesn't seem to be a very logical way to offer files, primarily because there's seemingly no real way to guarantee anybody having the download open at the exact same time you try to download. In addition, less popular games likely have no downlooad in the first place. So I have two questions: 1) Is there something I'm not understanding about how BitTorrent works? 2) Is there a way to play the FMV files so I don't have to bother with the stupid BitTorrent crap? (The only emulator I have is Nestopia as it's the best one, and it doesn't seem to play the file.) Thanks for the help . . .

Yeah i use virtual NES instead of famtasia mostly because i can't get famtasia to play at the right framerate ever and it's buggy for me i don't understand why? You can check out my speed attacks at www.speedruns.org though for now. Evilheart

I went back through total recall and fixed all the flaws i noticed. My new time is 7 minutes and 58 seconds. If anyone notices any flaws or knows any tricks to make this faster let me know and i'll add them. Please don't comment on the last to enemies before the final boss, for some reason my turbo buttons don't work in my emulator on that screen? www.geocites.com/clansithx/TotalRecallTimeAttackv2.zip Evilheart

Do u really think we are 3 weeks old rabbits ? ? ? I red the games were slowed but not cheated... i played kung fu on arcade game and on emulator and i noticed SEVERAL BS on this video . 1 since when does ennemies don't grab u THEY DO but not in this video. 2 on second floor little ennemies go through the player without even attacking that is new too. 3 u picked up bosses with AIDS and cholera that can not stand up or what ? ? ? since when bosses fall after 1 hit ? whooaaahaha very hard bosses ..... Some of those videos actually really impressed me with the players qualities but i do'nt see the point of making a CHEATED video, if u want i got a code to get the end of the game animation directly that will make u finish the game in like 2 seconds if u want to go faster......

Hi, I'm a new member here but I have been watching and enjoying your work for the past few weeks. You guys have inspired me immensely to try my luck with time attacks and such. The first videos I fell upon were michael fried's SMB and SMB2 Lost world videos while I was searching for websites on SMB glitches. I was in awe after watching those videos and immediately downloaded any other videos I could find. My first speedrun will be for Jaws for the NES, without rerecords, lost lives and as perfect as possible. I'll try putting it on one of the sites in a few days. Thank you guys. :)

can't wait to see superplay videos made for SNES games with the new, super-improved ZSNES. But, is there really anything happening? There hasn't been any news on the ZSNES site since Aug 11th, 2003.

It's your typical jump and attack game. The funny part about this game is that there are all these weird things that aren't in the movie, like what's up with the guys in the jetpacks? LOL Evilheart

Im not sure if any of you are interested in this game. I made a time attack for this using the newest version of virtual NES i beat the game in about 8 minutes and 30 seconds. Here is a link to the .VMV file, i have a video but i'll only torrent it if i get enough response. www.geocities.com/clansithx/TotalRecall_TimeAttackV2_Evilheart.zip Evilheart

It's what the description dicusses. Randonly placed characters, randomly placed Jason. This was one of the more lackluster NES games in general, to many. It was also notoriously tough back in the days. I might have defeated the game once ever. You had to rescue kids from different houses, and fight Jason as well. You find different weapons and such, and I think even Jason's vulnerability to certain weapons was random as well. I'm not too sure. You had to 'kill' him three times to beat the game. Beat him the first time and he gets stronger and moves faster. Beat him the second time and he moves really fast and is stronger than before. Also, each kid that you can play as had their own strengths/weaknesses. Some of them couldn't jump if their lives depended on it. I bought this game for 10 bucks at Odd Job when I was like 10 :P I actually liked it more than most did.
