Could be entertaining if you bring variety to it. Example: 1) Missed shot attempt 2) Blotched dunk 3) Give your opponent the ball (bad pass) 4) Steal it back 5) Hold onto the ball, get robbed 6) Reject opponent's shot Not much else you can do but mix these up or do shot-passes and figure 8s with the player dribbling. I don't see much potential in it, would still be interested in whatever can be produced.

I agree with 1), but 2) is easy with Anri Chan, I do it all the time for my own videos and how is bandwidth an issue if you upload to filefront or YT? Edit: Seems the new emulator fixed the desync, thanks a bunch!

Sorry to be a nuisance but I cannot watch Inichi's run as it desyncs for me as early as when Crono's supposed to collide with Marle. Is there somewhere that I can find the exact emulator configuration to play the movie or should I look for a new rom and hope it's compatible with the movie? I'm also curious as to why people post .smvs all the time instead of recording it to .avi and uploading it somewhere so it becomes easier to watch.

I want to see a Fire Emblem Thracia 776 TAS, I might even start working on one as soon as I finish my Fire Emblem Radiant Dawn SDA speedrun.

How come the exact button inputs for the ToT skip haven't been given? A lot of people want to try this glitch so it would be immensely helpful.

Sorry if I'm just being an annoying messenger, but someone at SDA also gave a very detailed plan involving the TOT sequence break. Someone commented on a few parts, which is bolded.
OoT MAJOR major skips segmented route seg 1 -intro seg 2 -sword seg 3 -shield -talk to mido -get 3 deku sticks -save seg 4 -head to lost woods -escape the forest -over to GV -cucco jump -save in the fortress seg 5 -gate skip -cross the wasteland -save in ST seg 6 -talk to nabooru -kill all enemies in the next room -light torch in next room -use stalfos to megaflip in gate bridge room -You almost always can pick up 20 rupees from killing that enemy with the fire. -get key Optional save here, I would say. I can't imagine you losing more than 15-20 seconds here, and you've already got Nabooru text, a megaflip off an enemy, and in the next segment a hover off of enemies up to a switch, something I think would be incredibly difficult. -get to bombchu room -activate ISG off of sun -use lizalfos to hover up to the switch -get chus -save seg 7 -requiem (any way to bybass this) -savewarp seg 8 -lost woods -goron city -blow up rocks -go to death mountain -blow up boulder in front of DC -enter and save seg 9 -DC as usual up to bombs -save seg 10 -exit -go to kakariko -gather cuccos + 20R in hole (new fast route?) -get bottle *optional save in well* -exit kakariko -superslide to gerudo -over the fence *optional save in fortress(will cost about 5-7 seconds though)* -get up to mushroom -get caught and thrown in river -Lake hylia -fishing pond for gold scale and steal rod -get ruto's letter -get bug next to pierre in c bottle (might be faster before the pond) -BA crap -re-equip sword -head out to hylule field -single bomb hover over both fences -Ok, I'm probably missing something but why can't you just climb the ladder? -superslide to castle -omg super awesome ToT SB -master sword -blarg cutscene -walk right through the door of time and leave the temple -to kakariko -get shield from graveyard -odd potion from old lady -save seg 11 -superslide to lon lon -steal epona -to the forest -single bomb hover over ropes -trade for poachers saw -megaflip back to bridge -over to lake hylia -steal rod again (sugestions for 20R?) -I bolded this earlier. -more BA crap -to gerudo -trade for broken sword -last BA thing -re-equip sword *optional save* -ocarina items warp to graveyard (remember, no ocarina) -up death mountain -get magic -save seg 12 -light arrows -ganons castle -barrier skip (I think bomb hover method is faster) -save seg 13 -up the tower -ganondorf -down the tower -ganon -Hope for sub 1 hour Bombs can be skipped but would add a lot of time. We wouldn't be able to steal epona, get the mushroom as child, hover up to the fishing pond as adult or superslide. Also, if when this is confirmed, the only items that still cannot be skipped are light medallion, light arrows and magic. We can't skip everything for an extremely low% because some items are needed to skip others, but there is a way to skip every other item one way or another. Magic might happen if we can expand BA, but light medallion and light arrows are unlikely.

I'm just trying to convey information ASAP, considering the magnitude of this trick and the cumulative time people have spent trying to land this seemingly impossible sequence break.

I don't know why there has to be so much competition as to who contributes what. The way I see it, TASing is more or less based on teamwork; everyone contributes as much as possible in terms of ideas to a thread and whatnot to ensure that the final run produced is as good as human knowledge can allow. It really doesn't matter who discovered it as long as it is implemented in the run. For this reason I also think it's unethical to hold back tricks. Had the trick been revealed earlier, perhaps people could find an unexpected application of the trick or another trick based on said trick's method of execution (sorry if that was confusing).

Here's one I just found recently http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LKYBZ0O-D-E And no, it's not Super Metroid Redesign and judging by the date it was posted, it seems pretty much no one has seen it before. What amazes me is that the video isn't just swapping palettes like other SM hacks, it's creating completely new designs such as the torizo statue facing towards the screen! Let's just say I'm ready to learn how to deal with the BS that is patches and to devote the majority of my free time to the <3 that is super metroid in all its various forms.

Welcome to the forums, Vykan12. This is as non-speculative as it gets (for Wii tool-assisted "playing"): http://tasvideos.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=5306 However, I don't know much about the Wii remote. It is technically possible for emulated pointing devices to travel arbitrarily fast, but at some point, the action must break down (either the game puts a hard cap on speed, or it glitches, or it does nothing, and so on). We can always dream on. Great video, I love the lego robotics being applied to gaming, so much w1n right there XD As for the whole controversy over the pointing device and the accelerometers, I thought the simplest way to do it would be to hack the game into having a cursor that moves anywhere you want each frame, rather than literally having frame advance using the regular controls. I suppose that would be altering the game though, so it wouldn't really count. As a slight change of topic, I'm wondering when post n64 consoles will be TASed. I'm especially dreaming about how great a Metroid Prime TAS would be, the possibilites of ridiculous scan/lock dashes, bizarre platform usage and new glitches involving speed, height attained and more sequence breaking basically open a realm of infinite possibilities. In fact, you could probably make a MP run with almost all the gameplay being out of bounds/secret worlds. Moreover, I'm kind of interested in the progression of speed running, TASing and hacking and their relationship. So far, speed running has carried all the way to this generation of gaming, though still pretty much in its infancy. TASing is about two generations behind, being in its infancy with N64 TASing. Then, hacking is a generation behind that, as there are only a handful of SNES hacks *drools at Super Metroid Redesign*. Do you think this 1-2 generation gap will stay fairly constant throughout the years or will it change with some revolution? My guess is once TASing 3D games has been mastered, next generation console TASing won't be a problem, except for the wii for obvious reasons. I also think hacking might not even make it to 3D anytime soon due to the enormous amount of difficulty required in computer programming and whatnot.

I'm sorry if this topic is mostly speculative, but I'm wondering what it might be like to TAS a wii game. I've been thinking about this for a while and this is what I think: -The whole control aspect would be too complicated, so most likely, instead of guiding the curser via a wii remote, you can do so with a co-ordinate system. Basically, each frame, you can move your cursor exactly where you want on the screen. -Another theory is perhaps it takes 1 frame per unit of distance travelled (whatever such a unit will be). -I am just crazy and this is way too hard to even do since we haven't TASed beyond the N64. Anyway, I'm just thinking of the applications of the first idea, in that you can move your cursor anywhere you want in a single frame. In particular, I could only imagine what a TAS run of Trauma Center: Second Opinion would be like. In case you're not familiar with the game, here's a youtube link. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XIBcmOVhf2M So let's focus on suturing. Normally, suturing takes around a second I'm guessing. However, once you move your cursor from point A to B, you probably only have to hold it there for 5 frames for a line to form. Thus, stitching could be done in as little as 18 frames. At this rate, you could suture about 3 wounds per second, which would just flat out be exhilarating to watch. Then there's something like removing bones. Usually, you have to remove a bone carefully like you're playing operation, but with a TAS, it can be done in a mere 2-3 frames. Just imagine seeing 5 bones lodged in someone's body one second, the next second they're all gone and you see 5 cool messages besides the tray. Last point I'll make is how fun it would be to screw around when the player is forced to wait for something but still has controls. Using the healing touch controls, you can choose to make all sorts of elaborate shapes or just cover the screen in green as fast as you can, or you could do the same with suturing, or even do perfect figure 8s with the cursor. The possibilities are endless. I'm sorry if I focused too much on Trauma Center as my wii example, as it may be hard to grasp what I'm saying without actually playing the game. Nevertheless, my point is really just speculating about how awesome wii TASing would be.
