Aha. Maybe I was confused from the picture. It's nice though.

Is it somehow possible to zip through the wall at the first ladder you are supposed to climb upwards? That would be awesome since the boss room is on the other side of the wall. It can't be abused with the ladder somehow? If maybe one were to climb off the ladder after the screen has scrolled upwards and then press up+down to zip to the right? But on the other hand I have no time attack knowledge of Mega Man 1 ;) The things I know is what I briefly have been picking up from this thread and from watching your currently published run. Or maybe to put up a beam under the platforms that holds the ladder upwards? And now I'm starting to guessing wildly so I might just be quite.

In some games the bad way can be better since you will have more speed as you ger around (or whatever) the corner. If you do it the good way (according to the picture) you might loose speed and then land (in this case) further to the left, which is not decired. I don't know how Batman works though.

Here I am. It's taken 1-2 years ago but it was the best I could find ;) Apparently I'm eating on something.. http://photobucket.com/albums/y135/WalkerBoh83/?action=view&current=000_0216.jpg

Best morning in a long time. Thank you very much for doing this! I love this game! It turned out I couldn't watch it =/ Oh well. I do know how hard the vehicle levels are and if you managed them without taking damage this should be impressive.

Hehe, crap ;). Oh well. I guess I play games different when I don't perform tool-assisted speedrunning on them.

I can't say I have this problem either. More the opposite I think. I like to get 100% (if possible) in games I play. Like in Faxanadu I would try to beat the game with every item in my inventory ;) One of my goals in gaming is to get everything in Final Fantasy 7, but I guess that will take some time.

To answer your question. Yes, I can try and see what happens. It still feels strange though. Allright, say it saves a bunch of seconds because of the swap from NTSC from PAL. Then of course it would be a bunch of seconds faster but it would still be the same (some robots will be positioned different of course). I mean, I don't expect to save 4-5 minutes as in the swap in Dragon's Lair from NTSC to JAP. I think, that what I mean is that it feels cheap to save seconds this way, even though it might be more fluent (I'm not really sure what 60 fps would do rather than 50)? First of all I need to take care of school, then I'll finish the full version and after that I might start testing it ;)

Would that be faster? But I still intend to complete the full version using PAL-settings and somehow it feels strange to have 2 movies of the same game but different versions (PAL for the warping one and NTSC for the full one). I must jump over the river the same amount of times (except the first one of course which I now can skip) in the full version.

There is the old way of getting up on the grass by scrolling the screen back n forth and pressing upwards. I was messing around with this when I somehow got to the right of the grappling hook. I managed to get out there but not "in" to the area where you are not supposed to be. So I started to try if it was possible to get there again and it worked ;) It doesn't work everywhere though and I'm afraid it doesn't work in the floating castle or Doragos castle. My tests so far has been without results.

;) It's pretty cool that one game can have so much glitches. I was never aware of one single of them though when I played this back in the days.

Since it's not really related to the submission I post it here. I will do a full run using this new trick but school is taking an awful lot of time now so it will take a week or two.

And now I don't need to learn the game! Good luck with the run.

Cats are always nice. I have no idea of what this game is like but to warp sounds a bit boring actually (because you never move your character? so it would be 100 seconds of nothing really?). Besides this I really like puzzle games and if they include cats they can't be bad ;)

Then I'd definately vote yes for this idea. Seeing glitches is always fun, even though they maybe don't save time.

Aha. I didn't quite understand everything that was said in the other thread but a few minutes sounds pretty much, so a death (or more) should be worth it.

That's awesome! The full run I mean. I have no idea how much time the new "jumping through walls"-glitch will save but I'm sure it would look awesomely cool. Personally I'd vote for no deaths but that's because I think it would look more impressive without it even though it might save time (which I don't know). I haven't watched your WIP either (sorry) so I don't know what you mean exactly. Oh well.

Exactly, now that ive seen the video lots of times, I think he cheated, its impossible to not commit any single mistake until the end specially playing like he did .... the only player who could play like that is if God would have a Mario Bros in Heaven or somethin.. :D
I'm more amazed over this actually.

I've figured (pretty much recently actually) that I think a few frames lost here or there doesn't automatically means it's a bad run. If no one can spot these "mistakes", what makes it a worse run than others? Except the fact that one can be beaten of course. Thus I too vote yes because this is a big improvement. Awesome.

Which map is that? Ok, it was a loong time ago since I played this game (and watching the full run). But the only stage I can think of is some fortress in world 7, but it could be that it was insanely hard when I played it that I needed a P-wing to finish it while it's still possible to complete it without. While I was babbling right now I realise that there might be another fortress that has a pipe in the ceiling that's not reachable without flying?

It's a nice site but it also lacks of loads of maps (ZAMN-maps for example). But yeah, some maps are helpful indeed.

What's most important? Time units or realtime? I'd vote for realtime actually but that's also depending on time units. Oh well, just my personal thought.
