My record is around 1700. And I think you've gotten the best route. Just one question, which stage is MacBeth? Is that the tank stage? What's the name of the stage where the cat lady enters? With all the poluted water and that submarine as boss.

I think I know the best route for optimizing score. Just don't remember it right now (if that makes sence ;P). If anyone is about to do this I'll just plug my N64 in and check it out.

Oh yeah, that's also one of my favourite games. However if this is done it would be a speed run, right? Atleast I don't know of any re-recording emus for N64.. Also it would be more of an aesthic movie since it's autoscrolling. Well, bosses can be beaten in different times but still. Anyways, I would love to see this if anyone out there decides to make it.

Doesn't fastest time units sort of automatic means fastest real time? Ok, it could be problems with the fireworks but in other games perhaps?

So was this any faster? Or just equal but "smoother-looking"?

Nintendo World Cup! If you are about to do a football game do that! If you want of course. But that game is the best and funniest sport game I've ever played.

The piano quests only makes your bards better. This is because from every piano they play on they learn new songs and if you play on all of them you will learn some ultimate song. However I don't think this is necessary in a time attack.

I think it's time for me to get the SNES-emu so I can watch this. If you do finish this Boco I will worship you! Good luck lady!

Offended? Not really ;) And where's that picture when you need it? I think it's Kilu's picture "Awww jeez not this shit again!".

Now that this run is official, what was the big secret? =) I couldn't spot any major differences from Mana's run except those backward jumps which looked really cool. I will vote yes to this because it's great that this old game can still surprise. Hope you'll fix the pipe issue though. Nice job!

In my experience the luck manipulation comes from where you put the piece. 1 square (the size of one square that all pieces are made off) makes the whole difference. Apparently you can pause to change it also (that other Tetris movie showed that). But I never noticed anything special with moving pieces around before they hit the "ground".

1) What is your name? Where do you live? Hans Olsson / Walker Boh. Lives in Sweden. 2) How did you first hear of/get into timeattack videos? Same for me as the others I think. I saw some Mario 3 movie. Probably Morimotos. After that I searched around and ended up here. And after 100's of questions to Bisqwit I finally learned how time attacks worked. Glad he helped me out that much ;) 3) What about timeattack videos captivates you? What makes it worth spending many many hours creating them? I like creating stuffs for folks to enjoy. I've also played games (mostly NES-games) since I was 7 years old. Which makes it 14 years now I think. So when I realized I could combine my urge for creating things AND playing the games I like most it was just natural for me to start making time attacks. 4) What is the process you use to start, plan, and complete a timeattack video? I pick games I like to play for time attacking. Unless someone has already made a movie out of them. Then I usually let it be, if I don't have a good reason for picking it anyways. For the planning bit I usually play through the game once or twice so I know what im dealing with. As for routes, items or various things that needs to be planned. After that I start record and then it's pretty much trial and error. If I found something on the way that could be useful I often redo big parts until im satisfied. 5) Which timeattack video that you've created are you most proud of? Why? In my case it's Rygar. That's because I loved that game as a kid and when I time attacked it I found out so much new things about the game. Like the "air walking-glitch". Rygar totally surprised me when I time attacked it in several aspects. 6) There seems to be some criticism/antagonism directed at the creators of timeattack videos. How do you explain this? Does this represent competing philosophies about how video games should be played? I think they got it all wrong. I'll come back to this question when I know how to express myself. 7) Do you consider yourself a film maker? Well, not really. I like to create time attacks (movies) but that's about it. But it's great when you discover something that will amuse the audience ;)

Sort of off topic but I used to like (and still do) Famtasia because it has some nice things that I can't find in FCEU. Like any speed you want (almost) and auto fire on start and select ;) Anyways, I think I'll convert to FCEU now because of the frame advance.

I haven't seen this run either but I think I can agree with both Phil and you other guys. I agree to Phil because some of us do like beat em ups, or different types of genres. And I agree to the rest of you because I don't personally like beat em ups that much. Except playing them that is. And I guess I should get that emu soon so I can have proper opionions about the runs ;)

I have done this too if my memory is correct. But would it be faster? Doesn't that mean you have to go past the hammer and thus stop the run a few frames later? I don't know this but it seems most logical to me.
