Im not 100 % sure but I think he did that because it's alot faster then walking/rolling straight forward to the entrence of the tree.

Possible. But if I take damage I will slow down for some frames and most likely be pushed backwards. This is one reason why I just can't go on a suicide streak in the Tehcnodrome because it won't save me time.

I thought this movie was really boring. Even though it surely is a hard game and all. Ok, there are worse time attacks out there (Felix maybe? ;P) but still..

I saw you didn't use death as a shortcut back to town. I'm not sure if it would save time, but there are two places it could have a use.

However, I guess money seemed to be the problem (especially for tilte :/ ), so maybe it was necessary to go the long way back for those two times.
Im not sure about this either because if I should use death as a shortcut I stand before 2 problems. First I have to visit the guru I will want to return to after death. And also, when dying the money resets to 0. Ok, this is not the whole truth. Instead the money resets to the current rank you have. But since I don't talk to the gurus and completes the game as a "Novice" (or whatever the first rank is called) I can't use this. And im not sure that I want to die. Even if it were to save some small amount of time.

Thanks SlyBeast. I apologize if I was rude or something. Anyways, v2 will come up in the next week hopefully. So if you find any more of those possible time savers (big or not) please tell me right away. And btw, that hole you asked about Omni, it takes me to a small area under my current route and from here it's possible to enter the brown area again. But it's not a short cut so I didn't take that route.

That was quite a long list. Thanks TNSe for filling in for me. I will try to answer most questions again though.

For that matter, that place where you grabbed the Wing Boots to fly that short part, that's doable without the boots as well.
If it is Im kinda ashamed. I tried this jump more then twice and when I didn't succeded after like 50 tries I redid a part to get the wing boots instead.
OmnipotentEntity wrote:
2nd dungeon, would it save time if you went for the elixer and the wing boots first? Use what's left of the 1st Wing Boots to skip the first part of the climb.
No, this would not be faster. Not only would I have to go up there again to get another elixir but I would also have to backtrack again. Seems very unlogical.
OmnipotentEntity wrote:
After the mist city at 16:00, would it be faster to stay on top of the blocks there?
I don't see that as faster. And also, I needed the money. Those dwarfs gives me kinda much money.
OmnipotentEntity wrote:
At 16:36 is there a particular reason you used Deluge?
Uhm. Yes. Else I would have stopped in mid air as TNSe explained. I think I included that in my submission text aswell...
OmnipotentEntity wrote:
At 17:08 would it be faster to skip those two enemies?
Maybe, but I still need the money at that point and if I hadn't killed those I would have been forced to kill the dwarf atleast 1 extra time.
OmnipotentEntity wrote:
At 19:36, would it be faster to hit the squid twice instead of waiting on it?
Maybe. But still have to swing my sword 3 times at him.
OmnipotentEntity wrote:
At 22:21 would it be faster to stay on top?
Why would that be faster?
OmnipotentEntity wrote:
At 22:41 would it be faster to be hit by the squid?
Of course. I just wasn't sure about my energy at that point and also I took damage while falling down to the next screen.
OmnipotentEntity wrote:
At 23:25 would it be faster to jump over the clapper?
Possible. But that guy uses magic and that's why I killed the first one earlier.
OmnipotentEntity wrote:
At 27:14 where does that hole go anyway?
Sorry man but that's a stupid question ;) Atleast in the context.
OmnipotentEntity wrote:
At 31:05 would it be faster to just hit that guy twice, or does it not push him back enough?
He would have pushed me backwards and also he takes pretty much energy so no, I doubt it would be much faster.
OmnipotentEntity wrote:
At 34:28 Why does he have two hand daggers?
Because it looks cool. Actually I have no idea. Ok. I will redo this run some day (after next wednesday) and Im glad you liked it. Thanks for some useful suggestions.

Didn't know that. After like 50 tries on that I just thought it was impossible. Thanks anyways.

Do it flawlessly. I think that would be more entertaining then "pure speed". So go break some world records!

Adventures in magic kingdom is one of the worse games I've played. I thought about time attacking it but when I played it I realized it is to boring. Im not sure about Krustys Fun House either =/ It's a hard game but I think it could be a bit boring to watch after awhile. But I would surely watch it if anyone decides to do it ;)

Also when you die, I think your next turtle starts at the last place on the overworld map that you exited from. So if you died in Level 2, you have the death animation, April talking, then walking down the dam and jumping into the water, then swimming to the last bomb.
This sounds likely. The only point I know of where dying could be useful is when I have just got the missiles. But it look less skilled to die there IMO since it's not that long to run down again. But I might be wrong and since I have to redo this again sometime I'll gladly take suggestions.

Re-recording from start is unfortunately one of the most important factors when making a time attack =/ I know this out of experience ,)

It's because you have used VirtuaNES. I believe this is stated in the rules page and also what EMU's that are allowed. In other words, use Famtasia or FCEU. Atleast im pretty sure this is the problem. you should read the "Rules page" for more info.

I'd watch anything of this game. I love it and that's it. Now I only need to find those 100 hours I need to do this...

I didn't mean the actual level, I mean the demo before it. Those turtles are s-l-o-w walking to the airship. If one or more of them are dead (Raph only has one hit left at this point), is the demo shorter? I don't know, it's just an idea.
Ahaa. Yeah that's an idea. But I believe the death animation takes some time aswell so even if I did die with one of them I think the time would be somewhat equal.

I was thinking perhaps the robots at 17:23, one hit from behind and one as you're jumping over them. Again, I don't know if it works, just throwing out ideas.
It might work. Im not sure if I got enough time to hit him twice though.

Going to the blimb takes a lot of time. Perhaps it is faster if one of the turtles are dead? Easily fixed if you don't spread the damage as much as you did.
Why would this be faster? This area only has "one" correct way. I can't see any point in dying here.

At 11:00 after fighting the subboss, you grab the ladder to the left, but you should have grabbed it to the right.
You are right. I have no idea why I missed this. Baah.
Truncated wrote:
There is a lot of slowdown in the technodrome. How about killing some more enemies?
Which enemies should I kill? Most of them takes more then 2 hits to kill.
Truncated wrote:
At 17:40 somewhere, you pause a lot for the white flying guys. How about switching to someone with more health and walk through them?
This is useless. Taking damage here almost doubles the time. Bah, got this 5-10 frames to improve then..

What with all the attention being received by FF6 lately, I was kind of thinking.. what about the best game in the series, FF5?
I totally agree! This was the second RPG I played ever and I love it. Also one of my top games. If I got time for a project this big sometime I will do it if noone makes it before me. The characters and the story is one of the greatest ever! Atleast I think it is. Also the job-system is awesome. Uhm. How low level would be possible to have and still beat this game? And as I recall you can't skip that much out of the storyline. Maybe you can skip the 12 weapons but I guess they are good to have later on.

I was thinking about doing this someday. However im not that sure it would be interesting and Im not that happy about wasting many hours on something that will be rejected. So do you think it's a good idea for an aesthic movie? The game is a shooter, like Gradius but not in space. You can choose between a helicopter or a jeep. If you play 2 players you will have em both and that was my plan if im going to do this. I remember playing this game as a kid on my brothers Commodore 64 so it has nostalgic value to me ;) Im aware of that this game is really straight forward and slow sometimes. It will get harder on later levels but im not sure if that would make it more entertaining anyways. Also it's a kinda long game. It has 8-10 stages I think so it could be repetitive pretty fast. Uh, the more I descirbe it the worse my idea sounds ;)
