I never knew exactly why you chose to redo everything but after seeing this it somehow makes sense, this is far beyond awesome at this point. Great work of course and impressive patience! keep it up.

Haven't really had time to even think about this. Can't say my motivation is anywhere near good enough either. But maybe in a few weeks i might give it a try?

I think you guys are taking this lookdown issue a bit too far. I'm pretty sure this is just about knowing the levels well, if you do, you won't have any problems with lookdown. Also, lookdown is only really used where there's nothing else interresting going on. So you're not really missing anything. You just need to get used to it, that's all.

They fixed the water? Cool Interresting findings, i'm gonna attempt to wrap it up and see if i got it right: Bonds sideways speed is always constant, only forward movement can be improved after 180 frames. I.e, building up speed by running only forwards is just as effective as sideways+forward buildup? 2.4 can build up forwards movement in cinema but not 2.3 or any other setting(???) I'm pretty this has been known to some degree before, even used it myself to some degree. Guess i always figured it worked with 2.3 as well as 2.4(think fullstrafe is held in beginning cinema of each level in current run).

At some point i would like to do TAS of this game with 60FPS, even though it doesn't agree with this sites rules i think it'd make one of the craziest TAS'es ever.

Awesome run! Using a guard to boost you after safe was ingenious :o

Rice was optimal plugin when i did the first level(roughly a year before the actual run started). Diffrences between them aren't too big though.

So far the run has aimed for fastest total time but at the same time aiming if possible for TAS wr. So if time on statue without watching cinema is 2:17.1 and with cinema 2:16.9 then watching cinema is most likely what we'll do. But for a diffrence between 2:16.9 and 2:16.0 we wont.

I guess this particular TAS didn't seem so advanced as to require that much :P (Aren't most short star videos around a few hundred rerecords or something?) Anyway nice job.

Awesome! Curious, have you been working on this run ever since the Woodfall WIP? Or how has the progress been? How much left? (Forgot what route is being used :P)

Hm now that you mention it it would be a shame not to not tie the TAS wr considering it's been done on all other levels so far. Tough choice.

The plan so far has been to use like button codes to open up Aztec and Egypt and do those before even attempting cradle. That way we'll get both level and end the game in a normal fashion. I can definately not justify watching cinema on statue :P I didn't do it on Silo either which is probably a bigger saver(?). It seems streets and statue is just boost manipulation? Is it really that hard?

Oh man, thanks ALOT Simon. This is a fantastic contribution to the run of possibly the hardest part in the entire game. What's the decimal? I'm a little too busy to continue with statue right now but perhaps i'll give it a try within 1-2 weeks.

Being against the rules doesn't stop anyone from making a run for fun. Personally i've been kinda hoping to someday TAS in 60 FPS cause lag usually make certain moves impossible and makes the run less interresting(I guess a perfect example here is the "lookdown" technique used in GE to reduce lag). So yeah, i'd at least want to see what a 60 FPS TAS looks like.

Well it's all about the safe key dude, whenever he start cooperating, run probably continues. I sent my files over to Simon a while back too, so even if i don't continue he might someday.

So the current any% run is now pretty much obsolete? I guess it was a bad call to wait to complete it :P Nice job though, that's a very nice trick!

For the sake of you guys and a certain 5 dollars i've at least given Bunker2 another shot at completion. Unavoidably i loose around 30 frames at safe key guy so i'm roughly 20 frames behind Simon at that point. Hopefully i can somehow regain that by being awesome in all other parts... If i can do a 40 i'll stick with it.

I don't suppose you have tried to contact any of the programmers behind whatever emulator you use? I mean problems like pause bug in OoT was fixed without needing to wait for a completely new version of mupen. [offtopic] both FFVIII/FFIX would certainly be a nice watch. Hope some projects will start up soon on those too[/offtopic]

I'm not sure what your specific problem is but i'd just like to say that Perfect Dark has alot of emulating problems with Mupen. So really not a good choice to start off TAS'ing n64.
