AWesome work there! I can't really give any criticism since i don't know exactly how you did the manipulation but i'm sure the run is as good as it gets :) So Surface next, I think major time can be saved here compared to wr. First of all, As far shot as possible on first cam(obviously). Then go in a straight line to 3rd cam, right strafe preferably since you want to shoot the 2nd cam through the hut walls while strafing. If you wanna be really insane, manipulate a nade in beginning and use it blow up 4th cam from outside the building while strafing to 3rd cam(I just got this off my mind, never tried it on console, might not even be possible). And then manipulate a second one on way back from 3rd cam and use for radio. Otherwise, shoot 4th cam through window strat after blowing up radio. Rest is obvious i guess. It MIGHT be possible to use your second nade and throw it from the back of the radio building, through trees to the 3rd cam and save some major time. However, you wouldnt be able to get a second nade i think unless you got both in beginning. I would estimate a time around sub 1:20 for the first strat.

Simply incredible! You are totally destroying this game RT :) Ok so Frigate next, that's gonna be pretty damn hard to manipulate. I'm not sure if you read my post over at The-Elite but i found out how the hostages work. When they are released they randomly choose between a number of predetermined coordinates and run to these. When they arrive they check if bond is in firing range(Means if the hostages can see bond, This is true even if bond/hostage is facing opposite direction, However, if bond is behind a wall or a fence and looks at the hostage, he'll still escape. So for luck manipulation, you gotta make sure that the hostage runs to the closest preset(Predetermined Coordinate). And also that you don't see him after that which shouldn't really be a problem. I'm not sure exactly when the decision of preset is being made but i think it's right before Hostage Released! message comes up.

Perhaps you should start a new topic for research stuff, it's really confusing with all those long posts about hex values etc. Just thought it'd be easier to concentrate on the current run without having to look through 3 pages of posts to find a single post that's about the run. On topic again: Comicalflop, can't you just do huryle field exactly like the old TAS? As far as i remember Guano didn't have any desynch problems there?

I'm not sure about this, but for the beginning of Bunker 1, isn't the Agent route faster? I'm not sure exactly why that route isn't used normally on 00A, possibly becouse it's not that much faster and the alarm will go off unless you don't kill the guard(which ain't a problem for a TAS of course). It's definately worth trying even if it'll only save a few tenths.

Okay so Bunker next, not really much to say about it, your last TAS was very good. 1:02 should be doable though: Try to have full speed when leaving the mainframe, i'm not so sure if you had that on the last TAS? Shooting Boris in the back before he arrives at mainframe(Perhaps you already saw this in the the-elite forums topic?). Also if you could do warps like those awesome ones you had on Facility on the last door that would be great too. Other than that i can't really think of any more things that'll actually save time.

If i remember correctly you don't need a key to open the door to the safe. I'm almost certain i was able to go instantly to the safe(without being able to open it of course). If you could hit the window from the FIRST tower than that would be awesome but is it really possible? I can't really imagine the window being visible from there. Else you could go around the explosive hut, fire a shot and run behind the sniper tower so he doesn't see you and continue running. Or possibly just wait there for him to get to you? (This was used on Aztec with Jaws back in the days but i'm not sure if he warped towards you or something?

Very nice job on Runway there! Some notes about Surface: If you've watched my Agent TAS then you know that the locks barely takes any time at all on a TAS, meaning it's probably a time saver to skip the GL. This also gives a new possibility, You can shoot through the window of the hut with the first key guard so that he sees this and runs out. I'm not sure how far you can get him but killing him outside the hut is definately worth trying. You could also try and manipulate a grenade after opening the safe to take out the locks even faster(if a guard is nearby). And lastly, boost yourself with the GL in case you can't manipulate enough guard boosts.

Umm..I did a Statue TAS with completely perfect lines, Not optimal Val strafing but not too shabby either, rest pefect except a few frames lost on the FR pick-up. That run was a 2:18. So don't get your hopes up on 2:14 dude, 2:17 would be maxed even for a TAS. Depot should be able to easily beat 0:50. You could try and shoot the RL though i'm not sure how often that can complete? That should save at least 2 seconds though. Train is a toughie to max out. But a reasonable goal would be mid 1:40's. I did 54 TAS of Archives twice WITHOUT frame advance. 53 might be possible. B2, The new strat will put you far ahead of Miikas TAS. So don't go by that one too much. For S2 i have no idea how you thought that through. First off, Why do you need a key? I've tested diffrent strats myself(on console though) and Wr strat is probably the fastest one. Stick with that and you'll get sub 1:20 easily(However, i did try a TAS on that level and shooting first camera is nearly impossible from far away even with frame advance. So you have to go pretty close). And lastly, going around the hut on Surface is faster? You got any idea about the time diffrence?

exactly when does he see you? I tried to watch the .m64 but got a desynch after Cassandra's office and then waited for the movie to play through, and i didn't see any meesages or whatever it is that happens when he "sees" you?

Has anyone actually tested to see what happens if you press A in front of an upside down chest? I mean, with bomb hovers you kinda are standing on a ground though it's not really there. It's a pretty unique case and i don't think the programmers ever had the slightest thought of this possibility. Or is it simply programmed so that it's just a texture put there to make it look like a chest? So that it doesn't really have any functions?

Death Animations only. If they're alive, then they have collision detection. Worked some more on Cavs today and i've now reached the spiral. I never went down the stairs in the obj A area so i probably gained alot of time there(1 scientist dead so far, meaning at least 1 have to escape when doing Obj C. If someone is interrested i could upload the .m64 with the progress so far. Though it's only like 20 secs long so i'm not sure if it's worth uploading yet.

Low 50? That's awesome. Can't wait to see it done. For Control, yeah luck manipulation has never really been my thing. I mean, you aim in a headshot which takes a while, then in order to change his death animation you gotta wait another frame with the shot and aim in another headshot. And since there's like tons of diffrent headshot death animations it could take a while before you get the fastest on all guards. Though i did make sure i didn't get the slower deaths. And limb hits would totally ruin my 100 headshot goal.

I started up a caverns 00A TAS yesterday which hopefully will get done like, before new year. Anyways, 12 headshots so far, they look pretty awesome since the zmg has a very quick firing speed and i can do like 4 kills when the viewer only see like 2. And the Ar33 will makes things even better since i can go for the 100+% headshots(i.e i kill 2-3 guards in 1 shot which raises the percentage above 100%). After this there will be...11 levels left.

Control 00A 4:06 I'll upload a savestate later if someone needs it. Anyways, this was meant to be complete like before new year but i had some desynch problems in the very end and didn't finish it until today. Well i ended up with exactly 100 headshots which should bring entertainment for a while at least =b

How do you play .mkv files? I've tried every player that exists. Someone said VLC but that only gives audio, no video. And the "recommended" player according to Matroskas homepage Media Player Classic can't play it either(only audio....). I also tried downloading every codec and stuff from the Matroska homepage but none of them made any diffrence.

It's strange that I need the save states because I remember L4yer said that he didn't need any. I guess I'm just noob. On Statue I think it would have been a little faster to take the flight recorder from this spot: http://img205.imageshack.us/img205/813/frvn0.jpg
Well the spot used in the TAS has been used by eliters and world record holders for many years so i just assumed that's the fastest spot. I also asked one of the best Statue players in the world and he didn't know either which one was faster. So yeah, you have a good point there.

Is it possible to get an .avi of the entire run so far? Cause i'm not entirely sure if i'm watching a strange desync or the real run which is very annoying(Either it's a very strange TAS or either the desyncs are suprisingly accurate in angles and stuff).

While waiting for this project to progress i thought some poeple might be interrested in watching other levels being done, meaning not only 00 Agent and not in order. Some of my agent stuff are obviously not as entertaining to watch as 00A stuff but still pretty cool. Anyways, Here's a list of the levels i have done: Dam Agent(0:54) Facility Agent(0:44) Runway Agent(0:22) Surface 1 Agent(1:02) Depot Agent(0:25) Statue 00 Agent(2:18) Frigate 00 Agent(0:56) - Hostages failed So yeah as i said if someone's interrested i could upload the .m64's, And i'll definately work on more levels, probably on 00A too since it's funnier.

I'd say dead for the moment. I probably could run a few levels myself but i don't really wanna do Runway and Facility. And then i'm not sure how much RT was thinking about redoing, i personally thought levels like Silo was as good as it will ever be.

I already made them but they are very large files, like 50+ mb. Therefor i also have smaller versions though those are in .wmw format.
