I don't see why poeple keep discussing entertainment issues here, you don't HAVE to watch the movie. There's no question that Any% should prioritize speed where tradeoffs are possible, always. For the sake of standardization and ability to compare movies. We can't change how that affects the entertainment of the movie so if it isn't good enough, do a separate category and post a link to it...

Does anybody know a way to save the results somewhere after every try so I can still have the results even if it crashes ?
Can Lua write/read to files? If so, create a text document and save any info you need. Not sure how that would work with crashing but i don't really see why it wouldn't work. Great job finding the perfect battle btw!

In the first level of tomb raider 5, you used flares a lot (for glitches) but it also made the movie more watchable. Is it possible to do a similar thing for tomb raider 4, for dark scenes?
Yeah i think i could do this, i'm not certain but there should be some flares to spare in this game. Some areas are too dark for brightening to have any effect.

TR2 would be the most interesting TAS, but it would also be the hardest to do due to the hordes of enemies that need to be dealt with.
I'm only somewhat familiar with TR2, may i ask what makes it the most interresting? And yeah, enemies really do suck...

3 is already being worked on by Bahamete(http://tombrunner.createforum.net/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=925). Personally i think i'm gonna go with 4 for now. If i ever finish that, we'll see about 1-2(but i'm guessing they will already be done by then :P).

For those unfamiliar with this, it's a beautiful game developed by Interplay back in '94 and was later ported to other systems, amongst them Playstation. The awesome graphics comes from the fact that they are almost entirely pre-rendered and the adventure part of the game mostly consists of making choices, avoiding death(there's like 30 unique ways to die :p) and solving puzzles. The other part of the game is action scenes where you aim and shoot at stuff. I'm mostly doing this game because i absolutely love it so i'm not sure how much entertainment it provides or how TAS-worthy the game is. But anyway, i did a WIP of the first 11 min so any feedback is welcome. I'll probably continue and finish this anyway though :p WIP1: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=so7H-cgm-ec

ALT allows you to trigger "trigger squares" from far away(not too far though). You do this by embedding in a wall then looking at the square with lasersight or binoculars. This means you can trigger cutscenes or end a level without being anywhere near that point. For example Trajan's market can be completed in 45 seconds by triggering the end of level square early.

Unfortunately not, I DID find a cutscene skip just a few days ago by saving/loading some frames before cutscene starts but when you load Lara will in almost every case be unable to move(or do anything at all for that matter...).
