That's a very good suggestion, and should be easy to do so i'll definately go for that. A small progress update: I've finished the first room. It turned out to be a little difficult to do the next part, First of all i seem to loose some time compared to the best Agent TAS simply by waiting for Natalya, prolly need to do some wierd manipulation there. Also i wanted to do some nice bullet hole messages but due to graphical issues only a fraction of the shots i fire actually create bulletholes? (Actually the bulletholes DO get there but half-transparent and only visible at close range) Anyone know if this is an issue with all graphics plugin or just Jabo, or is it like this on console as well?(can't remember lol)

Speeed addresses should be easy to find. Just stand still, search for float values of 0, start running, sub-search for increased values, repeat 10 times or so. Should be 1 forward/backwards address, and 1 left/right strafe.

Lol i made the same points you just made over at the-elite.net. That acceleration thing definately looses some if it works like you say.

I still haven't needed to do any resets. Skedar Ruins starts without a reset too. It seems like it can be manipulated with luck, because sometimes the next level starts, and sometimes it doesn't.
Obviously it doesn't always happen but when it has happend i found it pretty much impossible to get out of. On investigation for example i tried redoing from shield and still got exactly the same results. It's not as easy as pressing A on a diffrent frame...

Jungle Finished! End time: 0:49.68 Found that if i switched weapons during intro cinema and then started shooting at a very precise frame i could actually start fire that weapon immideadly at start of level and keep it without the game automaticly switching back to PP7 (this might have been a little useful for Train beginning). This allowed me to get a pretty much instant mine boost. lol, it seemed like you actually killed Trevelyan at the end.
I did ;) He is killable in Train funny enough.
The m64 desyncs at the end for me if I run the whole TAS from the beginning
Argh, this is why i hate ending long runs like these, you constantly need to watch from beginning which is now 20 mins away. This would be 4th time i redo entire ending. Had problems before synching if i started from a savestate at beginning of Train, but it seemed to work if i started from Depot. I guess that wasn't quite enough either........

Train Finished! End time: 1:40.8 Rerecords: 30885+ Pretty awesome run overall. Timewise several seconds faster than expected. Redid second car like a million times to see which strat was fastest. Think i got everything as fast as possible now. Managed to rape Trev with some headshots(planning to do this on every level he is in lol) and massacre the locks ZMG + Laser style. Outside of train there's really not much to do since there are no bullet holes for messages anywhere in end section of level so i simply fool around a bit with ZMG + unarmed and ZMG + DD44. Finished Train today but got a desynch outside of the train(prolly the most desynching place in the entire game). So well i guess it'll be up tommorrow. Time was 1:40 which beats Jack's run by 4 seconds.

Depot Complete! Well same story as streets pretty much. 43 was maxed, therefor we got 42. 1.2 definately wouldn't gain a second. Valstrafe was excellent in this vid and even with good leaning you aren't gonna get much further.

One year later and... Streets completed! Alright so...Streets was bugging me and Simon for a long time. So far we had managed to tie or beat all the best TAS times on every level but on streets this just seemed impossible. Simons 1:51 was incredible, hard to tie under normal circumstances, and since we are using 2.3 control style, we have a disadvantage by not being able to strafe Val as efficiently(leaning doesn't work while aiming). The reset thing is entirely random. I think i've had 2-3 levels work fine in a row at some point too. Gonna watch Deep sea now :) Edit: Looked excellent, nice job.

Well usually Elvis speed depends a bit on your own speed, faster start = better potential for fast elvis. I'm not sure if i'll find the motivation to do another TAS for this but i'll think about it.

Awesome, great job :) Can't think of any bigger ways of improving that. Deep Sea should be pretty easy i think, not too much manipulation to be done there. With TAS like beginning(falcon style :)) it shouldn't be hard to get an optimal Elvis. After that it's just strafing pretty much.

Oh yeah right, it seemed to synch better when recording avi. Doesn't work for normal playing though. Dunno what the rules for this case is :p I'll see if i can upload the files again...

I think i have them at home, i can send tommorrow if you haven't gotten them by then. Anyway, since the m64 can't be playbacked properly from beginning you're gonna need savestates for each individual level. For example: Villa probably can't be playbacked from beginning but may work if savestate is loaded from extraction or investigation. However every level works if it's own savestate is loaded so the villa savestate always runs villa fine but doesn't guarantee anyting after that. Btw, i think the run aimed to only beat Skedar ruins and nothing else, can't be sure though. So 5 levels left then :p

It's better quality wise. In PD i hardly spent any time perfecting or redoing a level while in GE me and Simon spent days redoing everything and manipulating stuff like mad. If i were to redo PD run, i could probably shave off quite alot of time, in GE however, more than 1 second would be astonishing.

A no-reset run is still impossible as far as i know. And well, i do at times have a descent amount of free time, and i just haven't had much interresting in TAS'ing or Perfect Dark for a while. If i'm gonna do anything this year it'll prolly be continuing the Goldeneye TAS. That one is WAAAY better and the run should've been up on this site a long time ago.

Are you moving towards first guy/trent while turning around? Cause that saves like .07 each on pd xbla. And hitting arm is also faster than headshot.

That one is 3 years old :p besides you need two sets of dual weapons for it to work.
