Well... the awards topic has been reopened... so, i'd like to nominate Pom for the shortest improvement provided for a run (4 frames) with Super Mario Bros...
(Maybe there's another one, but I cannot find it...)

Strange... I thought only lurkers couldn't vote !
And I'm happy it has been accepted... Though I'm longing for its publication, I'd be glad if some movies that have been accepted since a long time could be published (Such as Supper Happy's Astro Boy run)

BUMP to hype new Castlevania game - mad fun and the two-character gameplay is very interesting. Music is pretty solid so far and the map seems really big because of all these sub-worlds to explore.
AAAAAAHHHHH, I've ordered it from the USA, but I was not home during the delivery.... I cannot try it now....... DAMN !!!
I'll have to wait for monday now....
At least it seems to be a good game...

I was thinking of trying to make a run of this game... I've finished it once and LagDotCom gave me the idea of trying this run alongside my improvement of MMZ4...
I'm going to check first if the trick used by him in his run af the first opus are usable in that one........
I'm going to post WIPs soon...

In fact I have noticed that killing no enemies would be the faster than anything else :
- Using the buster makes you kill more than 50 enemies unlocking the X form... So I lose the frames at the end of the level when it says that...
- Using the saber makes the games stop at each hit, making me losing frames too...
- Using the shield boomerang would have made me switch by pressing start... losing frames...
So I guess the best way is to kill no enemies :D

Yeah.... I know that...... but as I explained before, this part is REALLY REALLY REALLY annoying to do and i miscalculated my timing at some moments... but I did not feel like doing it again... and it does not waste time...

I kept staring at that for a while... And then I started to imagine him taking hours of his free time just to cram all his hair through that tiny hole in his helmet. That's funny.

To begin with, you'll find the two first levels in this file.
I have to redo the end of the battle against the second boss to do as you suggested, that is to say, finish it with a charged saber hit in order to fall down before the end of the fight...
Though this will give you a good view of the imrpovements of the beginning and you may have comments on it...
Enjoy... if you accept our partnership you can PM me, MSN me or whatever you want to contact me... Now it shall be soon time to go to bed for me

-Try to find a way to grab a water cannon in the base assault level, so as to extinguish that flame that hits you in the current run. Just a thought; probably not applicable.
Won't be easy to do and might not be optimal technique to go as fast as possible...

-In Cokapetri's level, do you need to kill that mine carrier at the mid-boss area? The last room (spikes with moving handles) also seems improvable, but I haven't tested that theory.
Are you talking about the worm-like enemy ?
The last room is probably highly improvable... though i still do not know how...
I agree pretty much on the other improvements...
Another improvement comes to my mind... Using the Charged turn aroud slash to defeat mid-bosses a lot faster

yes... well, I guess you have problems with hard mode playback... Just forget then )
Unless I'm totally out of the thing, could you provide us with a save state or SRAM for that version of the game so that I can follow your progress...
Please :)

Xaphan, if you're only going to go forward with this run with a partner, I would be happy to team up with you. However, I'd like to know what you have planned as improvements/what you have done so far.
Well, i was not going to ask Zefiris for being my partner as he's working on his project, though it's true that I've been looking for a partner to improve (greatly) my pure speed normal mode run of MMZ4 (using the (E) version of the rom).
I'd be glad to team up with you Zurreco...
Roughly, the improvement I've planned were as follow :
- The big improvement part would be to gain the double jump chip... this'll be the hardest part of the run as most of the pieces needed for that are in Heat Genblem's level like the some of the parts for the Galacta armor... It will require a lot of Luck Manipulation...
- This will result in changing the Boss Order (Still going for Mandragora first, then Genblem instead of Cockapetri)
- Improving not so good part (I don't have precise examples for now but i'll check it again)
I've already improved the first two missions I'll post the WIP in the evening... and I'll try to be more precise about what should be modified too...
If you're still interested in that project, I'd be really happy :)

I know... though I'm not responsible for that... It's the same for both MMZ3 and 4...
I hope at least the "good play" part will be prevalent over the bad time movies

Really, thank you Mike...!
About Leviathan... It was hard as hell to make her do her stabbing attack so that I can combo her... unfortunately, when she touches the ground, the recoil makes her go back quickly making the last slash inefficient... So I have to get hit before I can combo her (to be placed right under her...)

Just to say that the next update will probably be the submission itself. Though i'll keep in mind that I have to make some savestates... I was just too lazy to make them before :P
