Can you even run in Diablo I? I've had the game for years and I could never find a way to run... It makes the game very... umm... yes.

Locke: Said Paladin is using enigma, an armor runeword that grants the user teleport. The paladin is also probably using a maxed out Fanatacism/Blessed Hammer set up (known as Hammerdin), along with a really burly act II mercenary. For a time of 105 seconds, the player is also using a map hack to get from the Worldstone Keep 2 way point to the Throne. Xebra: Rather than simply laughing at people, why not explain your times. Also, you should probably inform them that these won't be the most legit runs out there.

He means being rushed through acts 2, 3, and 5. Usually, you kick back in town while higher levels give you way points/critical spots.

I thought that Snare can't be used on bosses (ie they shake a lot, but don't pass into the void). That would mean that any fast boss fights would require Doom/X-zone even if you do have Mog with you. Since you're probably going to be using the Moogle Charm, it doesn't matter in the long run: you'll have Mog in the party with at least the Dusk Requiem and whatever the Flatland/Sun song is, so worrying about the time it takes to get dances is pointless. Speaking of dances: isn't it better to have Mog use the latter dance for any fights he is in, considering it has multipurpose singular/multiple damage spells and a very helpful heal spell? I assume the only time he wouldn't be dancing is when you're in battles that require specific spells or targets. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

I thought this game was called "Arcade's Revenge". It would make an interesting time attack, assuming that whoever is playing it is a master gamer and knows how to use each character. The only detractor I can really think of is the tedious 'searching' that you have to do with some of the characters (see Spiderman level 1).

Luck manipulation can be as simple as adding one extra keystroke for added effect or as difficult as having maximum input on every frame and getting nowhere near the desired effect. Not everything is as easy to manipulate as others. If you know you can randomize an item or enemy, it shouldn't take more than 200 attempts (given that you have more than 2 frames before the event) to get what you want. Also keep in mind that it is practically impossible to randomize some things in your favor.

Hopefully, Phil will come to the rescue. Otherwise, uhh, we might need to get some new encoders?

those movies would be way too long. even if you exploited the exp-level splits and got some great drops, it would take a very very long time to do some of that. a solo creation to hell baal would be like 3 days of film. a solo from creation to norm baal would be like 7 hours. a solo hell baal from wp to throne would only take like 3 minutes, tops. enigma barb/pally or a tele-sorc with some nice static field and fire spells would tear anything and everything apart. so yeah, thats that.

What Tombad is thinking of is 'Out of This World'. It isn't affiliated with Flashback at all. As for nifboy's movie: I was very impressed with it. The glitches cut the game time almost in half, and the overall planning is very evident. There were one or two points where you seemed to kill enemies for no obvious reason, but I trusted your knowledge of the game. Good show.

Voted no. I don't understand why there is this trend of only doing portions of games. The movie was good, but it wasn't perfect. I believe someone is working on a full Sonic 1 movie, though, so even a demo isn't worth publishing.

To be fair, I had my movie submitted before Ogre officially began his movie. I really have no say on whether it is to be published or not.

Had no clue about the dialoues >_< I'll redo the run. And for reference, you need the fireman during Pete so that you can stop the wall of blocks/flame lanterns. Also, jumping is faster than anything for the skating boss, and so the fireman is just used for added damage and the ability to freeze the shots for an extra jump or two.

You're gonna need some sort of proof or evidence that it's even possible before we go putting our efforts anywhere. Besides, Cheez has done a 24 minute run of the game pretty well, and he is working on a finalized version of it. I don't see why everyone is complaining that this game will be boring and take too long to be of any merit.

I would just love to see you do better than I have done in my submission
That's not the best ethos to be going around with. I never said you didn't use rerecords, I said it didn't look like you used precision. I also never said I could do better, I said it didn't look perfect. Don't take stuff so personally. I did read your submission's text. Just because you think that a game is boring due to boss fights doesn't mean that a timeattack shouldn't encompass the whole movie. Also, since you chose FCEU, as you stated, mostly for the fact that it doesn't crash while playing, your saying that "this is one of the games that is harder to make a time attack of due to all the nes emulators randomly crashing while making the movies" is irrelevant. edit: Sorry to be an ass about this, but... Taking you up on your challenge, I decided to see if your movie was indeed as fast as you say. Here is a little demo I threw together a few minutes ago. I calculated the time it took for us to get to the general.. guy person, in frame count. While your movie took approx 7341 frames to get there, my movie reaches him in the 7200 range (I didn't feel like getting the exact number, I closed FCEU after I noticed I hadn't reached 7300 yet). That means that your demo isn't perfect. Also, you managed a wall jump on the first upwards corridor that I couldn't figure out. If I had known that the slide was available from the beginning (I have never played this game before), I would've used that a lot more. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE take this as constructive criticism and nothing more. I don't take being challeneged as well as I should.

I got a real kick out of the foot soldiers that fell victim to your wheels. Overall, the movie was really well done. The only time I saw a need for improvement was at the 2nd boss (statues) where you could have maybe shot one of the middle heads while moving closer to head #1 and then later at the final boss, where is seemed like you could have used the chaingun while launching missiles. I might be wrong in both instances.

I don't understand why you submitted a 'teaser' video. If the game has a defined ending, why didn't you play through it? From what I saw, the movie looked like someone playing with savestates, and not someone who was playing wtih planning and slowdown.

where did you conjure up Slave One from? thats not even remotely near left field. Back to the topic: I think getting the buster upgrade may end up taking longer than not getting it. Aside from the fact that you will miss the interesting roof glitch in Flame Mammoth's level, you will have to go to the trouble of getting the helmet upgrade (and climbing back up) and then go to the trouble of breaking your way over to the buster upgrade, which not only takes off time to charge and fire in the demo, but also tends to create lag when youre breaking the blocks. Plus, where would you really be using the upgrade? There aren't enough instances in the game where the amount of time it takes to charge and fire the blast (even though you do conserve the final shot, taking a hit tends to make you lose the power... i think) is faster than simply switching over to shotgun ice or the spark shot. With that being said, assuming that the buster upgrade does take longer to get and use than to not get and substitute special weapons in its place, the buster upgrade should only be incorporated in a 100% run, especially since you will have the helmet upgrade by then otherwise.

I attempted a 2-player of this with a friend. I eventually gave up because it didn't look very entertaining, and we were getting pretty aggro at one another over the gameplay. I generally don't think beat-em-up games make for good timeattacks, but thats just me.

Have you: 1) Selected the correct ROMs? 2) Loaded said ROMs? 3) Selected 'Play Movie' from the CPU menu? If that doesn't help, I don't know what to tell you.

Similar to megaman x series. Anyone for a challenge? (to perform the special trick, you must collect 2800 points in level/mission 1. That way, the game can be finished a lot faster and easier even on hardest level)
I wouldn't go as far as saying Cybernator is similar to any of the Megaman X games, but this is still a great title. What special trick are you talking about? The napalm cannon? As soon as you get the laser upgrade, there is really no need to use anything else (and at higher levels, it would be foolish to not use a maxed out laser cannon).

If you were going for time, and not points, you should have just skipped the bonus stages. Good movie so far, aside from the bonus stages.
