Seconding Anon's very old post's suggestion of Pocky & Rocky. I think a run of that could turn out to be both fast-paced and entertaining (and fairly short too).
I believe Mr. K started a TAS of this game. Or maybe it was the sequel?
nitsuja had a WIP that felt more like a playaround than a speedrun. There were issues with desynchs in the old snes9x builds that kept him from finishing IIRC.

This is really bad and I don't like it. Voted Yes.

Obvious Yes. Why does the encode say "No Cutscenes," but still include the 2 minute long intro?

My role was just to run up the rerecord count as best I could, apparently.

Are you guys planning on doing any freemium style memberships? I wouldn't mind being accosted by ads and video interstitials every 15 seconds or so. Or maybe I could complete a series of surveys with partner sites? Even better, you could have me install a browser toolbar. Gotta have my pro, man.

It's a fairly simple answer, albeit a little broad and melodramatic. The pool of potential runners is over saturated in comparison with the early 2000s, which dilutes the quality of input. With the explosion of twitch, there's been a shift towards dedicated runners, which has in turn shifted a lot of people towards "contributor" roles, rather than taking the time to compete as their own entity. I would hate to say that the success of others is prohibitive for others who haven't met with the same accolades, but so be it. At the same time, a lot of quality, competent content creators are getting burnt out from people treating this hobby as something more (JXQ, Walker Boh, etc.). Also, the pool of fresh, interesting games is moving laterally. That's probably due to the nostalgia factor, but... eh. It seems like a lot of people don't compete over current records so much as bring in new games for running. You'll see the same phenomena in the speedrunning community as well, though not as much, since this a highly specialized group within the overall community. It'll all bounce back in time.

Excellent run. Voting Yes on that alone, but I also support your decision to skip Stereo. The audio trade off is negligible in the name of saving frames.

So it is a 0.58s improvement frame wise, but it is a 1.29s improvement real time wise? Why wouldn't you defer to the latter metric and make note of the emulation change? Are we using this 60.01 fps model for all runs that are emulated correctly?

The publication page says that this is a 0.58s improvement, but the time difference (7:06.02 vs 7:04.73) is actually 1.29s. I get that the first number is pulled from the frame improvement (assuming this game runs at 60fps), but there is still a disparity. Am I misreading something?

I'll vote after I finish watching the run.

I get the feeling that this will be literally impossible later on unless you seriously glitch your stats from Level 1. That, or manipulating misses on full party auto-spells.

That site cannot be real.
It was only sustained by a tiny, tiny group of people who utterly hated Bisqwit. The whole charade depended heavily on everyone's faith in Reciprocal's account of what went on over here. Their community imploded in a matter of hours when the site owner openly questioned Reciprocal's response to us attempting open communications. Yeah, it was really stupid.

The nate thread on m2k2 pales in comparison to The Truth Garden. That site had a list for all of the similarities between Bisqwit and Hitler, explicitly because we supported timeattacks.

This run makes me very happy. Good work on totally brutalizing this game.

It's because he thinks we should classify GBx games as DMG games instead.

Yeah well, that's to be expected. Too many random techniques to test in each scenario.

How many of these levels are direct copies of the PSX versions? Well, either way, it wasn't all that entertaining, skill wise or manipulation wise. It's the fault of game choice, though. No vote.

This game gives some odd first-glance interpretations of what the Japenese are meant to accept/avoid. Otherwise, while I don't think that the level of gameplay is staggering or anything, the entertainment factor is usually fairly high. I couldn't care less about how fast you can mash during an eating test or something, but watching the results of victory for you versus failure for others is always great. I'm giving this a really weak Yes vote. I feel like a lot of the greatness of this run only comes from the fact that a lot of people haven't seen what this game can offer (content wise) due to its obscurity. Oh well.

Seems a little repetitive, but it was quick enough that it didn't become too much of a detractor. I always wanted to have a rewind function when playing these types of games, so it's nice to see what good luck and good aim can accomplish. Yes vote up in dis.
