Just chiming in to say that I was also having desynchs with the run on the second level. What I saw of the first level was passable, but I won't vote until I see it all.

Wow, I never thought that a few route changes and some advanced gameplay would cut off >20% of the old run's time. I guess I underestimate the new stuff.

Depends on the severity of the glitch used. Use the CotM runs as an example: one plays normally with a fairly game breaking glitch, but the other totally breaks the game with a second glitch.

This is an example of how you can list every run of a certain system by it's rating, in descending order. It can be done for all systems.
I don't know if you can list them by each individual rating, though.

More like "how the fuck did he knock down that building? Oh, right, he climbed while punching, followed by smashing the roof. Didn't I do that with my sister when I bought the game? Yeah, I did. Man, this is getting really repetetive..."

I would say that this is too repetetive to be too interesting. Manipulating flags and VERN drops would be the only thing separating a tool assisted run from a console run.

Why do you keep bringing proportionality in to this? Using your logic:
-Many people never thought that we could harness the power of light.
-Many people never thought that the 4 minute mile was possible.
-Since, in the past 50 years, 2000 people have confirmed running a 4 minute mile, that means that only 2000 people every 50 years (or 40 people a year) are able to operate light bulbs.
See where the logic is faulted? You're trying to compare things which shouldn't be compared in such a manner. It doesn't matter to what extent people are now capable of beating the the 4 minute mile, or how many people in how much time have done so: what matters is that we eventually broke that barrier. No one claimed that thousands of people are going to start breaking the Super Metroid barriers. Why are you bringing it up?
So, as everyone has said, please stop posting.

You really need to remove your router from your home.
Debate End GO!
-4 minute mile was once thought to be impossible. This was eventually done, though.
-Sub32 SM run was once thought to be impossible. This was also eventually done.
-At no point was the claim made that only a certain amount of people would be able to complete either of these tasks within any given time frame.
Conclusion: Shaded Spriter's comment stands, laughing_gas' comment was useless.

This is a great game, and the physics can be totally manipulated for super speeds. The game might get super repetetive, though, since a lot of the levels are very boring and passé.
For past input, the old thread for this game can be found here.
