Just chiming in to say that I was also having desynchs with the run on the second level. What I saw of the first level was passable, but I won't vote until I see it all.

If this game doesnt get thrown out, to answer the time question. I am saying that this game will be done in sub 1 hour 55 minutes :) That means, skipping at least 6-8 cutscenes that last 30 seconds to a couple of minutes. skipping the 2 temples I went to last time. Its all science.
Wow, I never thought that a few route changes and some advanced gameplay would cut off >20% of the old run's time. I guess I underestimate the new stuff.

Will this go sub 2h?
Very doubtful. Probably only going to shave 10-15 minutes.

Personally, I think there should be a new category made, IE, "Major sequence breaking".
Depends on the severity of the glitch used. Use the CotM runs as an example: one plays normally with a fairly game breaking glitch, but the other totally breaks the game with a second glitch.

I was just wondering if it's possible to implemenet a table, that shows the all the rated movies for each console, from highet rated to lowest. I'm thinking that this could both show ratings for "Entertainment value" and "Technical quality".
This is an example of how you can list every run of a certain system by it's rating, in descending order. It can be done for all systems. I don't know if you can list them by each individual rating, though.

More like "how the fuck did he knock down that building? Oh, right, he climbed while punching, followed by smashing the roof. Didn't I do that with my sister when I bought the game? Yeah, I did. Man, this is getting really repetetive..."

This must be the most inefficient use of image format I have ever seen in my life: A 2-color 600x200 image in bmp format, taking a whopping 352 kB of space. Converting it to png and optimizing reduced it to 2 kB.
We have the choice between Warp and a Turd Sandwich!

Does anyone have any strong emotions against me doing this? Would you like to see it optimised nonetheless?
As long as it's entertaining and doesn't lose any time, go for it. Will you still be doing some of those tricks that require tools?

Interesting... um... was it made by professionals? I'm on 56k, so I don't want to waste bandwidth to see high school students reading wikipedia or something.
It's professionally done (GameTrailers), and it's been somewhat worth the watch so far.

I have some doubts about your entry into Grandma's room, though. It appears that you hesitated at the door for half a second, and you walked (instead of Deku-spinning) to her. What gives?
Mayhap the distance from the door to her is too short to make spinning the fastest method of reaching her in time to chat?

I would say that this is too repetetive to be too interesting. Manipulating flags and VERN drops would be the only thing separating a tool assisted run from a console run.

I'm just saying that running is firmly ingrained in human society thus more and more people will eventually achieve 4 minute mile, whereas as video games evolve less people remain playing SM so the chances of a 32 min run being repeated grow slimmer.
Why do you keep bringing proportionality in to this? Using your logic: -Many people never thought that we could harness the power of light. -Many people never thought that the 4 minute mile was possible. -Since, in the past 50 years, 2000 people have confirmed running a 4 minute mile, that means that only 2000 people every 50 years (or 40 people a year) are able to operate light bulbs. See where the logic is faulted? You're trying to compare things which shouldn't be compared in such a manner. It doesn't matter to what extent people are now capable of beating the the 4 minute mile, or how many people in how much time have done so: what matters is that we eventually broke that barrier. No one claimed that thousands of people are going to start breaking the Super Metroid barriers. Why are you bringing it up? So, as everyone has said, please stop posting.

loving the white screen. An accurate idea of the run is obtained if all the images on this page are made into an animated gif. I know animated gifs aren't used but I thought I'd throw my opinion into the bunch.

You really need to remove your router from your home. Debate End GO! -4 minute mile was once thought to be impossible. This was eventually done, though. -Sub32 SM run was once thought to be impossible. This was also eventually done. -At no point was the claim made that only a certain amount of people would be able to complete either of these tasks within any given time frame. Conclusion: Shaded Spriter's comment stands, laughing_gas' comment was useless.

There is something on the page that mwl linked to that slightly proves his point, though I can't say to what extent.

This is a great game, and the physics can be totally manipulated for super speeds. The game might get super repetetive, though, since a lot of the levels are very boring and passé. For past input, the old thread for this game can be found here.
