against single opponents DK can just knock them off the ledge and do the forward+A smash for an instant kill. Getting them to the ledge quickly is a harder problem.
I'm pretty sure Fox, Captain Falcon, and Ness are the fastest killers in the game. Fox is the second fastest/can push people off with his shield, CF is the fastest and has a very strong smash and spike technique, and Ness has the best spike in the game. There is no way that DK is faster than these three, since he has to lumber over to his opponent and set up two hits, both of which take a lot of time to do. DK would probably only excell in the Wire Frame battle, and even that is a long shot.

I had a small list of improvements for the run as a whole somewhere, but I think I can remember most of it. -Use the E ROM so that I know what crafting materials are dropping :p -The second boss (before you meet the Einharjer) should be beaten with a charged shot, if possible, so that you can blow him up and fall to the door at the same time. -Genblem should be done second, since you really need to downstab to finish that fight as soon as possible. I would have normally said to do him first, but you need Noble's EX Skill to beat the FireDragon and Genblem a lot faster. -In Cokapetri's level, do you need to kill that mine carrier at the mid-boss area? The last room (spikes with moving handles) also seems improvable, but I haven't tested that theory. -If you're still taking the lower route in Fenrir's stage, you only need to use Genblem's EX skill to melt the ice (ie no Vshot needed). -Try to find a way to grab a water cannon in the base assault level, so as to extinguish that flame that hits you in the current run. Just a thought; probably not applicable. -Luck manipulation with Kraken, Pegasault, and the Jail boss would be great. I'm pretty sure that you can get off a triple-slash if a block lands near to the Jail boss' head. -Miniboss in Magnus' stage could be improved by using the wall as a jump position. -In Random Bandom's stage, the room order should be fixed so that you don't need to trek across the main room as much as you did. I propose that [Up, Left, Down, Right] is the fastest path to take here. -The Weil2 battle is improvable. Don't waste so much time killing the nets, and toss a few slashes in to the three large red balls so that they dissipate much faster. -Generally using a charged buster whenever you can, so as to avoid the slash-lag. That, or the knuckle, since ripping a weapon and tossing it still saves you that one frame loss.

IMO the moon icon should be reserved for sleeper runs - TAS's that are great to watch but long and weird. There should be a brain buster (exploded brain) for movies like nitsuja's S3&K and adelikat's new Gradius.
Moons are honorable mentions. Why on Earth would we want to label movies as "this is great but it will confuse you and/or put you to sleep"?

So what is the idea for this game? 100% speed or every goal acheived? What about competitions?

No. Gannondorf is dead and anyone that makes claims to have seen him is retarded. Hey, man, there is a Temple of Light and a Triforce in OoT as well! And a 4th Triforce piece!

Xaphan, if you're only going to go forward with this run with a partner, I would be happy to team up with you. However, I'd like to know what you have planned as improvements/what you have done so far.

That seems like a lot of excess work for such a simple task. My hat goes off to you, sir.

Was the Bolero of Fire one of the songs painted on the walls outside that you can play and get rupees for?
I think it's something very similar, but not identical.

First post in an epic thread. Still watching, but expect a yes vote in about 20 minutes, when I finish having a heart attack in Rainbow Ride and Bowser 3. e: The dive for the 120th star was very dramatic. In the back of my mind, I registered that you were only a little ways off from diving in to oblivion. Nice.

I'd like to see this, but the simple fact that some levels can't be done in one fluid motion (see Mall) kinda ruins the overall flow of a run. Still, you could bust out a 100% run <15 minutes if you plan accordingly.

I would only accept that in order to see a tool-assisted Fighter mode. Everything else is bollocks.

You know, I hate to do this, but is it so hard to get such a simple name as Rikku correct? That's like the 4th time you've messed up the name.

Are you sure having a bunch of the same notes together is a good idea? wouldn't alternating notes be better so you can activate them on consecutive frames or something?
That, and it would be more interesting to hear something cool. I propose you try to do the Power Rangers midi.

In other words, "fake" has a very negative connotation to it, which is something I'm not happy about when people talk about TASes.
Well, if someone attempts to pass a tool assisted movie as a console real time movie, then it IS a fake. If they're using the term fake to describe what we do because of their personal bias, that is a mistake on their part. For the record, though, can you think of any situations where "fake" can be a good thing? I personally find people that, say, masquerade as Santa to make kids happy, are doing more harm than good. The term fake is really only used in a negative sense, since we have other terms that mean the same thing, but don't have the stigma.

My favorite part was megaman's expression when the saw busted through the floor. Classy. Voting yes, even though Diveman's music sounds more like that one asian tune I have for my ringtone, rather than the real song.

Rather than make a new thread, I'll just hijack this one: I'm trying to find the name of a specific GB game. In it, you are a ninja who fights evildoers that are polluting the planet. Enemy boss themes are like 'bad oil guy' and 'hey im CO2' or something. Anyways, you play the levels in a megaman-esque way, where you pick the boss to fight and you play their level in order to get to them. Does anyone know what this game is?

Improvements are scattered all about, and they're only bits and pieces at a time. IF someone was going to improve the run, it wouldn't be by much of a difference. Someone will probably solve the Bowser2 door glitch now that I've said this. Knock on wood.

It's nowhere near as accurate. Also, it isn't as readily available as PD's timer clock.

This is known about. It's fairly well documented. I think the best clear time was something like 0:04, but that was unassisted. Either way, it requires outside modification of files, so it wouldn't be OK as a TAS. edit: Well, let's see what you have. Your method could be something totally new and exciting.
