I know they're all opinions, but:
Already a rejected submission. The game is incredibly repetetive, and for the time it takes to beat it, you could see 2x as much content in another game.
We already discussed how different it was from the NES version to make the comparison a moot point.
I don't get this reasoning. "The video game was too not-serious, so it would make for a bad speedrun"? The run over at SDA is actually very well done, and an optimized version would be one of the better N64 runs on the site.
For the gameplay it gives, the graphics aren't that bad. The game is actually really really interesting, but a lot of people brush it off because of the 2d sprite imaging. Also, if you think this game is slow/long, you haven't really played it with time in mind. It's one of the fastest Action RPGs for the 64.
Let me once again make the point that graphics do not decide the runnability of a game. Otherwise, lots of NES and Genesis games wouldn't be on the site. Let me also reiterate that if you think this game is slow, you have never really tried to play it with speed in mind. As a reference, the SDA time for this game is ~2.5 hours, and that's without abusing the many MANY glitches and tweaks that this game's physics engine has.

There are many schools that do have a clause for falsely pulling the fire alarm. Since every false alarm costs the school a lot of money in fines, people caught doing it face fines and detention/suspension/probation/expulsion, depending on where/when/why. I know that a girl at a local HS was expelled because she tried to get out of each and every one of her tests by pulling the fire alarm 5 minutes before classes started.

Uhh, they have a little sensor that tells the fire department when which alarm is pulled, but its not like a little whining alarm goes off when someone only completes the first part of pulling the alarm.
Luckily for me, my freshmen dorms only had 39 people in them, so it would be insanely easy to tell who had pulled the fire alarm and kick their ass. Now that I'm off campus, the only alarm I care about is when the neighbors toss a hot pan under running water, creating steam that sets off their smoke detectors. It's only happened twice, but hey.

1) Have you seen GuanoBowl's work with this? His thread about MSX for FBA is on the same page as this one.
2) Your avatar is probably too big to be kosher by board standards. Also, you aren't from Eagleland, liar.

No, but that's because Xaphan's published movie is pretty close to the ideal. I would actually be pretty upset if a normal mode submission wasn't similar.
Also, I am of the people that think that hard mode, while "edgy" and "different", is not any more entertaining than the normal mode publish is. Since your character will be weaker, you'll have to rely on either weaker repetition attacks (Knuckle + Roll), or use weapons that are stronger than this. Essentially, the only weapons you'll really use are the Axeloid Axes and the Daggers that Weil fires off. Any other items you can pull probably won't speed up anything beyond what is possible with the Knuckle+Roll combo. That isn't enough of a difference to really make it seem worthwhile. In fact, it's even more restricted than the published version, since it uses the EX Skills for interesting combos.
Final Verdict: A hard mode submission will not be anywhere near as interesting as the published version. It will be longer, more repetetive, and third point here. That being said, if you're doing this without the hopes of it being accepted, go for it. Otherwise, if you do plan to submit this, I wouldn't hold your breath for an acceptance.

I WONDER IF YOU'RE GOING TO PUT AN IMAGE IN THE ZIP!
Voting Meh, again, since I don't find this run to be too anything in general blah justification here.

Right, but who would want to use the charged Zknuckle? I mean, sure, if you want to run around slapping all the bosses, be my guest.
My main point was that pretty much everything would be much slower. I can't think of any instances where using the charged Zknuckle instead of other options would ever be more interesting.

Yes, in the same sense that getting paid $1000 instead of $500 means you have to carry twice as much cash to the bank.
Getting the minimum coins to pass on each game is a fair given, I would say.

Not wrong, per se, but just clarifications. You can only 'optimise' certain games by manipulating what you are given in the beginning, and so it should be taken avdantage of a lot. However, no one is going to care about a 30 frame difference in a complete minigam island run.

What happens when we start putting submissions in there, even when the authors meant for them to be serious attempts? That's a pretty hilarious slap in the face.

Oh, OK. Yeah, I don't do this, and neither should you :p
It sucks, though, when you buy a game just to say that you've played it/beaten it. I did that with Majora's Mask: didn't need the game until people started talking about it left and right, and so I bought it just to beat it and be done with it. Now, it more or less sits at the back of my collection of N64 games.

Personally, I always play through games just to play them at first, but then my I can't help but shooting for 100% beating and completing everything the game can offer. Buying a GBA is a terrible idea if you have the above ethos. Every game you can get is great, but comes with the ability to consume all of your free time in the hopes of full completion.
I'm more concerned with the fact that I always get very very anxious when I notice that I could have done things faster, or if a dialog seems like it is taking too long. I know I'm not shooting for a fast completion time or anything, but in the back of my mind I'm thinking "man, this is just seconds of my life I just wasted by taking the left path to a dead end when I totally should have gone to the right."

The goals of each stage remain the same between difficulties. So, in respect to the 100p goals, the only thing that would be more challenging is the mission times, but those are really lenient as is.
However, by switching to hard mode:
You lose the ability to charge any of your weapons
You lose the ability to use EX Skills
I'm pretty sure you lose the ability to craft items
Nothing changes for the better
Therefore, running any of the Zero series after 1 in Hard Mode is retarded, since it slows every boss fight (and even some normal enemy encounters) by a lot, since your best modes of attack are jump slashes or charging your shield boomerang (which kills your ability to dash). You also can't combo or affix the Galacta Armor, so the best chance you have of killing anything is in increments of 4 damage. Hard Mode = boring mode

Yes, IRC is notified whenever a new topic, post, or major edit occurs. It only knows if an edit is minor or major depending on whether the poster clarifies it, so all edits are assumed major.
Don't worry about it, though; most people don't know about it. Now that you do, though, you have no excuse for the future. (not a threat)

10 edits and counting! Looks like Twelvepack is going for a record!
Seriously, though, either use the Preview ability, or check the 'this is a minor edit' box when modifying your post. IRC doesn't need to know that you wanted to adjust the spacing of your sentences so many times over.

Yep. The ROM that this submission uses can skip most cutscenes. However, the submitter must have really liked the scenes, since most of them aren't skipped.

Voting no right away. The first level is very very suboptimal. Don't use dash slashes, don't rip the shields from the flamethrowers, the boss fight was slower than necessary. It goes on like this. I've watched the first few levels, and it's very obvious that this is improvable.
Have you seen Xaphan's published run? It's faster, and not just because it isn't a 100p run. You shouldn't be 20 minutes slower just because of enemy farming and damage avoiding...
e: At least you didn't make the mistake that Xaphan made in the beginning of Lunaedge's level: you didn't waste time using the fire VShot to melt the ice.

Off the top of my image folder, but nothing fancy:
UneDeuxTroisQuatre
I'm going to grab Interrobang's torrent of images, since I know that there is some quality sauce in there.
Et maintenant:
CinqueSixSept (blanche et noir seulement, svp)
