Amazingly, the beginning to every Mario game looks very similar. Optimizing is more important than having a personal style.

Amazingly, the movie was posted over a month ago! Mix in the fact that it takes some time to make a quality run like that, and it becomes obvious that the run wasn't made after a lot of other techniques/improvements could be found. Therefore, to judge that movie (which is at least 2 months old) for not having techniques that were discovered within the last 2 months is a bad idea.

EDIT -- It also has a link to this site beside the video.
The link is dated, though, which makes me question whether or not the author is a member here or not.

If it wasn't submitted to this site, it wouldnt have been hosted here. Also, it's more of the same as spezaffer's run, but with the necessary improvements.

I think you may be surprised, in a run the WT will be completed in less than 3 mins.
That just furthers my point. Everyone that expects a full medallion run to be something that is more interesting than the glitchful runs we have now is in for a shocking surprise. In fact, an all medallion non-100% run would probably be even more boring, since you have so many extra cutscenes to sit through, some of which are longer than the temples themselves.

No, but they aren't supposed to pop up in a forum that states not to post threads like this.
ROM requests are not allowed. This also applies to private messages. Posts that contain pointers to law-breaking sites (warez, ROMs, etc) or to pornography are not allowed. The moderators reserve the right to edit your posts if they contain links or mentions of such sites.

Asking for ROMs/ROM sites is against the rules. I would suggest that you close this thread immediately.

may I suggest giving Majora's Mask a try?
Is the route even fully decided upon yet? If so, can I get a link/rundown of it? e: Also, running MM right now would seem to be futile, since the group of super trick finders hasn't bothered to give MM the attention that they're giving OoT.

The numbers are static for the enemies; otherwise, the 'always drop soul' cheat would not work. Also, it would be useful for reference purposes. While the RNG can't be guided, it can be manipulated in certain manners. Finding out exactly how things affect the RNG alone would be epic, because that could create a formula by which to change the RNG directly. However, I'm currently only interested in finding the drop values for each monster.

A great improvement on the older publication. Yes vote. Can you go in to detail about the MetaKnight and final boss fights? I was a bit confused about the waiting between certain hits.

Quick notes regarding luck manipulation: It's easier to predict where is the best place to get a certain soul if you use the Memory Viewer (32 bit, Automatic Update) and jump to 0x2000000 - WRAM.
Would you be interested in cataloging the values at which each enemy drops its soul? There is a number at which, at that value or lower/higher, an enemy will give up its soul. Someone had started a catalog of all values, but gave up/never got back to me on it, and I've been tossing around starting it by myself.

Yeah, I've seen this before. The program is called 'LACOOL'. As shown on youtube, a goon from Something Awful made that compilation a few years ago whilst working in his physics department. Granted, he was using an earlier version (difference between youtube movie and the original link), but they're the same iteration of software. The only real difference is that the newer version is meant to not need programmed input to go ahead. Getting your hands on it is either insanely easy or insanely difficult, depending on who you know. I know that mirrors and torrents appear all over the SA subforums' IRC channels, but I've never bothered to nab it.

If you zip the smv file, pretty much any upload site will work. Otherwise, you could get on IRC to DCC the file to flagitious/talk to DeHackEd directly.

provided that its actually entertaining and very fast.
It will be about the same, entertainment wise, as the current any%, since practically every area can be terribly broken with the glitches for this game. Forest Temple can be all but skipped as soon as the Bow is found. Water Temple can be broken with 'Farores Dive', if not by skipping the need for the Longshot with the Infinite Sword/Bomb trick. Fire Temple can be skipped outright with the Bomb Ladder trick, although getting the Megaton Hammer may be necessary Shadow and Spirit, as currently shown, are fodder in general.

Probably managed to use a web skulltula to boost through the wall into the basement.
You mean the skulltula next to the map chest -> the entrance to Gohma? That would save more than 30 seconds.

Giving this a Yes vote. You made the boring parts interesting, and you made the interesting parts very so. Good job, champ.

After having a lengthy explanation given to me in IRC, I've decided to vote Yes. I liked the game, but it kinda sucks when you had to add in so many waiting periods and whatnot in order to do this so quickly. Oh well. It would be excellent if the explanation of what happened in the game was expanded from brochure mode to novel mode: specifically, on the dragon fight and the final boss fight.

I'm voting no. Not only is the game incredibly boring, but it has some obvious flaws.

Some have 16! However, I don't think it's cool to be as dismissive as to say that a more 'traditional' run of OoT, which some people have expressed interest in, is "stupid".
