Here is the thing about the town: after your first dash, don't jump to the full height that you can. Stay one pixel below the ledge. Then, you will be able to avoid the pots and still retain the maximum speed. The ~15 frames lost to starting a new dash will be undone by the ~30 frames of lag.

Man, Fabian, I expected more out of you. You call this an improvement? Yeesh. Easy yes vote. You had me at the Donut Plains Ghost House, my love.

This is my first time watching your WIP, so... In the vertical section of 1-3, are you grabbing the last floating platform at the lowest pixel? I ask, because it seems like you could maybe save one jump off of the far wall by flying at the apex of your last wall jump. The hippogriff and Arma1 fight were very nice. I'm impressed. The skull bashing game was fairly nice, but it looks like you could have manipulated it a bit more. The best set up is either consecutively alternating low level skulls, or a high/low combo of skulls in the same column, since you can jump up to break the top, and then fall and break the bottom one in one fell swoop. Your path through town is also questionable. Why do you even jump up to the ledges? It would be fastest if you stuck to the bottom of the town and dashed over the fountain/past the Arremer. The lag caused by the pots is way too detrimental. Otherwise, it all looks nice.

Are you using my route or Serj's route?

Right, but when someone says 'the run was amazing, but the backwalking was boring', that is nothing to get offensive about. However, if someone says 'remake the run but make it 20% slower because I want to see what you're doing all the time', then I think it's ok to tar and feather that person.

While I don't have a problem with the backwalking, I think it is more than ok to voice an opinion over how dull the backwalking can be. Getting upset with people for making a legit observation on something is really stupid.

Please do explain how not walking backwards would've made the run better. I just can't figure out why it would.
A lot of people are unfamiliar with the route that the game uses, so it isn't very interesting to see where we were rather than where we are going. You can't really appreciate half of the game when you're seeing everything in rear-view.

Build a potato battery, and then shoot for a potato TV set. Actually, my friend has this interesting hobby of whittling mugs/steins out of cheap blocks of wood. If you felt "I'm thirsty, but my cup doesn't quite reflect my opinions about water", you should make your own mug.

If you avoid everything but Giant Skeleton, Manticore, Great Armor, Balore, Death, and Graham (assuming you don't go for the best ending). You'll only have 660 exp gained before Balore, which doesn't even put you to level 5. You'll probably have some crappy ass weapon, and so you'll be hitting for about... uhh, 1 damage per swing. 4000 strikes * 15 frames per hit = 1000 seconds or 16.6 minutes. that is under perfect conditions, too: Balore's fists aren't always down, and you can't hit the second eye too many times. You would definitely break the 20 minute mark. Do you want to see someone fight a boss for 20 minutes? I don't think that that is worth seeing at all. I just fiddled around on my GBA and I got bored with the fight, even with a full Headhunter on.

This is a terrible idea. Balore will take like 20 minutes, no joke.

The only money you will need is for the skull bashing game, and you get that money from the first pot in the graveyard. For the lower skulls in the game, you can jump and initiate a headbutt in midair so that you hit it while landing. It's essentially faster to keep the skulls on the bottom two rows because of this.

I maintain that you need to stop maintaining false information. I also maintain that maintain is a really weird looking word, and that we should stop using it forthwith!

Wouldn't this run take something like 10 hours to complete, even with one powerhouse group and luck abuse?

I think he wants you to watch it for pointers or something. The main reason my submission didn't get accepted was because it never finished. Also, frame advance would have helped a lot.

No, you confuse Natalie Portman with Keira Knightley. I remember because you said "almost" when we were in IRC. Man, that was like 2 months ago...

I thought you confuse her with another actress all the time. How can you be sure that it's actually Natalie Portman in that movie?

This could all be avoided if, at birth, a baby has to sign a contract stating that so long as it plans to livein a country, it agrees to serve the country for a term of 6 months. The state acknowledges that the baby theoretically has the mental capacity to comprehend the contract, of course.

Maybe if you did a max $ run, along with getting married and getting full upgrades. Otherwise, probably not.
