I actually prefer Umihara Kawase to Bionic Commando/HNF. I had never played either of the games before I saw the movies, and UK showed more diversity and 'perfection' than BC/HNF did.

Talk to hornqvist and OgreSlayeR, unless GSGold stops being a little baby and gets back into trying to timeattack.
You hear that? GSGold is a big baby. Wait, I just referred to him as a little baby...
OK, here we go: GSGold is a medium sized baby that can appear to be either large or small depending on his mood.
Back to the star nominees; will there be a specific amount of stars out there at a time? I mean, as we expand our library, you would think that we would have more starred movies. Maybe it should be a certain % of the total movies must be starred?

- Tails serves a purpose in two key parts of the movie. In Green Hills (I suck with names, spare me), he is used to break a block early and escape the lava undamaged, which is rare. In one of the Robotnik fights, Tails is used to end the fight much much faster.
-Knuckles isn't exactly 'present' in Sonic 3, either. Sure, he chews up a few minutes of the movie via slow scinematics and a boring boss fight, but that doesn't really count. I'm more upset at the lack of Tails in S3 (I know he's in the game, but barely) than I am with the lack of Knuckles in S2.
I still think Sonic 3 deserves the star over Sonic 2, but that doesn't mean it's not a close call.

We have one NES Metroid and one SNES Metroid star out of a possible 6. Although they are all great, we can really only pick one from each group, since the NES movies are essentially the same and the SNES movies are also essentially the same. We also only have 3 Megaman movies out of a possible 11 on the site. That's because 1 and 2 are differenct enough to show some really entertaining stuff without being more of the same thing, and X2 is totally a totally different kind of game. Therefore, it only seems fitting that we pick one Sonic movie, as their gameplay is too close together.
Also, I don't agree that all 3 SMB movies should be starred, but whatever. I think only 3 really deserves it, although 2 is also pretty entertaining, albeit a bit hard to follow.

We need to pick one or the other. I prefer Sonic 2 to Sonic 3, since it shows the same amount of stuff in less time, aside from a few glitches. Also, Sonic 2 doesn't have a lot of waiting for scinematics...

Well, sorry to derail this, but technically the 100% kill movie does not kill 100% of the enemies. There are maybe two enemies that slip by for, for lack of knowledge on my part, no reason. The moa heads I do not count for the kill %.
I think the speed movie is more of a nominee than the ~100% kill movie, but why don't we just nominate both?

How about Neofix? He started off with some pretty 'blar' movies, and now he has a few published runs and a few queued for the same fate. Plus, his work with Strider is commendable, but I am unsure if that meets the deadline.

You two should make a movie for Super Ghouls 'n Ghosts. Trade off after every boss or something. It was decided that the level select is acceptable as a means to activate the Fairy Ring, so start the game off by warping to 7-2 and killing Belth.

I think Morimoto's Gradius movie is still the most entertaining NES movie on the site.
Although the fact that it is a scroller seems to hinder it a bit, the level of gameplay is spectacular. Also, the good balance of showing off and actually getting some things done is incredible.

Actually, I think whole late night crew on IRC should be able to split the whole non-software help. When we aren't dinking around, we can get a lot done. Also, the constructive criticism that comes with each WIP is astounding at some points.

Mach Punch may be fast, but that is obsoleted with frame advance. Any weapon that doesn't have an animation to it (Claimh Solais, Excalibur, etc) only takes 12 frames to swing, give or take 2 frames.
Manticore soul is the only rush soul even remotely near my path. I need a rush soul in order to glitch at two points.

Well, we will see. I haven't even glanced at my emulator folder in a week thanks to Guild Wars. The closest I came was when I was tinkering with Super Ghouls 'n Ghosts' level select loophole...

GUILD WARS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I am still slaving over the Skeleton Knight soul, actually. Thing is, I forgot to kill two bats earlier on, so I am 2 exp shorter than I should be. I could redo the whole stair section again and kill the bats and hope that those 2 kills, 2 exp, less, hearts, and probably one frame difference will have on randomness. My other idea was to kill a Zombie Soldier in the same room as the Skeleton Knights in order to get the 2 exp and get the Combat Knife a bit earlier. Unfortunately, the douches will only drop Rotten Meat, not Combat Knives.
I really really really wanna make this a good and 'perfect' movie, but the randomness of this game brings so much pain to my heart. I am tempted to just make a quick playthrough and only randomising Manticore and maybe Red Minotaur, but that is lazy and I don't want to resort to that.

New Game + is when you start a new game with all of the money, souls, equipment, and map you had from a previous game. The only souls you don't have are the ones that allow you access to new areas or ones that give you new moves.
Werejaguars drop the Mach Punch. Weretigers drop the Whip Knuckle. Werejaguars are in the Underground Cemetary, which is not on my path in my glitch run and is barely on my path in the any% run (only stopping to by to get the Fire Demon soul). Weretigers are on my path to Balore in both movies. Whip Knuckle is also a hell of a lot stronger than the Mach Punch (a difference of +44 ATT). However, if you had read the thread, you would see that I plan to pass up the Whip Knuckle anyways in favor of the Laevatain.
And for reference, you don't need to get Galamoth (the soul that lets you get past Chronomage) from Legion in order to get to the Throne Room. It's just a very disposable boss fight that grants you the ability to add Legion, Chronomage, and Sky Fish to your soul list.

End of the dialogue is where my movie will end.
SRAM is a file that contains save data, or something. It just allows you to save stuff to the game battery, which in turn allows for people to make mods to their games. As a precaution, we make sure that all movies start with no SRAM and clear the memory of the game upon recording.
