I'm pretty pleased with the first mission now. The only things I would question are why it is that you don't use your last grenade on the boss? Couldn't you have ducked and tossed one out to speed things up a bit? If no, couldn't you have tossed it out when you fought the two helicopters one screen before?

I'll have to disagree with you; the game quality really doesn't go anywhere. All they do is toss more enemies at you, but they don't seem to get any more complex or entertaining. I'm also 99% sure that every boss fight could have been done faster. There were lots of missed shots due to overuse of autofire, and there were lots of moments where I felt that moving in circles was becoming a bit too farmiliar. The only part of the game I liked was the very end, when you got to escape. Granted, I watched it at 200%, but it was still cool. Too bad I had to sit through 20 minutes of scrolling to get there. You could have watched a majority of this game at 200-400% and not missed a beat. Also, just because you did this in one sitting doesn't mean that you should have a low rerecord count. You should be making sure that everything you do is really precise, not just okay. A 30 minute movie should have more than just 65 rerecords, even if it was as straight forward as this. and please, feel free to use the edit button in the forums. there is no need to add a new reply every time you need to add something.

While this movie is better than the WIP shown in said thread, braceyj's movie still has too many faults. The game also seems way too easy, which might be why the rerecord count is so low. However, there are lots of missed shots and untouched enemies, and so I don't see how this movie is anything more than just a playthrough. Unless the game picks up a lot of speed and entertainment value after the first two levels, I'm voting no.

What was that jumping method you used in your fight with Arachne? Did that let you fire off missiles faster?

Well Cordax, here are your choices: A) Play the movie using Gens with the published .gmv file. If you need help with this, there is an FAQ. B) Download the file through torrent and be patient. This is the easiest method. C) Ask around for the .avi file. This will probably yield you no help, as no one is willing to spend that much time sending you something that you can easily get on your own.

It is used to open the doors for the two maidens. Dan is getting the best ending because, well, he's cool like that.

He means your first shinespark, the vertical one. Would saving the charge, ascending up the shaft by jumping means, and then doing the shinespark across the lava save any time? You enter a different room in order to charge a new shine for the zipline room, and apparently that takes a questionable amount of time...

Well, I would only have the Baselard until I get the Combat Knife, and that would get ditched for the Whip Knuckle soon after. Laevatain is only 16 ATT stronger than WK, but its worth it. Thing is, RM soul uses 150 MP per cast. I won't be able to use it until CHaos, I think.

I'm starting this run over. There won't really be any difference aside from that I am moving over to the lag-less VBA for this. As far as I know, the movie played exactly the same up until the first bat encounter. No biggie. I'm going to write down at which frames I do what moves on my existing movie so that I can basically transfer this so a new movie that will be <10 frames faster. Hopefully that will help me with randomising the Skeleton Knight. Neither one was helping me out at all, and I even tried taking a tiny detour to kill the first Zombie Soldier for his Combat Knife, but he wouldn't play along either. Optimally, it is best to get the Skeleton Knight on first pass and then get the Combat Knife from the second Zombie Officer I meet. We'll see how this works out... edit: On top of all of that, I have found another path diversion that is leaving me kind of meh. From there I appear in the Arena, I could make a tiny detour to pick up the Laevatain, which is a nice and burly weapon to use on Balore and Chaos. Problem with this? There are 2 Red Minotaurs and 2 Weretigers in my way. They could equate to another level, which will speed up Balore, but that also makes me want to randomise the Red Minotaur soul so I can tear up Chaos a bit. Doing this, however, removes the need for randomising the Whip Knuckle.

The reason I asked was because I needed to see if checking reduce lag will make my Aria of Sorrow movie desynch. Apparently there is one frame of emulated lag that desynchs it kinda early on, so I guess I might just take that file and hex around the lags. Maybe that will help my movie move forward...

They practically go hand in hand most of the time, aside from a few songs that deviate from their normal music styles.

Probably Blindside, unless I'm in the mood for my many other kinds of music.

Can someone tell me how to enable Lag Reduction? I can't seem to figure this out on my own and I need to test something before I go on with any of my movies.

You could just do a full run and a skip run, like Wizards and Warriors.

What was the channel topic? "Apple is no longer an IRC op"? ps: looks like apple is an IRC op on freematrix, not freenode

Well, it explicitly says "If you want to get a cloak, regardless of what kind you want, just register your nick and then ask a network staffer to give you a cloak." Doesn't look so confusing to me.

Are all of those question marks and exclamation points REALLY necessary? Anyways, are you using a torrenting program to get it? Are you getting 0 kb/s download? Does it say 0 seeds? We need a lot more information.
