Oh hey look, I didn't abandon this bizzity tizzity wizzity.....hizzity.......
Some improvement comments:
General
-Analog control is faster. Yeah that's actually a fucking revelation.
Level 1 - Get to the Bank!
-Going right instead of climbing up the building or whatever was like 5 seconds faster.
Level 2 - Bank Approach
-First application of Web Dome Ascension (WDA), which gets a lot of use throughout the run. Used here to skip a cutscene.
Level 3 - Hostage Situation
-Optimized web swings and movement getting oob.
Level 4 - Stop the Bomb!
-Minor angle optimization throwing the bomb. Also, little glitch at the end.
Level 5 - Race to the Bugle
-Lots of route optimization. There is now zero climbing in this level.
Level 6 - Spidey vs. Scorpion!
-Fastest way to deal damage is to do two kicks and a punch with web gloves, since the gloves only wear off if you're using your fists. Also, dive-kicking after every combo saves time.
Levels 7-11
-Major route optimizations and applications of WDA. Also used targeting in a few places to force Spidey to web swing where I want.
Level 12 - Spidey vs. Rhino!
-Same strategy as Scorpion, only Rhino's divekick timer is a little different so they're used less.
Be sure to let me know what you think.

The main problem with the game is that it freezes in the emulator for like 5-10 seconds after every cutscene or significant scene transition, which doesn't really get shown in the encode since it reduces most of them.
Also I'm on a laptop lel.

Hey Starlight, sorry didn't mean to ignore your post! The TAS actually desynced after the opening, and it runs super slow on my computer so I've kind of dropped it for now.
But on the bright side, here's a video version of what's left. Shows off the monster book trick I was talking about before.

RTA runners classify this as a separate branch from Grant, so I don't see why we shouldn't do the same here. It's not like there's any more branches left for this game, anyway.

Yeah, Storm Puffs are the only item Shantae can get that allows this to happen, and they're right next to where she starts the game, lol.

Skips transforming into monkey. Time doesn't pass in caves so this saves 4-5 seconds.
Double edit: Turns out you can glitch out the shop by just taking damage, unlike other cutscenes! This'll make 100% routing much easier, haha.

....Why? Also that data transfer only increases your HP/MP, not your damage.
Again, why? Why not just do a regular TAS of sisters mode? Hard Level 1 is just going to slow bosses down in the long run.
We're talking like, maybe ten enemies that won't die here. Sisters Mode is going to be really slow anyway, no point wasting time just to kill enemies.

Nah, game doesn't let you buy stuff unless you have the bare minimum amount of money. My theory is that the game adds whatever amount gets 'ticked' down to your total if you interrupt it. For example, buying a 900 gem item creates a long wait where the game ticks your money down by 900.
At the very least, this is going to save a lot of time buying the Fighter's Equipment.
Edit: Two new applications for this glitch, both of which might even make early caravan possible finally!

Pretty simple, die while talking to the squid, then talk to it again to start the glitch. Means only 1 squid is needed in total.

Game gives you the transformation at the start of the cutscene, so skipping this saves about 15.5 seconds.

So I was messing around doing stuff with the Storm Puff, and I accidentally discovered two glitches that'll save minutes in 100%

The first one exploits the fact that the game doesn't wipe text if Shantae dies when it pops up, the easiest way to do that being with Storm Puffs. This means Shantae can 'walk and talk' in any cutscene that requires direct input from her to initiate.
Most notably, if you purchase an item while leaving, the game gets confused and not only ADDS money to Shantae's wallet, but also gives her the item! Needless to say, this completely eliminates the need for Gecko Racing.

These next tricks exploits the fact that, after using an item in the air, Shantae has a 1 frame window to perform any action, most notably jumping again. This allows you to grab the two squids that would normally require Harpy backtracking to get, saving at least 3 minutes overall.
So yeah, 100% just got interesting.

Well the real question here is whether or not your run is glitchless, or whether or not it's avoiding the gamebreaking left+right glitch only. Ultimately up to you, Arc.
